Though it seemed like only a year had passed since their last meeting, Lin Yi felt his parents had aged significantly. His father's thinning hair was becoming more pronounced, and his eyes appeared less sharp as he squinted at the bustling crowd; the deep lines around his eyes told tales of time.
“Dad—Mom—” Lin Yi quickened his pace but maintained a normal speed; he didn’t want to startle them with his sudden appearance.
“Ah, you’re back,” Lin Father said, trying to contain his emotions despite feeling a surge of excitement at seeing his son safe and sound.
“Did you even remember this family? After being away for so long without a word, do you know your dad and I have been worried sick about you?” Lin Mother’s eyes were already glistening with tears as they streamed down her cheeks.
Lin Yi felt warmth in his heart; home truly was a safe haven. He embraced his parents tightly and promised to spend more time with them in the future, which eased their “blame” towards him.
“This young lady is so beautiful! What’s her name?” At that moment, Lin Mother smiled brightly as she took Ying Sa’s hand affectionately and asked.
"Hello, Auntie, Uncle, I am Ying Sa, Lin Yi's girlfriend!" Ying Sa smiled gently, resembling a summer lotus flower, refreshing to behold.
Upon hearing Ying Sa's words, Lin Father's eyes revealed a complex mix of emotions, and he gestured for Lin Yi to follow him to the side.
They walked a considerable distance of over a hundred meters before Lin Father finally spoke. "What's going on? A while ago, I saw Li being intimate with someone who seemed to be her colleague. Now you suddenly bring home a girlfriend?"
If it were Li Qiweng trying to kill him, Lin Yi might not feel as heartbroken. However, when he heard his father mention that Li Qiweng was close with another man, he felt the last shred of his resolve vanish.

Later, both Lin Father and Lin Mother planned to buy some food at their supermarket to prepare a hearty dinner for them. Meanwhile, Lin Yi and Ying Sa returned home first, ready to enjoy the meal.
As soon as they entered the house, Ying Sa shut the door with a swift motion and turned to pin Lin Yi against the wall, completely disregarding how her figure pressed against him.
"What... what do you want?" Lin Yi felt his breath quicken, a fire igniting in his abdomen that threatened to overwhelm his last bit of clarity.
"I heard what your uncle said. Your aunt also asked me when we would get married. So how about you marry me?"
