"Uh, don't get so worked up!" Charlie was genuinely startled by Soulmate's sudden outburst and quickly tried to calm him down.
"I didn't do anything wrong, so why do I have to take the hit?" Charlie said, feeling quite frustrated.
Soulmate sneered, "Isn't this considered harm? What do you want then? Do you think it only counts as harm if you bend Lu Mao?"
"What does that have to do with me? Why am I being dragged into this?" Lu Mao felt like he was being shot while lying down.
After a moment of chaos, Charlie had finally regained his composure. He shifted his sitting position and explained with righteous indignation, "Soulmate, your reaction is off. Why are you so worked up? Even if I were to go after Eastern Maiden, it has nothing to do with you!"
"How does it not have anything to do with me? I'm just... I just can't stand it!" Soulmate replied weakly.
Just as the two were arguing, another person walked in from outside. This person was the very focus of their debate—Eastern Maiden.
With a disdainful glance at the group, Eastern Maiden said, "What are a bunch of grown men huddled together discussing? Do you believe I could pull something out that's bigger than all of yours? Hurry up, the boss is coming out."
"Ah, the boss is coming out?" The group was taken aback, completely unprepared for Li Hong's swift escape.
Thus, they abandoned their argument and hurried toward the control room.
When they arrived in the control room, they immediately spotted Li Hong sitting in a chair, panting heavily.
"Boss, you're out?"
Li Hong was patiently comforting his adopted daughter when he turned around and saw Soulmate and the others.
He had some questions for them as well, so he first addressed Charlie, "Charlie, everything is fine over at Sweet Potato Films, right?"
Charlie shook his head and introduced, "It's fine, we haven't had any new projects released recently, so nothing much has been happening."
"That's good to hear," Li Hong replied.
Turning to Lu Mao, Li Hong asked, "Lu Mao, how's the New Movie coming along?"
Lu Mao nodded and replied, "Boss, I've finished filming on my end; now we’re just waiting for the promotional release."
"Great job," Li Hong praised him. Then he realized he didn't even know the name of the movie.
Feeling a bit awkward, Li Hong asked, "By the way, what’s the name of this New Movie?"
"Hasty Encounter," Lu Mao quickly explained.
"Nice name!"
After all, youth films often had this kind of vibe; Li Hong didn't see anything wrong with it. Hasty Encounter was just fine; it was better than having no title at all, right?
After checking in with the two of them, Li Hong finally felt relieved about Sweet Potato. Overall, he was quite satisfied; at least there hadn’t been any unexpected issues, and everything was progressing smoothly.
With Sweet Potato under control, the focus shifted to the Fighting Game. This was a cash cow that Li Hong valued highly, and he was curious about its current development.
"The Goddess Alliance is still going strong; the number of registered players continues to rise. Our concurrent online users have already surpassed ten million, making it the top online game in Blue Star," Mark said proudly.
It was no wonder he felt so proud; compared to the development of League of Legends, Goddess Alliance had progressed much more smoothly. After all, Li Hong had invested a lot of money from the start, and with a complete server setup from League of Legends, this achievement wasn’t surprising at all.
Li Hong was quite satisfied with Mark's response. With so many advantages, the achievements of the Goddess Alliance were not surprising to him. His only concern now was the number of players making purchases in the game.
Since the Goddess Alliance was similar to League of Legends from his previous life, the only way to generate revenue was through in-game currency. The success of the Goddess Alliance depended on how many players were willing to spend money. If it couldn't match League of Legends, it would be considered a failure.
After receiving Li Hong's inquiry, Mark smiled and said, "Boss, you probably can't even imagine how much revenue we've generated in just half a month since the launch of Goddess Alliance."
"How much? Can it compare to League of Legends?" Li Hong asked excitedly.
When League of Legends first launched, Riot Games had little capital for promotion, making any comparison difficult. The daily active user count reaching ten million only happened a year or two after its release.
That year, League of Legends' annual revenue surpassed 600 million dollars, making it a cash cow. As its daily active users continued to rise, by the time the number exceeded one hundred million, its annual revenue had already crossed 1.6 billion dollars.
Now, Goddess Alliance had a stronger start compared to League of Legends. Just half a month after its launch, its daily active users had already surpassed ten million. This revenue would surely bring Li Hong a big surprise.
Mark raised one finger, unable to hide his amusement.
Li Hong's eyes lit up as he exclaimed, "One hundred million dollars?"
That was astonishing; if they really made one hundred million dollars in just half a month, they would be unbeatable.
Mark frowned and explained impatiently, "Boss, you're thinking too highly of it. It's only been half a month; many players haven't reached max level yet and haven't experienced the fun of ranked matches. At this stage, how could the number of paying players be high? I meant one hundred million Soft Sister Coins."
"Oh, that's still pretty good."
Although it wasn't the one hundred million dollars he had envisioned, it was still impressive. As Mark mentioned, Goddess Alliance had just launched and hadn't yet reached its peak potential. Once most players reached max level and started ranked matches, that would be when Goddess Alliance truly entered its growth phase.
Even though Li Hong could understand this rationally, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment deep down.
Mark seemed to understand what Li Hong was thinking. He shook his head and explained, "Boss, don't think that this value is inferior to League of Legends. To be frank, I believe the potential of Goddess Alliance is even greater than that of League of Legends. Right now, we just haven't unleashed our power yet. Once we do, surpassing League of Legends will be a piece of cake."
"What do you mean by that?" Li Hong asked, puzzled. How did Mark come to the conclusion that Goddess Alliance had greater potential than League of Legends?
"Girls!" Mark pointed out the key issue directly. "Goddess Alliance's more appealing Art Style and designs that resonate with female perspectives will attract a larger number of Female Players compared to League of Legends. As the saying goes, one Female Player can bring in ten male players. Not to mention, our game is highly competitive; male players might not care about the Art Style but will still get hooked. That's why our Goddess Alliance has reached a point where it appeals to both genders."
"What the hell? Is it really that exaggerated?" Li Hong exclaimed in shock.
Although League of Legends claims to have the most female players among online games, how much of that is inflated remains uncertain. However, it's clear that the number of female players in League of Legends is not as high as imagined. After all, while League of Legends' Art Style is already quite cute, it still doesn't hit the sweet spot for Female Players.
In contrast, Goddess Alliance has done a better job in this regard. At least its appealing Art Style, combined with the setting of cross-dressing characters, will draw many girls into the game. After all, every girl must have a little bit of a hidden side within her.
