As they passed the initial stretch of road, the surface became rugged. Along the way, they encountered people who looked more like zombies than the living, desperately searching for food by the roadside. They pressed on, hoping to find a Gathering Place. 0

All they wanted was to locate a Gathering Place. Coming out of one was akin to risking their lives; if they encountered someone along the way who could point them in the right direction, it meant there was hope for survival. If not, they would starve on the road. 0

Of course, these individuals would still manage to find some food. In this post-apocalyptic world, such people were most adept at obtaining Essence Fruit because ordinary folks wouldn’t venture into the mountains and forests. They didn’t care; whenever they came across a forest and felt hungry, they would go in to see if they could find something to eat. 0

Although they might encounter wild beasts, as long as they made it out alive, there would always be some rewards. Selling Essence Fruit could fetch them enough food to survive for another ten or twenty days without issue. This led to a significant number of such people. 0

However, the abundance of Essence Fruit still addressed their hunger issues. 0

After all, three years had already passed, and order had begun to emerge. Zombies were no longer as prevalent in the wild; they had started to gather together, ready to attack humans instead of scattering aimlessly outside. 0

If they had remained scattered, humanity would have triumphed long ago, leaving no chance for their survival. 0

Zheng Yifan continued on this path, guiding them toward Totenburg and sharing directions. Over time, Zhang Qiang had grown accustomed to this role; he merely followed ahead as a guide. 0

In his eyes, Zheng Yifan seemed somewhat abnormal. What kind of Gathering Place would want these people? They were all struggling souls with no abilities or strength and lacked combat prowess. Those who dared to confront zombies head-on had either become Superpowered Individuals or perished. 0

Most of these individuals were cowards who had initially avoided zombies. They hid away and used every means possible to survive. Now that they had lost their will to live, they could only risk everything in search of food. 0

Conversely, those who had fought fiercely against zombies from the beginning—if they hadn’t died—had become strong individuals. 0

They had access to the most resources early on and exchanged their Essence Fruit for high-quality goods. 0

Then there were those who had struck lucky and transformed into powerful Superpowered Individuals; they were among the more comfortable survivors in this harsh world. 0

As for Zheng Yifan, Zhang Qiang really didn't know how to evaluate him. This fellow was a bit too kind-hearted; one might mistake him for a bodhisattva in a post-apocalyptic world, not realizing that he was the leader of a Gathering Place. 0

However, in reality, this man could be quite assertive at times. For instance, when it came to combat or when the Gathering Place needed to generate profit, he would step in and employ seemingly gentle yet actually very firm methods to get what he wanted. 0

It seemed like they had managed to survive. In truth, it was because others recognized the strength of his group—over a thousand Superpowered Individuals was no small number. 0

They walked slowly, and when they reached the edge of a forest, Zheng Yifan's expression suddenly changed as he looked at Zhang Qiang beside him. 0

"Is this where your territory begins?" Zheng Yifan's gaze sharpened; the surroundings seemed to shift in some way. He couldn't pinpoint exactly how, but perhaps this was the special power of the Primordial Pearl. 0

"Yes, this is our sphere of influence. In reality, there are no rules here; wild beasts and Zombies can enter freely. However, here we gain much more power from battling those beasts and Zombies." 0

"We call this area the Divine Domain. Only Zombies and beasts that enter this range provide us with experience needed for leveling up—what you refer to as Vital Energy. In other areas, experience is only one-tenth of that." 0

Zheng Yifan paused for a moment, suddenly understanding that their leveling up seemed to have no bottleneck. As long as they defeated Zombies and beasts, they would gain the necessary experience, which would automatically lead to level increases once enough was accumulated. 0

Of course, they even divided each First Level into ten tiers. According to him, he himself was a Level 57 Shield Warrior. 0

Zheng Yifan didn't grasp the full significance of that but understood that his combat ability was formidable. Once on his own turf, Zheng Yifan noticed how proactive he was in battle; perhaps it was due to the higher frequency of Zombies appearing in this area. 0

According to him, they were usually not allowed to enter this region to hunt monsters because their levels were too high; only defeating strong enemies would yield experience. Here, experience was almost negligible. 0

However, if they slaughtered within their own territory, it would still be better than fighting outside. Yet they had to leave space for those lower-level Fellows; otherwise, those individuals wouldn't be able to improve their strength. They killed too quickly, and there were too few Zombies arriving from outside. 0

Zheng Yifan realized after a while that this place indeed attracted the arrival of Zombies. It seemed as if a strange wave was emanating from this area, and any Zombie that heard the Signal responded as if they had encountered the authority of a Zombie Lord, drawn to it without limits. 0

Ordinary Zombies lacked any real thought; upon hearing such a Signal, they simply came over. 0

Along the way, there were an overwhelming number of Zombies. Although their quality was not particularly high, it was likely that the strength of the Signal indicated a Zombie Lord of lower rank, which meant it could not summon those Advanced Zombies. 0

Instead, Low-Level Zombies were everywhere. Coupled with the special environment, it made killing Zombies much easier; the treacherous mountains and forests served as the graveyard for them. 0

Gradually, some Survivors could be seen in the distance. They wielded metal weapons and wore armor, working in groups of four or five to clear out Zombies. Anyone passing by would nod and greet Zhang Qiang. 0

Zhang Qiang merely nodded in response, offering no further acknowledgment. 0

To them, Zheng Yifan was just an outsider. 0

As they ventured deeper into the forest, Zheng Yifan felt increasingly conflicted. He truly hesitated to use the Primordial Pearl to enter the Vitality Tower; it felt like such a waste because he could already sense what was known as a Safe Zone. 0

This was an absolutely secure area where Zombies and beasts infused with mutated Vital Energy were completely rejected by the land, unable to enter. The combat effectiveness of Superpowered Individuals was greatly diminished here, and Vital Energy became obscure. 0

Zheng Yifan instead felt his Power of Faith becoming more active, while the strength of the Time-Space Barrier showed a slight increase. (To be continued.) 0
