As the two individuals in front of him were about to start a fight, Destiny Keeper quickly stepped in between them, acting as a mediator. "I suggest you let Wheel King take Yao Guang away. You have no idea where to find this phoenix." 0

Destiny Keeper's words lacked reason, but watching Xue take Yao Guang away still left Shu feeling resentful. No matter what, Yao Guang had already become this way; did he and the other brothers not even have the right to ask questions? Xue silently took Yao Guang from his hands, and no matter how Shu thought about it, he felt utterly humiliated. 0

"Step aside. Don't worry, I will definitely bring back a lively Yao Guang," Xue's tone began to turn harsh. If it weren't for the fact that he was facing Yao Guang's family, he might have already resorted to violence. Why was he wasting so much time here? 0

"You..." Xue's words displeased Kaiyang greatly. Although their Big Dipper Seventh Star held a low status in this court, no one should speak to them like that in front of all the Star Lords. Wasn't he just a Wheel King? With Kaiyang's fiery temperament, if it weren't for his concern for Yao Guang, he would have shot at Xue by now. 0

"Alright, alright, stop arguing. Listen to my advice and hurry up and take Yao Guang wherever you need to go. You may be enjoying yourselves here arguing, but poor Yao Guang is still suffering," Destiny Keeper's words snapped everyone back to reality. Yes, no matter what else was happening, Yao Guang's situation was the most important. 0

Shu looked at Yao Guang in Xue's arms; she could neither hear nor see anything at that moment. The fire inside him tormented him as he gazed at her with heartache. Resolutely, Shu took a step back and cleared the path for Xue. 0

The other Star Lords noticed Shu's movement and also stepped aside, allowing Xue to pass. However, their eyes lingered on Yao Guang in Xue's arms with reluctance. 0

Seeing them part ways, Xue quickly prepared to leave while holding Yao Guang tightly. 0

"Whee King, you must take good care of Yao Guang," Shu called out from behind him. 0

"Don't worry," Xue replied without looking back, tightening his hold on Yao Guang. Even if Shu didn't trust him, he would still take good care of her. 0

"Shu, let go of Yao Guang. Actually, this Wheel King is quite good to her," Destiny Keeper said as they watched Xue leave. 0

Even though the people from Big Dipper were reluctant to part with Yao Guang, they knew they had to let her go. She needed someone else by her side, but that person was destined not to be her Brothers. 0

Shu did not respond to the words of the Destiny Keeper; he simply gazed silently at the place where Yao Guang had disappeared. He understood the meaning behind the Destiny Keeper's words, but he could not find peace in his heart knowing he could not witness Yao Guang's happiness. Especially after seeing that scene in Destiny Keeper, where Yao Guang would become enemies with Xue on the battlefield—how could Shu possibly let that go? 0

“Destiny Keeper, do you know what I am worried about?” After a long silence, Shu spoke softly to the Destiny Keeper. 0

The Destiny Keeper smiled, his expression now different from before. “Shu, you still do not see clearly. Life can be broken or established; even our fates do not simply follow the wishes of the earth.” Shu had been a close friend of the Destiny Keeper for many years. This friend was good in many ways but always too rigid, someone who would not turn back until he hit a wall. However, the Destiny Keeper's eyes had already seen through many of the so-called truths of this world. The Southern Dipper governs life, while the Big Dipper governs death. As the fourth Kuaixing of the Southern Dipper, he held dominion over lifespan and noble titles. The fates were in the hands of the Destiny Keeper; thus, he understood that sometimes fate does not necessarily follow destiny—it all depended on the twists of fate between Yao Guang and Xue. 0

Yao Guang's body gradually began to warm up again. Xue hurried along the way, but Phoenix Mountain was simply too far away. Moreover, Xue had just been injured by the Phoenix Fire within Yao Guang’s body. 0

Earlier, Xue had only managed to suppress his pain without showing it. Now, having overexerted his magical power to speed up their journey on auspicious clouds, he felt his strength waning. Even holding Yao Guang felt like a struggle, yet they were still too far from Phoenix Mountain. 0

Yao Guang awoke amidst a haze; she had just fallen asleep and could only feel a fire burning within her body. She wanted to seek help but found that her palace was surrounded by a barrier set by Shu. Then came immense pain that caused her to lose consciousness. Now that Yao Guang was awake, her first sight was Xue, and she thought she must be dreaming. 0

“Xue?” Yao Guang asked in confusion. Hadn't they just parted? How could they meet again so soon? Was this really happening? 0

