The walls of Satellite City, though not as tall as those of Main City, were impressively thick. The charred and damaged areas on the walls were a stark reminder of the fierce battles that had taken place here.
Even now, with no fighting occurring, the stench of blood lingered in the air, filling the surroundings with an aura of death. As Lin Yi's forces advanced to the base of the walls, those responsible for defending Satellite City intensified their fire coverage. The zombies posed no immediate threat to Lin Yi's troops, allowing them to rush into the city during this brief window.
Inside Satellite City was simpler than Lin Yi had imagined; most of it consisted merely of tents. Even the command center was just a basic square White Building. Most soldiers had set up camp directly on the walls! The majority were ordinary soldiers, with hardly any elite Special Forces in sight. However, in such a large-scale battle, even a nine Star Level Super Expert could find themselves facing death at any moment.
To Lin Yi's surprise, he was greeted by a young officer in his twenties, who turned out to be the highest-ranking commander there.
With a crisp salute upon seeing Lin Yi for the first time, the officer displayed a determined expression on his face, hardened by the brutal realities of war that had accelerated his growth.
"Hello, Commander Lin. I am Riel, the eighth city defense officer of Satellite City No. 4. I hope to work closely with you!" The young commander slightly bowed his head.
Lin Yi noticed that the officer held only a Captain's rank on his shoulder insignia, while there were at least ten thousand members in the City Defense Force. Clearly, a Captain could not command such a large force alone.
At that moment, Jiao Jiao stepped forward and said, "This Defense Zone has lost seven commanders over the past year. The highest rank here was originally Colonel; it seems he must not have had time to return to Main City for his promotion ceremony!"
As the intelligence officer, Jiao Jiao had made sure to gather information about the situation before their army set out.
Lin Yi nodded, feeling a newfound respect for this young commander. Having also served in defense roles himself, he understood how difficult it was to hold out against zombie sieges.
"I'm glad to be working alongside you, Officer Riel. I am Lin Yi, acting Commander of the Nile Expeditionary Force and Captain of the Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps."
Lin Yi extended his hand for a shake, and Riel reciprocated promptly.
"Commander Lin is too modest. You are now in charge here. I am merely here to assist you!" The young officer's face showed relief; indeed, the pressure of city defense was something few could bear.
"No, no, no! I have no intention of taking your position," Lin Yi quickly waved his hands; he wasn't there to usurp authority.
"Commander Lin is too humble. Your leadership of one hundred thousand troops sweeping across the Sahara Desert has already become legendary. It is our greatest honor that you are here to lead us in battle. Moreover, Ambassador Commander has personally ordered that all defense matters here be entrusted to Commander Lin!"
Lin Yi felt a sense of helplessness and could only nod in agreement. He understood that the pressure on the city’s defenses was greater than ever, and relying solely on this commander with only Three-Star Combat Power would likely be insufficient to fend off the Zombie's Attack.
However, there was still a presence of an Eight-Star Combat Power expert and ten Seven-Star Level Combat Power specialists stationed here. Yet, they were not under Riel's command; they were responsible for dealing with High-Level Zombies only when they attacked.
These High-Level Combat Power experts came from Main City and would not risk their lives unless absolutely necessary. After all, the real battle was among those High-Level Combatants, and there was no need for them to sacrifice themselves so early.
Lin Yi had been authorized to take over the defense of this Satellite City, but those eleven experts were not under his command. Nonetheless, Lin Yi didn’t mind; with his strength, he could single-handedly withstand the combined attacks of those eleven experts.
After a brief handover, Lin Yi began directing his troops to take over most of the city’s defense work. When the soldiers on the walls heard that Lin Yi himself was overseeing the defense, they were so excited that they nearly shouted out loud. In less than a year, Lin Yi had already been promoted to a legendary figure.
He was seen as a hero in the eyes of ordinary people, a king-like existence. Now, being able to fight under such a leader filled everyone’s faces with immense pride.
Lin Yi wore a smile, but inwardly he couldn’t help but sigh—should he be happy or angry?
