"Get out of the way! I’m asking about the members of Blood Envoy!" Lin Yi glared at Tall Man like a ferocious beast.
Wu Hao glanced at Lin Yi and then activated a portable device, projecting a three-dimensional image in front of everyone. First came the scene from United Nations Square that had occurred not long ago, showing only Lin Yi's test results matching those of the Zombie, along with Aibolon declaring Lin Yi as a Zombie.
"You are a Zombie; this explains why you are so powerful on your own!" Wu Hao's cold voice struck at Lin Yi's heart repeatedly, making him feel something begin to shatter within.
"Honestly, I don’t know why I am this strong. But I believe I am not a Zombie!" Lin Yi forced a bitter smile at everyone. What could he do? The evidence was right in front of them.
"You are a Zombie; we all know it. You can accept Lulu's dark energy but cannot bear the truth!" Wu Hao continued, producing another piece of evidence—a video taken at an unknown time. It showed Lin Yi receiving treatment from Lulu’s dark energy and subsequently recovering.
Lin Yi was shocked. When was this video taken? He truly didn’t know. Looking at Wu Hao, he realized he seemed to have never truly known this person; an unfamiliarity washed over him.
"I am not!"
Lin Yi spoke each word deliberately as he looked at the others. He hoped for some support. But it seemed as if these people had suddenly become completely unrelated to him. Not a single person spoke up for him.
"Lin Yi, here’s the deal: if you surrender now, you might suffer less. Otherwise, you’ll have plenty to cry about later!" Tall Man took a few steps toward Lin Yi, his face filled with smug satisfaction. Everything was going according to his plan; he had successfully tracked down Lin Yi!
"Surrender? If I wanted to leave, who among you could stop me?"
Although Lin Yi didn’t understand what exactly had happened for everyone to betray him so suddenly, he believed this must be the work of those who wished him dead!
"Don’t think too highly of yourself; if you dare to run today, what awaits you is a lifetime of endless pursuit!"
Just as Lin Yi was about to retort, he suddenly felt a terrifying aura descend upon him, followed by an invisible force that locked him down completely.
"You—" Lin Yi glared with wide eyes, his face flushed. In that fleeting moment, a power he couldn't even react to had directly imprisoned him.
This power was different from Psychic Power; it was a tangible energy form, albeit invisible.
"This time it's not me," the Tall Man shrugged and took a few steps back, his demeanor tinged with a hint of respect.
Then, a red figure descended from the sky!
When Lin Yi saw that red figure, his eyelids twitched. However, as a possibility crossed his mind, he immediately shook his head repeatedly.
"Kill him!" A cold, emotionless voice emanated from the red figure. The chill in the tone made Lin Yi feel as if his very soul froze in that instant.
"You can't target Captain!"
Benito suddenly appeared in front of Lin Yi, followed closely by Ouyang Shasha. They had just sneaked over and were met with this shocking scene, their hearts churning with turmoil.
At that moment, a blood-red beam of light shot out and pierced Benito's forehead before anyone could react.
In the next instant, Benito's eyes widened in disbelief as he collapsed to the ground!
"Wen! You actually killed our teammate!" Lin Yi pointed at the familiar yet strange red figure with a trembling voice.
"First, I am your enemy! Second, Zombie's teammates deserve to die too!" Li Qiweng showed no remorse whatsoever and didn't even turn around.
"Why? Why are you doing this?" Even if the world betrayed him, as long as Li Qiweng was there, Lin Yi wouldn't feel alone.
But at this moment, even Li Qiweng seemed like a stranger to him.
"Did you not hear me tell you to shoot?"
Li Qiweng did not answer Lin Yi's question; instead, she looked at the crowd and questioned them with an expressionless face.
At that moment, Lin Yi was bound by a mysterious force. Although he was confident that he could break free with all his strength, his mind was completely captivated by the red figure before him.
"Since we have already captured it, why kill it? Bringing it back would also provide an explanation for everyone!"
Just then, the Tall Man raised his hand, signaling everyone to hold their actions. He slowly walked over to Li Qiweng and respectfully asked, "Li, keep it imprisoned; it still has its uses."
Lin Yi watched as Li Qiweng, who had been facing away from him, suddenly turned around. Her hair was still tied up in a high ponytail, and her handsome features remained unchanged. "You are mistaken because you are no longer Lin Yi. The Lin Yi I loved is dead; therefore, I am not the Li Qiweng you think I am! You have devolved into a Zombie; you are a demon from hell!"
Li Qiweng's delicate face flushed with emotion as a few streaks of crimson appeared on her cheeks.
The last shred of doubt in Lin Yi's heart dissipated. He had thought that Li Qiweng was left with no choice, but when he saw the sadness hidden deep in her eyes moments ago, he understood. At this moment, Li Qiweng still remembered him; she just believed that the current Lin Yi was no longer the Lin Yi she once knew.
"Alright, Mr. Zombie, you should come back with us obediently! Your former teammates and wife do not have hearts as hard as yours; they wouldn't truly want to kill you!"
As soon as the Tall Man finished speaking, a uniquely shaped vehicle drove in. Lin Yi's eyelids twitched; he knew that this was where he would soon be imprisoned.
"Nobody is allowed to touch our boss!" Nicolas exclaimed with pain on his face as he broke free from Renesmee's grasp and stood resolutely in front of Lin Yi.
"Nicolas!"
"Nick!"
Lin Yi and Renesmee shouted simultaneously, both nervously watching Li Qiweng to prevent her from suddenly attacking Nicolas.
"Ice Sister, if it weren't for our boss these years, I wouldn't even know where I would be hiding in some dark corner! Now I can't just stand by and watch my boss go to his death; I would never forgive myself for it!"
Nicolas looked at Renesmee with regret. He understood what it meant to step forward now, yet he did it anyway!
“Wen, I beg you for one last thing—let them go!” Lin Yi ignored Nicolas and the others, focusing intently on Li Qiweng's eyes as he spoke each word deliberately.
“Mr. Zombie, you can barely protect yourself, and yet you worry about others!” The Tall Man waved his hand, and the sealed alloy cage on the vehicle opened.
“Please, Mr. Zombie, your three subordinates will receive the judgment they deserve!”
At that moment, Lin Yi found himself bound by invisible chains. Under the oppressive force, he couldn't tear through space to escape. Just moments ago, he had tried to use his Psychic Power to gauge Li Qiweng's strength and was shocked to discover that with the War God Suit, she had already reached a combat power of ten Star Level!
As Lin Yi suspected, the invisible chains binding him were likely created by Li Qiweng. Her true strength must have reached nine Star Level. The invisible chains were indeed her Bestow Unique Ability.
