“Yao Guang, come back with me.” 0

After finishing with Mo Yi, Yao Guang and Xue had planned to continue their journey elsewhere. However, they had not traveled far when a celestial being descended from above. 0

Xue watched as the man in black floated in mid-air, clad in a dark battle robe, exuding an aura of ethereal grace. The celestial energy surrounding him was palpable yet contained. 0

Xue had never felt such a formidable opponent before. The way the man approached seemed no different from an ordinary mortal, yet he emanated a pressure akin to a mountain pressing down. Despite having encountered many skilled individuals, Xue felt an unprecedented tension under this weight. 0

This man carried both celestial energy and a hint of murderous intent, and he called out to Yao Guang. Clearly, he was someone familiar with Yao Guang. 0

Upon seeing the man, Yao Guang froze for a moment before joyfully rushing into his embrace. “Big Brother.” 0

Yao Guang leaped into his arms, surprised that his brother had come down to find him. Among the Big Dipper, he was recognized as the Killing Star, while his brother, the Greedy Wolf Star, was unafraid of the killing star and adept at overcoming calamities. Thus, he was also known as the Star of Relief. Since birth, when his brother had yet to regain his memories, he had treated Yao Guang exceptionally well—better than even their mother. In their court, it was always his brother who protected him; matters concerning subduing demons were typically his responsibility as the Star Lord of Killing. Yet time and again, his brother volunteered for those tasks. Over the years, although he rarely spoke to others and often wore a serious expression, he had done countless things behind the scenes to ensure that Yao Guang's life in the court was bearable and that their status within the Big Dipper remained respectable. 0

When Yao Guang called this man "Big Brother," Xue immediately recognized who he was—the Greedy Wolf Star Lord, named Zhu. He was the first-ranked Star Lord of the Big Dipper and also known as Kuaixing, the soul of the Yang Star. This was Xue's first time seeing Zhu in person; indeed, he seemed worthy of being Kuaixing's leader. 0

However, as Xue observed Yao Guang lingering in Zhu's embrace for an extended period, he noticed that Zhu's previously stern demeanor softened significantly after Yao Guang rushed into his arms. The once menacing aura dissipated silently as Yao Guang approached him. It appeared that despite Yao Guang's less than pleasant experiences in court, his family within the Big Dipper still cherished him deeply. 0

Yet perhaps they were embracing for too long; although Zhu was Yao Guang's elder brother, Yao Guang had grown up—there were still boundaries regarding physical affection between men and women that should be respected. 0

Xue sitated to interrupt their joyful reunion but did not want to continue watching them ignore his presence. Clearing his throat a few times seemed like the only way to draw Yao Guang’s attention. 0

"Xue, what's wrong?" Fortunately, the short coughing fit drew Yao Guang's attention. Seizing the moment, Xue pulled Yao Guang from Shu's embrace to his side. Feeling Yao Guang's presence beside him made Xue feel much better. 0

Suddenly, Shu felt an emptiness where Yao Guang had been, and the warmth was replaced by a chilling coldness. In an instant, Shu returned to his indifferent demeanor. He knew this man well. Ever since Yao Guang was banished to the mortal realm, Shu had been secretly watching over her. It was because of this inexplicable man that Yao Guang's already difficult situation became even more challenging. He had always held Yao Guang close, unwilling to let her hands be stained with blood. Yet for this man, Yao Guang had secretly approached the Jade Emperor to request permission to descend and quell some demons. To this day, Shu still remembered that day when Yao Guang acted without his consent to suppress the demons. Although Yao Guang possessed divine power, the malevolent aura surrounding her was too heavy. If it weren't for her limited contact with the demons of the mortal realm over the years, she would have awakened her inner desire for slaughter. As a star of destruction, Yao Guang was one of the three great harbingers of doom. 0

It was for this man that Yao Guang first descended to slay those demons, killing the Black Sea Sharkmen throughout the Nine Provinces. That day, she walked into the court drenched in blood, her pure white garments splattered with crimson like a grand painting. Even her skin, usually as smooth as water, bore a few drops of blood. Her once innocent beauty now appeared somewhat enchanting. 0

Yao Guang carried a spear on her back, its tip still dripping with sharkman blood. Upon seeing her in such a state, the other celestial beings instinctively avoided her, unwilling to approach. It was precisely because of this that Yao Guang received commendation from the Jade Emperor and gained the freedom to enter and exit the mortal realm at will. Thus, she truly made herself known as a formidable force among the celestial beings. 0

