Lin Yi's Psychic Power was incredibly strong. In an instant, he sensed that they had only sustained minor injuries and posed no real threat. The next moment, Lin Yi's figure blurred and he appeared right in front of everyone.
"Where did you get this Submarine?" After confirming that they were standing on a Submarine, Lin Yi was taken aback. The Submarine could only belong to the military, and the people currently pursuing him were rarely connected to the military. If he offended the military because of a Submarine, it was likely that even more people would come after him. Although Lin Yi had never truly witnessed the military's strength, he knew it was far greater than that of Mercenaries.
"Boss, don't worry. This Elizabeth-Class Submarine has been missing from military records for a long time; we stumbled upon it by chance. Right now, our options are limited, and this ocean might actually be the safest place. This Submarine, which we've named 'Rover,' may be the only territory we can rely on!" At this point, a hint of desolation flashed across Renesmee's face. Even when she hid among humans as a vampire, she had never felt the need to hide as much as she did now.
After hearing Renesmee's words, Lin Yi scanned the entire Submarine with his Psychic Power and discovered that it was surprisingly large, with a displacement nearing ten thousand tons. Just one living area could accommodate hundreds of people, and there were even torpedoes and submarine-launched Missiles in the weapons bay. Unfortunately, although Lin Yi didn't understand the power system, it appeared to be just a conventional one. The fact that such a large Submarine had gone missing made Lin Yi wonder what had happened.
A few years ago, Zombies were rampant, and there were many giant marine creatures undergoing Corpseification in the ocean. While this Submarine was indeed massive, it would be vulnerable to attacks from High-Level Combat Power marine Corpseification beasts. It seemed likely that this Submarine had been unable to escape due to the Zombie crisis and had ended up drifting freely until it eventually disappeared.
After carefully scanning the Submarine with his Psychic Power and finding nothing unusual, Lin Yi signaled for everyone to enter first.
Lin Yi remained curious about everything outside. Logically speaking, since the enemy had already grasped his movements, they wouldn't have sent hunters who could be easily defeated by Renesmee and her group!
Froeman had spent over a decade as a frontline Submarine soldier and was well-versed in its structure. Naturally, he took charge of piloting the Submarine this time.
Under Froeman's increasingly skilled operation, this dark elf of the ocean slowly descended into the deep sea. Fortunately, this Submarine was highly automated; once Froeman set the program, it essentially nestled into a trench over a thousand meters deep where the terrain was concealed and hard to detect.
During this time, Lin Yi finally learned what Renesmee and her group had encountered earlier. They had originally planned to lie low at this fishing port location, ready to serve as Lin Yi's backup. Being close to the sea allowed Renesmee to maximize her combat effectiveness here, and with few people around, it was an excellent hiding spot.
Renesmee was also one of the strongest fighters aside from Lin Yi. Utilizing her Frozen Domain could buy Lin Yi considerable time. However, shortly after they arrived here, they were immediately surrounded by a large group of people.
Leading this group was Chairman Cook, who silently engaged everyone in battle! Cook was a super soldier born from human potential drugs—his combat prowess was extraordinary. Renesmee immediately unleashed her Frozen Domain to counter him!
Strangely enough, among the others present, only two were Eight-Star Level experts; the rest could only be considered elite Special Forces soldiers who hadn't reached Star-Level Combat Power! The twin brothers' illusions quickly trapped these soldiers in their own hallucinations, rendering them powerless!
Froeman held back one Eight-Star Level expert while Oku and Tina teamed up against another. Tina's Corruption Ability was relentless; within less than a minute, this unfortunate Eight-Star Level expert inexplicably rotted away completely, leaving blood and flesh scattered everywhere!
Seeing this situation unfold, another expert immediately turned to flee. Poor Cook found himself trapped in Frozen Domain while Renesmee reigned as its absolute queen inside. Although Cook possessed considerable combat strength, once ensnared within it, he lacked sufficient power to break through Renesmee's Frozen Domain!
After successfully killing a master of Eight Star Level, Oku disregarded everything and charged directly into the soldiers trapped in the illusion!
