In the midst of trembling, it felt as if the ground was splitting apart, and a massive surge of Vital Energy Fluctuation emerged, flowing into the cave like an ocean tide. 0

This was the first time Zheng Yifan encountered such a formidable opponent. He had no idea what it was, but facing such a powerful Vital Energy Fluctuation, it was undeniable that the enemy was strong. 0

This raised the question of whether it was a beast or a Zombie. If it were a Zombie, there might still be a chance to fight back, as Zombies typically did not possess overwhelming physical strength. They were akin to those Superpowered Individuals, where their superpowers could be unstoppable. However, their actual combat effectiveness was not particularly outstanding. 0

On the other hand, if it were a beast, it would be truly troublesome. Beasts retained their primal combat instincts and enhanced their previous strengths. For instance, the Treasure Earthworm he had encountered before was a ruler of the underground. 0

Zheng Yifan still had no idea what kind of Fellow lay before him. 0

As he pondered this, an unexpected force suddenly surged forth, like a storm sweeping through. 0

It was the suction coming from where the underground Zombies and beasts were trying to escape. 0

Zheng Yifan saw dozens of beasts—dogs, cattle, horses, pigs, and sheep—previously domesticated animals now turned wild, all being drawn in. As for the Zombies, they were so weak that they vanished without a trace. 0

Only one horse surprised Zheng Yifan by charging out from underground. Its pristine white body bore several drops of Zombie ichor. 0

With a neigh that echoed through the air and its agile form, the white horse dashed out swiftly. As it passed by Zheng Yifan, it noticeably slowed down, turning its face towards him as if inviting him to climb onto its back and escape together. 0

The white horse clearly understood what kind of Fellow awaited them. 0

Its strength might not be the greatest among the beasts here, but it was undoubtedly the fastest and most agile. That was why it managed to escape. 0

“No need for that; I’ll handle that monster myself. You stay aside and watch. Once the battle is over, we’ll leave together. I’ll take care of you from now on,” Zheng Yifan said with a grand gesture. The presence of this horse lifted his spirits; he had unexpectedly gained an ally—one that was a beast at that. 0

There was a significant difference between beasts and ordinary horses. The enhancements were quite pronounced. The so-called thoroughbred horses that could travel thousands of miles in a day were mere exaggerations; horses were not suited for long-distance chases. They might reach such speeds momentarily but would suffer greatly if pushed too far; they could even become exhausted or incapacitated. 0

However, these wild horses faced none of those issues. Transformed by the apocalypse, they had become an entirely different species capable of telepathic communication and slaughtering Zombies on the battlefield. 0

This particular horse possessed Third Stage strength and already had some combat capability. 0

Yet it would still struggle in future battles since Zheng Yifan typically fought against Advanced Zombies and beasts. 0

The only difference was that it was more suitable for transportation, allowing for rest during breaks in the future. 0

Zheng Yifan had reached a level of strength where he no longer needed to find a specific place to rest; he could still rest while on horseback and continue moving. 0

The white horse seemed to understand Zheng Yifan's thoughts and trotted eagerly toward the village outskirts. 0

It was well aware of the powerful Fellow lurking below. If it weren't for the overwhelming force suppressing them, that Fellow would have devoured them all long ago. 0

Zheng Yifan had already taken action that made it want to pledge allegiance to him. 0

Suddenly, a rumbling sound echoed as the ground began to collapse extensively, revealing a blue head from below. It was the head of a snake, though it was hard to determine exactly what it was. 0

A horn protruded from its head, making it look quite bizarre. 0

However, upon seeing this Fellow, Zheng Yifan felt an instant familiarity and quickly remembered. He had encountered such a Fellow in an online game he played during the Post-Apocalypse. The graphics were different, but the features were distinct: a blue horn atop its head, a pitch-black body stained with Zombie Fluid and the blood of beasts. 0

Its mouth was dripping with blood, remnants of torn flesh still clinging to its lips. 0

It looked incredibly fierce. The snake's body remained underground, and Zheng Yifan estimated that it must be at least a hundred meters long, as thick as an oil tanker. 0

It was truly terrifying. In direct combat, Zheng Yifan's chances of winning were slim; however, he had to overcome this Fellow. 0

This creature was almost inseparable from the Primordial Pearl. It could sense the location of the System God's Primordial Pearl at any moment. 0

If Zheng Yifan tried to flee, this Basilisk would undoubtedly pursue him. The beasts had evolved some intelligence; if they employed ambush tactics later on, Zheng Yifan would face serious trouble if he wasn't at the Gathering Place. 0

With a hiss, the Basilisk let out an angry roar and lunged forward. 0

When facing Zheng Yifan, it remained calm and cautious. After all, Zheng Yifan's combat prowess was evident in his aura. 0

Only through real combat would true strength be revealed; however, before the battle began, both sides were evenly matched in their struggle for Vital Energy. 0

The Basilisk launched its attack with the most ferocious move right from the start. It opened its massive jaws and charged at Zheng Yifan. 0

It was as if it intended to swallow Zheng Yifan whole. Its mouth appeared to lead to another space, generating a powerful suction within. As Zheng Yifan looked into its gaping maw, he could see what seemed to be an entire world inside—a desolate landscape filled with ruins. Among the debris lay numerous carcasses of beasts and Zombie Fluid, while a type of blue worm scurried across the ground, devouring the remains and secreting a strange gas that wafted upward. 0

This might be the Basilisk's method of digestion. 0

Zheng Yifan couldn't comprehend all of this, but he knew one thing for certain: he absolutely could not be sucked in. Otherwise, he would be in the Basilisk's territory, and within its personal space, that would mean certain death. It was ridiculous to think that one person could contend against an entire realm. 0

A brilliant light enveloped him as the Power of Faith manifested. Suddenly, over a dozen Avatars of the Believers leaped forth, their target set on the head of the Basilisk. 0

As if unaffected by the world's control, their bodies initially resisted the pull of the suction. 0

However, just a second later, two Avatars of the Believers were still drawn toward it. 0

Yet Zheng Yifan did not allow them to be consumed; just as they reached the edge of its mouth, the Avatars disbanded on their own. 0

He dared not let the Avatars enter that other world, for that would mean the Power of Faith could never return. 0

That would be a losing trade. (To be continued.) 0