The Black Sea Sharkmen were numerous and warlike, renowned for their combat prowess. Erlang Shen once led over a hundred soldiers in battle against them for three nights without success. 0

Yet on that day, Yao Guang brought only twenty soldiers with her. According to those who accompanied her, she single-handedly fought against nearly half of the sharkmen, severing limbs and taking heads; within half a day, she had slain them all. 0

When Shu saw Yao Guang return from battle, he knew that from that day forward, their Big Dipper would attract even more attention from other celestial beings—a situation he wished to avoid at all costs. He was among the first to awaken and thus was also among the first to understand the powers they harbored within them. For this reason, he had been delaying everyone else's awakening. However much he tried to prevent it, his brothers and sister continued to awaken one after another. The powers they gained did not bring them a stable life; especially concerning Yao Guang's strength—she awakened later than others and still could not control her power well. Shu feared that if she lost control for even a moment, it could lead to irreversible consequences. 0

Eventually, just as he had feared, Yao Guang caused a great calamity by secretly approaching Western Buddha to demand teachings while carrying an aura of hostility that made those in the West perceive it as a declaration of war from their court. 0

Fortunately, Buddha acted with compassion and did not pursue any consequences against Yao Guang, preventing an uncontrollable situation from arising. However, in order to provide Buddha with an explanation, the Jade Emperor punished Yao Guang by sentencing her to ten lifetimes of suffering in the mortal realm. Shu secretly pleaded with Destiny Keeper and altered Yao Guang's fate so that she would not endure so much pain in each life. On one hand, he worried about her suffering; on the other hand, he did not want to provoke her inner demons. In her previous life as King Zhou of Shang, she had been led astray by a nine-tailed fox which changed her mindset and ultimately resulted in her becoming cruel and tyrannical towards her people. In this life, Shu hoped that Yao Guang could live peacefully in court without experiencing another cycle of reincarnation. 0

However, he never expected that in this final life, Yao Guang would sneak away. The Jade Emperor still remained unaware of this matter. This man still had some conscience left; he concealed this incident from Yao Guang. Yet even so, Shu's gaze towards Xue remained unfriendly; even before the Jade Emperor himself, Shu would not plead for mercy on behalf of anyone. If it weren't for him, Yao Guang would not have ended up like this—neither human nor celestial—and furthermore, Yao Guang's soul now appeared particularly weak. Did this man not realize he should nourish Yao Guang's spirit? Thinking about this made Shu fear that if it weren't for Yao Guang's thousand-year affection for this man, he might impulsively strike him down. 0

"Elder brother, did you come down here looking for me?" At this moment, Yao Guang had regained her composure after being overwhelmed with joy at reuniting with Shu after such a long time. Her elder brother rarely left his palace except when descending to exterminate demons; seeing him in the mortal realm filled her with disbelief. 0

"I came here to bring you back," Shu said quietly after a moment of silence. He wasn't sure whether this news would be good or bad. 0

"What?" Xue and Yao Guang exclaimed in unison. How could Shu Xing Jun come to take Yao Guang back to the court at this time? Did the Jade Emperor find out about Yao Guang's escape? No, when I returned to the Underworld the other day, I didn't hear Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva or Yama King mention anything about it. Could it be that something happened in the court? Looking at Shu's expression, it seemed he was reluctant to take Yao Guang back now. It appeared that Xue already had his own plans in mind. 0

Seeing the tacit understanding between the two, Shu felt a headache coming on. Although it seemed that Wheel King had a good impression of Yao Guang, if this had been before, Shu would have been pleased to see such a situation. But now, things were getting a bit tricky. Moreover, Shu was unsure which camp Wheel King belonged to now. 0

"Yao Guang, you just need to come back to the court with me for now. I'll explain everything else to you slowly," Shu said, deciding to take Yao Guang back first and discuss the remaining matters later. 0

Xue observed Shu's unwillingness to act in front of him and realized that during the years he had spent leisurely with Yao Guang, some things had happened in the court that he was unaware of. Now, he had no choice but to end Yao Guang's punishment in the mortal realm prematurely. Things were finally about to change. He wondered what position he, Yao Guang, and the Greedy Wolf Star Lord held in all of this. (To be continued.) 0