“Yao Guang, you’re awake!” Xue exclaimed with surprise, which made Yao Guang feel astonished as well. It felt as if he hadn’t seen her in ages despite it only being a short time. 0

“Yao Guang, do you feel unwell anywhere?” Xue asked worriedly. Although Yao Guang had awakened, she seemed far from fully recovered. 0

“Um, I’m fine…” Before she could finish her sentence, Yao Guang felt her vision begin to blur again; she could hardly see Xue clearly anymore. 0

Seeing Yao Guang faint again in his arms made Xue realize he needed to hurry; her condition did not appear good at all. 0

A thin layer of sweat formed on Xue's forehead. In this lofty sky where clouds swirled around them, even sweating indicated that his magical power was rapidly depleting. He needed to move faster—much faster. 0

Xue was already severely injured, and now his vision began to blur. This was bad; he estimated he wouldn't be able to hold on much longer. He struggled to keep his eyes open, but the scene before him continued to fade into darkness. 0

He truly couldn't hold on any longer, and soon everything around him was engulfed in blackness. 0

Xue and Yao Guang fell from the clouds together. Just before losing consciousness completely, Xue used his last bit of strength to protect Yao Guang within his spell. After that, he knew nothing. 0

When Xue awoke, he found himself lying on a bed. What had happened? 0

"Yao Guang! Yao Guang!" Xue called out, but when he looked around, he didn't see Yao Guang anywhere. A hollow feeling filled his heart. Where was Yao Guang? He clearly remembered holding onto her tightly. How could she be missing now? 0

"Xue, don't worry. Yao Guang is right next to you," the Phoenix Empress said as she walked in after hearing his cries. 0

Xue turned to look at the Phoenix Empress and followed her finger to see that indeed, in that direction, Yao Guang was peacefully lying on the bed. 0

He quickly got out of bed and rushed over. As he approached Yao Guang, who was sleeping soundly with her eyes closed, he involuntarily slowed his pace. He quietly walked to her bedside and observed her; she seemed to be free from the pain she had just endured. 0

Xue watched Yao Guang for a while. 0

The Phoenix Empress stood behind him, amused by her long-time friend's concern for Yao Guang. She hadn't expected Xue to care so much for her; it seemed her efforts in saving the girl were not in vain. 0

"Let's step outside," Xue said, gesturing toward the sleeping Yao Guang as he addressed the Phoenix Empress. 0

Once outside, as Xue carefully closed the door behind him, the Phoenix Empress couldn't help but feel a sense of mischief toward her friend. 0

"Hey, Xue, I never expected that someone as cold-hearted as you used to be would turn out to be so warm and caring now." 0

The voice of the Phoenix Empress was a bit loud, and Xue feared it might wake Yao Guang. The corners of his eyes slightly furrowed; even such a small movement did not escape the notice of the Phoenix Empress. It seemed his friend had completely fallen into love. However, seeing Xue like this was a relief; at least he was no longer the cold-blooded Wheel King from back then. There was finally a hint of warmth in him, and perhaps he was thriving in this environment. After all, being together with someone was always better than being alone. 0

"Phoenix Empress," Xue warned her softly. Even though she was his friend, he didn’t want Yao Guang to hear such talk. 0

"Alright, alright, I won't say anything more!" The Phoenix Empress chuckled, spreading her hands and smiling at Xue. Oh my, she hadn’t expected that just a casual remark would actually make Xue angry. It amused her; it was rare to see him like this, and the air around them felt slightly charged with his irritation. 0

"Phoenix Empress, stop messing around." Xue said helplessly to the Phoenix Empress before him. Did she not realize how unflattering her behavior was? 0

"Okay, okay," the Phoenix Empress replied with a smile. 0

Suddenly, Xue stepped in front of the Phoenix Empress and covered her still-smiling eyes with his large hand. "Stop smiling; it looks really bad." 0

With Xue's hand blocking her view, darkness enveloped her. Was she really that unappealing? Did even Xue notice? 0

For countless years since Candle Dragon had left, she hadn’t taken a serious look at herself. The Phoenix Empress knew that her current appearance wasn’t exactly flattering. 0

"You’re still the same; you don’t leave me any room for affection at all. I thought you had changed!" The Phoenix Empress said to Xue. This man remained unchanged. It seemed that all these years, she was the only one who hadn’t moved forward. That man once promised to take her along with him, yet here she was waiting for so many years and still found herself alone in this place. (To be continued.) 0
