After a fierce battle, Lin Yi, whose strength had significantly increased, felt the lingering influence of his bloodthirsty impulses on his mindset. However, he quickly managed to stabilize his emotions. He believed that after this fight, his state of mind would no longer be easily swayed.
Although the number of Zombies in the Nile River was vast, Lin Yi eradicated them all with his Spatial Power. In this battle, the number of survivors in the Nile Defense Zone exceeded ten million, but this was nearly the entire remaining population of Egypt—truly a desolate situation.
Restoring order after the war was naturally left to the locals. Under Lin Yi's recommendation, Ibn established a joint management committee, with himself as President. Lin Yi took on the honorary title of President but did not have to perform any duties, so he accepted without hesitation.
Ibn had been subtly hinting for Lin Yi's help in restoring the capabilities destroyed by the Zombies. However, Lin Yi only considered it for a moment before declining. There were too many strong individuals on this planet, leading to more conflicts; perhaps if everyone were ordinary people, peace might last longer.
Half a day later, members of the Resistance's African division arrived, accompanied by other members of Lin Yi's Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps.
The Resistance was responsible for safeguarding their hard-won achievements and maintaining control over the first city reclaimed since the outbreak of the Second Zombie Crisis! Meanwhile, Lin Yi led his Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps to continue their advance.
Although Lin Yi had killed all the Zombies in the Nile River, he still struggled to come to terms with Witerson II's death. Perhaps only through continuous battles could he slightly alleviate the guilt within him.
This time, Lin Yi's target was the entire region surrounding the Mediterranean; he aimed to eliminate all Zombies in that area! Before setting off, he called upon Froeman. As someone born on the African continent, Froeman felt a duty to protect this land. Therefore, Lin Yi decided to leave him and Oku behind; after all, they were not part of the Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps or even the Mercenary Alliance and had no need to put themselves in danger for Blood Envoy's sake.
As for the other members of the Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps, Lin Yi directly requested a large supply of high-level potential potions from the Resistance, further enhancing everyone's strength. However, to ensure safety, Lin Yi established a strict rule: he must be the first to act in every battle!

The defensive forces in Corsica were not very strong. Even though Zombies knew Lin Yi was coming, they only sent two experts surpassing Ten-Star Peak to guard it; perhaps they were unaware that Lin Yi's next target was Corsica!
In just fifteen minutes, all Zombies with combat power exceeding Five-Star were slaughtered. A few Oceanic Undead appeared as well, but Lin Yi was no longer the same person he once was; he swiftly dispatched them all with ease!
When night fell, Corsica finally awakened from its nightmare—the Zombies had been completely eradicated. However, given that the island had never had a large population to begin with and everyone had turned into corpses, only a few thousand members of the Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps remained on this vast island.
That night, Lin Yi announced that Corsica would become a permanent base for the Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps! Although many within the Resistance voiced their discontent, Lin Yi's formidable presence and their previous misunderstandings leading to guilt ultimately prevented anyone from seriously challenging him.
The Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps had previously earned an astonishing amount of Contribution Points. Although the current United Nations was under Zombie control, the Resistance established another united organization that still recognized previous Contribution Points agreements! However, purchasing related supplies with these Contribution Points would now cost significantly more.
However, the current wealth for Lin Yi and his Mercenary Alliance was merely a number. Although the Resistance faced significant challenges, their combined efforts helped Lin Yi transform the entire Corsica into a super fortress with both offensive and defensive capabilities.
Of course, all of this came at a cost. Lin Yi would be responsible for the campaigns across the Mediterranean region. Together with the Resistance, they aimed to break through Western Europe and Northern Africa.
With the strength of Lin Yi and his Mercenary team, the construction of Corsica took only a week. During this time, there were occasional disturbances from Oceanic Undead or groups of Zombies, but Lin Yi eliminated them all with overwhelming force.
When the eighth sun rose again, Lin Yi hovered in the sky above Corsica with his top combatants.
