A sudden gust of wind swept through the wilderness, stirring up the yellow sand that rolled endlessly, seemingly trying to confuse everyone's eyes.
Lin Yi waved his hand, attempting to clear away the endless mist. He wanted to understand what these Zombies were up to. However, the Zombies did not communicate with him, and there was no way to comprehend their intentions; all they could do was keep moving forward, constantly responding to the situation!
"Open the city gates! We must enter immediately to rescue those trapped inside!" Lin Yi glanced at the city gate not far away, which was merely constructed from simple wooden planks.
For the humans trapped here, even if they managed to escape, facing the vast expanse of yellow sand would ultimately lead them to a dead end! The Zombies were certainly aware of this as well, which is why they had built a Cage here.
Witerson II led a group of people in armored vehicles, roaring toward the city gate, while Lin Yi directed the remaining soldiers to establish a defensive line around the perimeter. Another portion was dispatched to investigate the surrounding situation!
"The Zombies will not easily give up their stronghold, so they must have other plans. I hope everyone will be thorough during the search and prioritize safety!"
Lin Yi reminded the search teams. They had traveled thousands of miles to reach this place but still had not been able to engage in a decisive battle with the Zombies. In Lin Yi's view, this operation was a failure. However, he would not give up easily; he believed he would encounter that group of Zombies again.
"Yes! Commander!" In recent days, praise for Lin Yi had been pouring in from various Defense Zones, and gradually these soldiers began to recognize him.
In the eyes of ordinary people, Lin Yi had become a king-like figure. During this operation, he consistently displayed god-like combat prowess, and these soldiers had secretly begun to worship him.

At this moment, Witerson II and his team had already broken through the flimsy wooden city gate. However, Lin Yi noticed that those inside seemed oblivious to everything around them. They remained motionless on the ground.
"Witerson II, let me go in first!" As Lin Yi spoke, he swiftly moved forward and covered several dozen meters in an instant, reaching Witerson II's side.
As he got closer, Lin Yi felt even more astonished. The shock was visually overwhelming! The open space before him spanned no less than a million square meters, densely packed with naked men and women. Most of them kept their heads down, making it difficult to see their faces. A few raised their heads but wore expressions of confusion; their faces were bruised and appeared severely frostbitten.
Lin Yi felt a sense of fear; these fellow humans looked even more terrifying than the Zombies at that moment. However, it was merely an illusion; Lin Yi sensed that they were ordinary people with no fighting capability whatsoever.
"May I ask where you all came from?" Lin Yi hesitantly reached out toward a Green-Faced Man who was staring blankly ahead.
Yet the man seemed oblivious to everything around him and remained frozen in his dazed position. Tens of thousands sat there in silence; the more Lin Yi thought about it, the more he felt something was amiss.
“ Witerson II, call Aik over to take a look at what’s going on with these people!”
After several attempts, Lin Yi discovered that these individuals, aside from being able to breathe, had completely lost all human capabilities.
Aik didn’t dare to be careless. He immediately began his examination upon arrival. However, as soon as his hand made contact with the skin of the Green-Faced Man, he recoiled in shock, exclaiming, “His skin is so cold!”
Upon hearing this, Lin Yi couldn’t help but reach out to touch it as well, only to find that the man’s skin felt like a piece of Eternal Ice, chilling to the bone.
“This is bad; his breath is getting weaker and weaker. He’s about to freeze to death!” The life detector on Aik’s wrist suddenly emitted an alarm. Seeing the readings on the device startled him!
At that moment, the Naked People around Lin Yi suddenly began collapsing one by one onto the ground. It looked as if they had been toppled like a Multi-Bone Domino, everyone falling limp at the same time.
The Green-Faced Man before Lin Yi also swayed unsteadily, on the verge of slumping down onto the ground.
“Quick, save him!” Lin Yi knew that in order to understand what was happening, they had to save at least one person!
Without hesitation, Aik pulled out a pre-prepared Reagent from the medical kit and injected it directly into the body of the Green-Faced Man. Lin Yi noticed it was a highly effective Stimulant, extremely expensive!
Once injected, the man who had been hanging on by a thread quickly regained some vitality. Even his previously stiff face twitched a few times, and his lips parted slightly, though he couldn’t speak.
