Hearing the silence on the other end of the phone, Lin Ruxian seemed to realize she had crossed a line and quickly apologized, "Dad, I know I shouldn't have kept this from you. But I couldn't help it! I'm under constant scrutiny in the entertainment industry, and even you guys are being watched by paparazzi all the time. I just wanted to tell you, but there was never a chance."
"Enough! Just stop!"
Lin Zhengfeng gasped for breath, his voice filled with anger as he shouted, "Tell me where that brat lives! I’m going to bring my granddaughter back!"
"Granddaughter?"
Lin Ruxian was momentarily stunned. Where did this granddaughter come from?
"Do you think you can keep this from me? You stubborn girl, the child is already this big and you still haven't told us? Do you even care about your parents?"
Listening to Lin Zhengfeng's roar on the phone, Lin Ruxian instantly understood that he had misunderstood. The old man must have mistaken Li Hong's daughter for a child she had with Li Hong.
Just as Lin Ruxian was about to explain, another thought struck her.
Wasn't Li Hong most concerned about Yuchen? If she could resolve things with Yuchen, would she still have to worry about Li Hong changing his mind?
Lin Ruxian felt confident that as long as her family accepted Yuchen's existence, even if Li Hong had no feelings for her at all, he would gradually come to accept her.
With this realization, Lin Ruxian suddenly knew what she needed to do.
"Dad, you already know?" Lin Ruxian feigned panic as she asked.
On the other end of the line, Lin Zhengfeng was nearly beside himself with rage. "Do you really think your father is an idiot? A child that big, how could I possibly pretend not to see it?"
"Dad, what do you want to do?" Lin Ruxian asked curiously.
Lin Zhengfeng, having vented his frustrations, felt a significant portion of his anger dissipate. Hearing his daughter's somewhat anxious inquiry, he replied irritably, "What can we do now that you've given birth? Enough with the nonsense; tell me where that guy lives. I'm going to bring my granddaughter back to take care of her. A grown man like him won't be able to handle a child."
Lin Ruxian felt a surge of anxiety. Li Hong had warned Sister Wang not to involve Yuchen. Besides, even if Li Hong hadn't said anything, she couldn't let her father go and bring Yuchen over.
Given how much Li Hong valued Yuchen, if her father really did that, she could forget about becoming Mrs. Li. While they wouldn't turn against each other, their relationship would definitely become strained.
Thus, Lin Ruxian quickly advised her father on the other end of the line, "Dad, please don't go looking for him. He's doing a great job with the child; I've even hired several nannies to help take care of Yuchen. Don't worry about it. Besides, our family is under constant scrutiny from paparazzi. If you bring her back, do you think I can still make it in the entertainment industry?"

Lin Zhengfeng pondered for a moment and had to admit that his daughter was right. Since Lin Ruxian's relationship with Li Hong hadn't been exposed yet, it wasn't appropriate to bring Yuchen over just yet. It would be better to wait until their relationship was public before doing so.
"Alright then, we'll put this matter aside for now. But in the future, you two young people need to bring my granddaughter over. Even if you have nannies taking care of her, your mother and I won't feel at ease."
At this point, Lin Zhengfeng seemed to remember something and asked Lin Ruxian, "Yuchen? What's that girl's name?"
"Li Yuchen! Her name is Yuchen!" Lin Ruxian quickly replied.
"Yuchen? Hmm... not bad..." Upon hearing the name, Lin Zhengfeng couldn't help but evaluate it.
He didn't find it strange that Yuchen had the surname Li. Following the father's surname was a common trend and an age-old custom. He never considered asking Yuchen to change her surname to Lin; he clearly understood that this was impossible.
Even if this son-in-law had married into their family, such a request would be met with criticism. Moreover, Li Hong's career was quite successful; he was no less accomplished than his daughter. With this thought in mind, he had even less inclination to ask Yuchen to change her surname.
Sighing deeply, Lin Zhengfeng instructed Lin Ruxian, "Alright then, I understand the situation now. You should bring my granddaughter and that guy over sometime so we can meet your mother and me. After all, we're family; it's not right that we don't know each other."
"Alright, I'll take him and Yuchen to visit you two in a couple of days," Lin Ruxian agreed without a second thought.
"Well then," Lin Ruxian smiled and said, "Dad, does that mean you have no objections to us getting married?"
Lin Zhengfeng grunted, sounding displeased. "You both went ahead and had a child on your own accord. What objections could I possibly have? Enough is enough. You're not kids anymore; you can decide these things for yourselves. Just remember to live well from now on, and don't just think about yourselves—consider the child too."
"Dad, I understand," Lin Ruxian said, feeling quite moved.
She never expected things would evolve to this point. Sister Wang was the one who brought them together, and Lin Ruxian had no idea what her intentions were when she agreed.
Unexpectedly, Sister Wang's matchmaking had turned them into a couple, skipping even the dating phase entirely.
To be honest, after hearing Sister Wang lay out her plans, Lin Ruxian felt a bit flustered and at a loss.
But under Sister Wang's persuasion, she managed to solidify her resolve.
That's right; if she found a good man, she needed to secure him quickly before someone else could take advantage.

As for Li Hong, Lin Ruxian couldn't say she had deep feelings for him. It was only through their interactions that she discovered his caring nature and excellence as a man that truly captured her heart.

She needed a shoulder to lean on during her moments of fatigue and confusion, someone who could provide her with strong support. She also sought a safe harbor during her times of disappointment and hesitation.
Just then, Li Hong appeared.
No matter whether it was the encounter on the airport shuttle or the lunch at his home, Lin Ruxian felt the inner security and warmth emanating from Li Hong.
Li Hong's indulgence towards Yuchen often made Lin Ruxian envious. How could he show such meticulous care and affection for an adopted child? What about the woman he loved most in his life?
