The spaceship slowly ascended into the sky, and Zheng Yifan shared his destination with the crew. It was Ancheng, the place where Ten Thousand Steps originated. He wanted to return and see the people there, perhaps reconnect with a few old friends he had lost touch with due to his lack of strength when he left.
But now, things were different. He possessed the spaceship he was currently piloting. Although it appeared imposing, he knew that dealing with formidable Zombies would require more than just looks. The true power of a spaceship would need to be enhanced with Superpower technology; the current exterior and internal equipment were insufficient to unleash his full combat potential.
Yet, he was already quite satisfied. The foundational framework had been completed, and his next goal was to amass a significant amount of money. The materials he needed and the number of Superpowered Individuals required were vast. He would need nearly a hundred Superpowered Individuals aboard his ship, at least those at the Third Stage.
Superpowered Individuals were still highly sought after, making it challenging to gather so many. He particularly valued those with long-range attack capabilities, especially Fifth-Level Espers.
It was important to note that there were external attack devices on his spaceship designed for Superpowered Individuals to engage in close combat.
Close-range attackers faced considerable challenges in such warfare, while long-range attackers found it much easier. They merely needed to unleash their Superpowers.
Zheng Yifan actually had an even better idea.
"Ten Thousand Steps, what do you think about bringing along a few hundred Fire Elemental Espers? There are individuals in the Gathering Place who can connect everyone's Superpowers together. If one person releases their power outside, the destructive force would be overwhelming," Zheng Yifan thought of those special Superpowered Individuals in the Gathering Place whose abilities could be instantly combined, which had proven immensely effective during city defense battles in the past.
However, things were much more difficult now. Without city defense battles, their defensive capabilities had severely diminished.
In reality, they had defeated themselves; they lacked exceptional defensive strength and could only focus on attacking.
This was the greatest shortcoming of Fire Elemental Espers: all their power was dedicated to damage and offense; they had no inherent defensive capabilities. This limitation meant they could only exert their maximum strength during city defense battles.
But a spaceship was different; those inside could arrange for more equipment.
"Boss, our spaceship doesn't have that setup. If we want to use it, we need to rebuild it. A spaceship is incredibly expensive; it requires an enormous amount of metal materials. And while our current spaceship may look decent, its metal components are merely ordinary alloys. We don't have any high-strength strategic alloys right now; those are all in America across the Dollars river, where they possess the best metallurgical technology and military materials," Ten Thousand Steps said, gazing intently at Zheng Yifan.
The military technology and metal metallurgy in America were indeed formidable, with Germany also ranking among the top. Their true metallurgical techniques could significantly enhance the strategic capabilities within the Gathering Place.
Especially now that Zheng Yifan had developed Superpower Technology so far; looking back, he realized how remarkable those techniques were—centuries of accumulation had led to today's metallurgical system. If only they could gather those manufacturing methods and talents together, it would be a boon for the entire world.
More than two years had passed; they were nearing three years now. Life was also tough for those in America.
However, they were fortunate; they should be able to evade danger for now. After all, there were so many farms around.
Their most unfortunate circumstance was that agriculture and animal husbandry were exceptionally developed, and the situation regarding animal protection was quite good.
Unlike Huaxia, they had wildlife parks and ecological reserves.
Most importantly, there were indeed a vast number of animals, and the population of dogs was beyond imagination.
The mutated beasts were also quite terrifying. Some retained their intelligence and even assisted their owners, but the majority, when mutated, suffered mental degradation and turned against their owners more often than not.
Zheng Yifan wanted the technology from there, but even more so, he desired the population.
Tens of millions of Chinese people were truly in high demand. More importantly, the world was united as one; Zheng Yifan's mindset had shifted from the past, where divisions among countries were so clear-cut.
Weren't they all survivors? As long as they understood this point. The common enemy was zombies, and their Hope Federation could be promoted even in the apocalypse.
He just wondered if there were any particularly formidable individuals over there.
They controlled several satellites for surveillance, but unfortunately, it wasn't comprehensive enough. Much of it remained difficult to decipher; this highlighted the technological gap between the two worlds.
"Leader, take another look at our attack equipment." Zheng Yifan had promised him many things earlier, and now he hoped to show Zheng Yifan more in case his funding increased.
"What is it?" Zheng Yifan asked, somewhat dazed. What kind of treasure could possibly be hidden?
It was specially set up for you, Leader.
When Ten Thousand Steps casually swiped across the screen in front of him, Zheng Yifan saw a special control panel designed for his use.
Without hesitation, he stepped onto it.
As soon as Zheng Yifan stood on it, his senses transformed. He could feel a surge of Power of Faith within his body.
Moreover, and most importantly, he could sense that several channels were right beside him.
"What is this?" Zheng Yifan asked in confusion.
"This is the Faith Channel I developed. It can transmit Superpower, and I believe it can also transmit Faith Power. Leader, your strength can be released at any time. There are several channels here that allow the Avatar of the Believers to rush out and fight. With the entire ship's power as support, your strength can be further enhanced. Next to the ship's power room, there is a dedicated Energy Source prepared for you that can provide energy at any time," Ten Thousand Steps explained slowly.
Zheng Yifan understood that there were specialized devices that would allow his Avatar of the Believers to charge out, and they had developed a more powerful method to channel the Power of Faith, enabling them to cover a vast area within dozens of miles in a high-density Power of Faith collection zone.
This way, Zheng Yifan's Believer Legion could charge almost indefinitely.
During battles, as long as the ship hovered above a horde of Zombies, numerous Avatars of the Believers could fly down and eliminate those Zombies.
One could imagine the spectacular scene and the formidable attack effect.
Zheng Yifan looked forward to witnessing it himself.
However, the ship needed to be reworked and rebuilt. Zheng Yifan waved his hand casually and said, "Target Ancheng. Let's fly for a while to test it out. If it works, I'll allocate funds for you to build the best ship."
With a grand gesture, Zheng Yifan made Han Rui turn back in disbelief; building a ship required a significant amount of funding. (To be continued...)