Seeing this, Cook had no choice but to keep everyone in check, allowing the other soldiers to escape first. In the end, knowing he couldn't win, he retreated! Even though he couldn't break through Renesmee's Frozen Domain, escaping was still quite easy for someone with strength surpassing the usual Nine Star Level. Just as Cook left, Lin Yi tore through space and arrived!
After listening to Renesmee's explanation, Lin Yi couldn't help but furrow his brow; there was something suspicious about this situation. It even felt like the Mercenary Alliance didn't want to deal with him; otherwise, they wouldn't have let things slide so easily. The alliance had never lacked masters; the Judgment Division could easily send five experts to deal with him, so it was impossible that they couldn't send two Nine Star Level masters to confront Renesmee and her group!
With no other option, Lin Yi first looked at Tina and asked, "Why do you think they sent such a weak pursuit force this time?"
Tina was lost in thought. Hearing Lin Yi's question made her blush slightly, and with a hint of nervousness, she replied, "Captain, I think there are two factions within the alliance. One faction believes you are a Zombie and wants to kill you, while the other still considers you one of their own!"
"Considering me one of their own is a stretch, but Chairman Cook probably doesn't want to kill me!" Lin Yi narrowed his eyes. The Mercenary Alliance's actions could have been swift, yet they hesitated; clearly, they were leaving him a way out.
What was even stranger was that his Vice Chairman privileges hadn't been revoked. This indicated that there were divisions within the Mercenary Alliance. However, it seemed that the faction wanting to kill him still held the upper hand; otherwise, they wouldn't have resorted to encirclement.
"Currently, everything about this situation is filled with oddities. Even their simple aim of eliminating me doesn't fully explain the entire event! While my personal strength is relatively strong, it shouldn't pose a threat to the entire world. Their relentless pursuit of me might just be a facade!"
At this point, Lin Yi felt increasingly uneasy, especially recalling Jimmy's words before his death. Clearly, he had fallen into a massive whirlpool. It was just that this whirlpool was so vast that Lin Yi couldn't even sense its existence. Yet it undoubtedly existed; he simply hadn't noticed enough.
Jimmy's words were relayed by Kofi. As someone who had been active on the world stage for decades, Kofi should know a lot. However, even he lacked the ability to unravel the entire incident; he merely sensed something was off!
Thinking this way left Lin Yi astonished! He had always viewed the problem too simplistically when in reality, the entire incident might just be a superficial issue.
"Captain Lin is right; over the past year or so, Zombies have nearly been eradicated. Yet suddenly, many civilian Zombie hunting teams have emerged, causing widespread panic. However, during my year in Nairobi, I found no evidence of Zombies infiltrating.
These groups seem to stir up trouble and have reportedly killed quite a few people. Yet it appears some force is backing them since they've managed to operate without incident!
The strange occurrences don't stop there; after the Zombie Crisis ended, numerous construction companies suddenly appeared in the inner city, desperately reinforcing Plateau's defensive walls! Such actions are inherently abnormal, but I can't fathom their reasons—are they trying to imprison us all within these walls?"
Froeman had just settled down to rest when he immediately rose at Lin Yi's words, a question forming in his mind. He always felt something strange, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
"I've seen the general's condition before; in fact, one of my former teammates was killed by those people. And they are not ordinary individuals—the one who killed my teammate was a master with Eight-Star Combat Power!"
At this thought, a fierce glint flashed in Lin Yi's eyes. If possible, he would definitely want to eliminate all those despicable people!
"Thus, the outside world is not as simple as we imagined. And if Mr. Cook is on our side, he must know something!"
Renesmee had just exerted her Frozen Domain with all her strength, and her complexion now appeared somewhat unhealthy, even her voice lacking vitality.
"Did Cook say anything to you?"
Lin Yi looked up at Renesmee, feeling an overwhelming sense of guilt. At this moment, the person beside him was a member of the vampire clan, which humans often regarded with disdain—a stark irony indeed!

"Logically speaking, a master at the Nine-Star Level should have exceptional memory and eyesight. The possibility of him mistaking someone is very low. Besides, you two don't even look alike; how could he make such a mistake?" Lin Yi stroked his chin, his expression filled with confusion.
"Perhaps he was trying to remind us of something," Nicolas, who had been silent until now, said as he looked at everyone, speaking slowly and deliberately.
