For a moment, everyone fell into silence. The fierce battle that had just taken place felt like it happened long ago, yet deep down, they all knew that the real fight might just be beginning.
"What can we do?" the twin brothers asked in unison. As they continued to hone their ability, their thoughts and intentions began to align more closely, which naturally made their shared power grow stronger.
However, when it came to dealing with Zombies, the twin brothers felt uncertain. After all, most Zombies lacked true cognitive abilities.
"Tell them about the Zombies' conspiracy!"
Tina glanced at the Half-Human, Half-Undead around her and spoke up, though her face was filled with helplessness. They were either seen as Zombies or regarded as accomplices of the Zombies; how could anyone possibly believe them?
"It’s impossible in the short term. No one will believe what I say now." Lin Yi looked up at the sky, which was a clear blue, as if washed by water.
Yet after these days of setbacks, a thick layer of dust had settled in Lin Yi's heart. Previously, he held onto a glimmer of hope within the Mercenary Alliance, but now he truly didn’t know whom to trust.
"I have a secret communication line here. I’ll send the situation from this place to the outside world; surely someone will verify our circumstances."
Ying Sa hesitated for a moment but ultimately revealed this secret line.
"Is it reliable?"
The speed at which information could be disseminated was not something Lin Yi could manage alone. Right now, he needed to prove to the world that he was not a Zombie. Even if it meant letting others know about the Zombies' conspiracy, it would be worth it.
"It’s my father's direct line. He holds a high position in the Alliance, and most of the members of my Bloodthirsty Mercenary Group were recruited by him."
A flicker of unease crossed Ying Sa's eyes; clearly, this course of action was not her true desire. Yet for Lin Yi's sake, she felt compelled to proceed despite her discomfort.
Lin Yi noticed Ying Sa's unease as well. However, with an opportunity to share this information with the world at hand—a chance to prove himself—he was unwilling to let it slip away.
"General Floman, do you still have a camera?"
Lin Yi shook his head, seemingly trying to clear his mind.
Froeman nodded. He casually pulled a miniature camera from his pocket. People like them generally avoided modern communication devices, even electronic gadgets, as almost every electronic device had a tracking function, which essentially exposed them to danger.
Lin Yi reached out and took the miniature camera into his hand, then activated it and tossed it into the air where it hovered. The camera projected the images it captured in three-dimensional form before everyone’s eyes.
As the camera moved, the surrounding motionless Half-Human, Half-Undead figures came into view, along with the remnants of the battle. Even the basement that Lin Yi had just sealed was illuminated by the camera once he opened it, revealing everything inside.
Ying Sa was explaining everything while trying to suppress her discomfort at the sight of the bloodied remains. She did not deny Lin Yi's situation and expressed her support for him, stating she was willing to stand up and testify to his identity.
"There was a battle here not long ago. I, Lin Yi, Renesmee, Nicolas, Froeman... we all fought bravely and ultimately defeated a ten Star Level Super Zombie. The people you see now are no longer human; they are Half-Human, Half-Undead beings, creatures raised by Zombies... Zombies need food to evolve and gain greater power.
This is a conspiracy; Zombies may have already infiltrated many places. Throughout this journey, I can prove that Lin Yi is not a Zombie; he has been framed. I hope you can investigate thoroughly; my previous investigation report went missing for no reason, and I suspect there are high-level traitors within the Human Camp.
Since Zombies can control Half-Human, Half-Undead beings, they could very well have infiltrated human society. The spread of the Zombie Virus could be as rapid as during the First Cataclysm; this matter cannot be delayed..."
The footage captured was limited. However, Ying Sa managed to gather a lot of information, with at least one-third of her words aimed at proving Lin Yi was not a Zombie. Yet she did not mention that Lin Yi's body contained the Zombie Virus, as that could provide ammunition for those with ill intentions.
When everything was ready, Ying Sa sent out the data after obtaining Lin Yi's consent. However, at the same time, it also revealed her location.
Lin Yi felt a surge of worry and instinctively glanced around! When his gaze fell upon a nursing woman he had just seen, he was taken aback!
The woman's mouth had inexplicably split open to her ears; her enormous mouth occupied more than three-quarters of her head! Her once-white teeth were now replaced by rows of sharp fangs glistening with droplets of blood!