After days of intense combat, these soldiers were utterly exhausted. One soldier even lay down on the mottled ground and fell asleep as soon as he heard he could rest.

Satellite City No. 4 was located on the essential route to Main City, making its strategic position undeniable. The three previously breached Satellite Cities were also situated along this route, but they were positioned even closer to the front lines and faced fiercer Zombie attacks.
When those three Satellite Cities fell, this one became the true frontline. Lin Yi was now truly at the center of danger; any misstep could lead to total defeat.
The Zombies were not foolish either. Just as Lin Yi's forces began taking over the city defenses, they prepared a new offensive, intending to strike while Lin Yi's troops were still unsteady.
“Roar—” This time, the Zombies did not choose a direct assault; instead, they started hurling sharp iron spears from afar!
Hundreds of iron spears flew through the air with a piercing whistle, carrying an overwhelming momentum toward Satellite City No. 4. Each spear possessed enough force to pierce through ordinary armor!
Lin Yi never expected Zombie to give him a warning shot. In an instant, his Psychic Power surged forth, sweeping toward the iron spear that shot forward!
However, just as he released his power, he felt an overwhelming force rushing in, causing a painful pressure in his mind. The iron spear thrown by Zombie seemed to form a kind of mutual support formation!
The others’ Psychic Powers were naturally far inferior to Lin Yi's, so they began firing their Laser Guns at the spears!
Douglas directly manipulated his seven specially forged throwing knives, sending them flying into the mass of spears.
The sound of intense metal clashing echoed through the air, accompanied by a buzzing resonance all around.
In an instant, dozens of iron spears were severed by Douglas's knives, falling one after another!
"Blade Brother, well done!" someone shouted loudly, and the others joined in with cheers!
This time, most of the iron spears were cut down by Douglas in an instant, while Lin Yi's Psychic Power blocked their momentum, causing many to drop as well.
At that moment, more iron spears filled the sky, densely packed with no less than ten thousand!
What had just happened was merely an appetizer; this time it was serious! Lin Yi's heart sank. Although Zombie's iron spears seemed weak individually, once the scale increased, they posed a tremendous threat to the entire Defense Zone!
"This time I'll do my best for everyone!" A light voice rang out as Lulu suddenly appeared before them. She straightened her chest and lightly twisted her waist, her hands rapidly changing positions!
In the next moment, thick black gas surged wildly from Lulu's body! As the whistling of the iron spears drew closer, the rolling black mist suddenly billowed into the air, instantly darkening the entire space.
The dense black gas covered the sun, creating an overwhelming sense of impending doom that swept across the scene.
Subsequently, all the incoming iron spears were devoured by the swirling black gas and failed to emerge again. However, Lulu's face turned pale as beads of sweat rolled down her forehead; clearly, she could not sustain this power for long!
"This time it's my turn!" A clear female voice rang out as a graceful white figure appeared in everyone's sight.
"Ice Sister!" Nicolas looked at Renesmee, who was standing on the wall with concern. He dashed towards her, using his Consciousness to ensure her safety.
Suddenly, the air in the entire space tightened as if it were being sucked dry. The previously cool breeze transformed into a howling cold wind. The Defense Zone, which should not have experienced such temperatures, now exhibited an unusually low temperature, causing the unaware soldiers to become restless.
"Everyone, make sure to keep warm! The air will return to normal soon!" Lin Yi shouted towards the inner city. This Ability was indeed difficult to explain in a short time.
At that moment, the wind speed began to pick up, and the previously still mass of black energy started to swirl under the force of the wind.
"Lulu, just hold on for another half minute!"
Renesmee's face was drenched in sweat, clearly exerting all her strength to maintain the Frozen Domain.
As soon as she finished speaking, a fierce wind suddenly whipped around her. The temperature continued to drop, and everyone's breath turned into a misty cloud.
Even the sweat that had just emerged from the battle turned into frost, clinging tightly to their skin!
Then, Renesmee's figure blurred as ice crystals surrounding her shot into the air, encircling the black energy surrounding Lulu.
In the next moment, the black energy continued to churn, while the white frost covering it increased at a visible speed.