The sea breeze blew in, carrying a faint salty scent along with the fresh air soaked in morning dew. Lin Yi opened the map in mid-air, and with a soft buzzing sound, a massive three-dimensional projection appeared on the display ring on his arm.
"There are many islands in the Mediterranean, including several large ones. We will first eradicate all Zombies on these islands! These places have few inhabitants and are entirely occupied by Zombies, so we can act without hesitation!"
Lin Yi pointed at Sardinia as he spoke to everyone, where numerous red markers indicated Zombie strongholds.
Sardinia is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean after Sicily. However, due to his special feelings for Corsica, Lin Yi had chosen it as his base.
After selecting their target, everyone nodded in agreement. The current situation called for an all-out confrontation with the Zombies; otherwise, death awaited them!
This time, Lin Yi brought only one hundred people—Nine-Star Masters capable of flight—but he left the temporarily joined Elisa and Wang Zijun behind in Corsica as a precaution.
The distance between the two islands was not far. Lin Yi chose not to use Spatial Power and flew directly towards Sardinia. In just over ten minutes, they arrived above Sardinia.
The Zombies seemed to have sensed Lin Yi's arrival. As soon as he landed, they charged at him without hesitation, unleashing their strongest attacks.
Surrounding Lin Yi were three Super Tier Zombies exceeding ten Star Levels. However, these three Zombies clearly had only rudimentary control over their powers. Lin Yi effortlessly shattered their combined assault!
Yet, Lin Yi had always believed that higher-level combat power Zombies were more afraid of death; however, the current situation was reversed. Those Zombies fought recklessly as if they had no regard for their lives, using moves that aimed for mutual destruction. Several times, Lin Yi nearly fell victim to their attacks, which surprised him greatly.
The skies over Sardinia were filled with Zombies; many even piloted human-made aircraft to engage in suicidal attacks against Lin Yi's group!
Sensing that things were going awry, Lin Yi immediately pulled the three strongest Zombies into his space and quickly separated them before defeating each one swiftly!
Lin Yi was relentless in his assault against the Zombies. Just as he dispatched the last one, that Zombie seemed to have already resigned itself to its fate, detonating all its energy in a desperate self-explosion. If Lin Yi hadn't reacted quickly enough to dodge, he might not have been killed, but he would certainly have sustained serious injuries.
In just a matter of seconds, Lin Yi had dealt with the three Zombies. However, as soon as he emerged from the Alternate Dimension, he felt a wave of panic wash over him.
The next moment, he saw two Zombies closing in from both sides, trapping the squat, fiery dragon in between before it exploded. Following that, explosions erupted across various battlefields! If Lin Yi hadn't responded in time and suppressed the explosive forces with his formidable strength, at least half of the hundred people he had brought along would have been casualties.
In less than a minute, Sardinia seemed to be engulfed in carpet bombing, with dazzling fireballs erupting one after another!
Yet, this single strike resulted in the destruction of more than ten of Lin Yi's Nine-Star Masters, leaving them utterly obliterated. Among them was the fiery dragon with flame Ability, the one who had followed him back in Corsica.
Having experienced the death of Witerson II, Lin Yi's mindset had improved significantly. Although he felt immense guilt, he quickly regained control over the further explosions caused by the Zombies.
As for those Zombies that had lost their mobility, they became targets for the remaining forces. For half an hour, hundreds of battle groups on Sardinia were thrown into chaos, and most of the buildings on the island were completely destroyed.
However, Lin Yi couldn't afford to dwell on that; there would be Resistance forces coming to clean up afterward. His mission was to continue taking down the next Zombie stronghold!
In the days that followed, Lin Yi led his remaining team at an astonishing pace—clearing at least three islands in just three days—wiping out all Zombies across the Mediterranean islands! Yet this process came with sacrifices; many mercenaries who had just reached Nine-Star Level unfortunately fell to the Zombies.
The Mediterranean conflict reached a boiling point. Just as Lin Yi was about to conquer the last island, the Zombies finally organized a large-scale retaliatory attack! This battle lasted throughout the night even with Lin Yi present, and he witnessed just how formidable the Zombies could truly be!