The baby she had been cradling moments ago was now being lifted toward those sharp teeth!
"No—"
Lin Yi shouted as energy rapidly coalesced in his hands, but the mutated woman suddenly accelerated and shoved the baby's head straight into her mouth!
Then, amidst the astonished gazes of the crowd, the rows of sharp teeth directly severed the fragile neck of the infant. Soon, the remaining body of the baby was swallowed whole by the Mutated Woman.
"They... actually initiated Corpseification on their own..."
These Half-Human, Half-Undead beings posed no immediate threat for now, but the sudden Corpseification clearly indicated that things had taken a turn for the worse!
At that very moment, the woman who had shown no combat power just moments ago experienced a dramatic surge in strength, suddenly breaking through to Two-Star combat power!
Before anyone could recover from their shock, a series of roars erupted around them. The previously dazed Half-Human, Half-Undead beings suddenly let out a loud howl and pounced on their companions like wild beasts. They opened their mouths and began to tear into their fellow beings, devouring their flesh!
A few reckless Half-Human, Half-Undead attempted to attack Lin Yi and his group but were swiftly reduced to a pile of black and red minced meat with a mere wave of their hands.
Exchanging glances, the group nodded in agreement. In the next moment, several figures blurred and disappeared from sight.
When they reappeared, they were already outside the walls.
"Ice—Seal—Domain—Seal!"
A delicate voice rang gently in their ears, and immediately the temperature around them plummeted. Ice crystals swept across the entire wall with an even greater force than Lin Yi's earlier Frozen Domain manifestation!
In just a moment, the originally yellowish wall transformed into a crystal-clear castle. The continuous roars that had been echoing moments before vanished entirely!
Though this place was desolate, it was not far from the sea. Thus, under Renesmee's full exertion, the power of Frozen Domain was formidable. In just a blink of an eye, all those Half-Human, Half-Undead who had attempted to devour their companions to evolve were completely encased in ice.
Then, a massive Silver Energy Sphere appeared in Lin Yi's hand, within which seemed to be a pulsating crimson entity.
In the next moment, with a single wave of his hand, Lin Yi sent the energy sphere "whooshing" into the icy castle. The once solid ice walls appeared defenseless against it as the energy sphere burrowed into the center of the castle.
"Step back a bit; the explosion might be quite powerful!"
After a few flashes, the figures of the group appeared three miles away. Lin Yi, the first to arrive, furrowed his brow. Just as the others materialized, a faint energy wave emanated from him, transforming into a fine line that swiftly darted away and vanished!
At the moment the energy line disappeared, a loud explosion erupted three miles away! Several individuals with considerable strength witnessed ice crystals mixed with countless grains of dirt and gravel shooting outwards in all directions. The debris struck the ground with a thundering sound; even an armored vehicle caught within this impact zone would likely be reduced to a sieve.
Lin Yi nodded in satisfaction. The earlier incident with the Fat Zombie detonating its energy spear had inspired him. He had learned to condense and release energy externally, then detonated it using his Psychic Power, achieving unexpectedly excellent results.
As a result, those who were on the verge of complete Corpseification as Half-Human, Half-Undead had been reduced to mere fragments, unable to revive no matter what.
At that moment, Ying Sa approached Lin Yi with a smile, raising her wrist communicator as she said, "My father has already sent word; the First Speaker from the Pacific Theater will come to discuss matters with us!"
Ying Sa was also part of the Mercenary Alliance, though Lin Yi had previously been unaware that her father was also involved. In Lin Yi's eyes, this man was someone who could have almost become his Future Father-in-Law, shrouded in an enigmatic veil.
"The Mercenary Alliance is indeed powerful, but surely they can't convince everyone that I'm not a Zombie?" Lin Yi hesitated, concerned that this might be another conspiracy.
"Many members of the Mercenary Alliance hold multiple identities and wield significant influence across various countries. As long as they support us, your situation will likely be resolved quickly," Ying Sa reassured him.
Just then, a sudden surge of intense energy waves resonated through the air, followed by several formidable presences emerging. Lin Yi's Psychic Power had not yet fully recovered, but he could sense the overwhelming strength of the newcomers; even if they exerted their utmost effort, resisting them would be nearly impossible!