“Wu Hao! Wu Hao, come here quickly!” Lin Yi shouted towards the door. Wu Hao had the ability to read minds and could understand others' thoughts without direct communication.
A shadow flashed outside; it was Wu Hao. After hearing Lin Yi’s shouts, he rushed over at high speed with the assistance of a nearby High-Level Mercenary.
“This person can’t speak right now; you need to see what he wants!” Although some Stimulant had been administered, the man still looked unwell, likely due to severe torment.
Without any hesitation, Wu Hao unleashed a strange wave of energy from his body, disregarding that Aik was still treating the Green-Faced Man.
Lin Yi felt his heart leap into his throat. With everyone else essentially lifeless, this Green-Faced Man was their only hope.
A few seconds later, Wu Hao's expression suddenly changed as he turned to Lin Yi and said, "I can hear his mind repeating the word 'Zombie' over and over!"
"Zombie?" Lin Yi furrowed his brow, instinctively stroking his chin. "Prepare to search the city!"
Witerson II took a quick step back and waved to those still outside the city. Not far away, Ibn exchanged glances with the senior officers, and they all nodded in unison before heading towards the city.
The soldiers moved swiftly, neatly arranging the fallen Frozen Men in a line, leaving a path wide enough for two armored vehicles to pass side by side.
"Leave a hundred men to burn these dead Fellow Compatriots!" Seeing the lifeless bodies lying naked on the ground, Lin Yi felt an indescribable pang of sorrow.
Once upon a time, humanity was the highest existence in this realm, their interests above all else. But now, lives were as worthless as weeds. Even if corpses lay exposed in the wilderness, aside from Zombies, there were few living souls willing to spare them a glance.
After clearing the road, Lin Yi prepared to leave. The future was uncertain, but he had no reason to give up, even if ahead lay mountains of knives and seas of fire!
"Zombie!" At that moment, Lin Yi suddenly heard a scream!
Almost instinctively, Lin Yi's Psychic Power spread out, instantly locking onto the location of the Zombie—it was that Green-Faced Man from earlier!
The Green-Faced Man's eyes bulged as his bony hand tightly gripped Aik's neck. Caught off guard, Aik dropped the instrument he was holding and desperately tried to break free. However, this man was incredibly strong; even Aik, with Three-Star Combat Power, was on the verge of losing consciousness.
Lin Yi turned around and in the next moment vanished from sight, raising a cold glint high.
"Serum!" Just as Lin Yi's blade was about to strike the neck of the corpse-like man, Aik managed to squeeze out two words. His eyes were nearly popping out of his head, and his dark skin had turned a deep red.
With a swoosh, Lin Yi threw his Silver Soul Battle Blade into the air. As he caught it with one hand, he seized the already Corpseified Zombie.
In a blur, Lin Yi yanked the Zombie's hand off Aik's neck.
"Cough cough—" Aik coughed as he opened his medical kit and pulled out a vial of blue liquid, filling it into a syringe.
Lin Yi had already taken control of the struggling Zombie, but it was still in the process of Corpseification and had not fully transformed into a Zombie.
Aik moved quickly, almost in the blink of an eye, as he injected a needle into the Zombie's neck.
In just a few seconds, the Zombie's frantic emotions calmed down, and its originally Scarlet eyes gradually returned to their normal black color.
"Am I... are you all Zombies?" The effects of the Serum took hold swiftly, and the Green-Faced Man's expression returned to normal. He looked around and noticed a group of strangely dressed individuals, his voice trembling as he asked.
Lin Yi shook his head, but internally he made a judgment: there had been Nine-Star Combat Power Zombies here before. Only such Zombies could almost completely resemble humans, which explained why this man had mistaken them.
"Right, the Zombies are gone. They left us here and fed us medicine," the Green-Faced Man seemed to recall something and murmured.
"Where did the Zombies go?" Lin Yi exclaimed in surprise. Could it be that all of this was part of a plan by the Zombies?
"Heh, how would I know? I'm just a dead man now." The Green-Faced Man looked ashen and slumped to the ground.
"This is bad; it's a Zombie's golden cicada shedding its shell strategy. Their main force has already escaped!"
A flash of insight struck Lin Yi's mind, and he quickly reacted!
