Giving someone a rose leaves a lingering fragrance on your hands. Lin Yi's soft-hearted gesture had earned him a loyal follower. The chosen battlefield was located not far from South City, and as they passed through South City, over a thousand mercenaries who had stayed behind also set out.
Just yesterday, the Zombies were unwilling to back down and sent three Eight-Star Combat Power Zombies to launch a surprise attack! At that moment, the mercenaries left behind by Lin Yi were the strongest force in South City, and there was no time for reinforcements. The three Zombies opted for a direct ambush!
Fortunately, with the War God Suit left by Lin Yi, six of the strongest mercenaries donned the suits. Remarkably, one Seven-Star Level mercenary managed to unleash Eight-Star Combat Power, while another Six-Star mercenary nearly matched that level! With two Eight-Star Level and four Seven-Star Peak mercenaries facing off against three Eight-Star Combat Power Zombies, after less than a minute of fierce combat, they managed to eliminate one of the Zombies. The remaining two Zombies quickly retreated upon realizing the odds were against them. On the mercenary side, only one person sustained minor injuries and was currently receiving treatment at the City Defense Force hospital.
Upon hearing the accounts from the mercenaries, Lin Yi decided to check on the injured mercenary. Naturally, Hai had to accompany him; with her Divine Technique's healing abilities, anyone who wasn't dead could likely be saved.
They arrived at a makeshift tent where only one nurse remained to care for the injured. The wounded mercenary had yet to regain consciousness. It was then that Lin Yi realized he wasn't familiar with this mercenary's name and took a moment to recall it.
"Roman, how are you?" The man in his thirties on the bed had a stubbled face and looked somewhat pale, but there were no bandages on him, suggesting he hadn't suffered any external injuries.
"Captain Lin, I'm not dead yet! But taking down an Eight-Star Level Zombie felt incredible!" Roman's eyes sparkled with excitement as he completely forgot about his injuries.
"While defeating enemies is exhilarating, you must take care of your health," Lin Yi reminded him. They still needed to reach South Death City several kilometers away. He signaled Hai to come over and prepare to use her Divine Technique on Roman.
Hai wasn't one for many words; she simply nodded at Roman before closing her eyes and moving her hands in intricate patterns. A ball of milky white light began to expand until it reached about the size of a basketball. She gently tossed this glowing sphere onto Roman's body.
Roman had sustained internal injuries from a lethal strike by a Zombie; relying solely on ordinary recovery methods would mean he couldn't get back on his feet for three to five months. However, the Sea God Technique not only purified Zombies but also possessed strong life energy, which would greatly benefit Roman's condition.
In just a few breaths, Roman's complexion turned rosy, and he appeared much more energized.
Although everyone already knew about the wonders of the Sea God Technique, witnessing its miraculous effects firsthand left them all in awe.
"Thank you, Captain. Thank you, Sea Maiden," Roman said in astonishment as he expressed his gratitude towards both of them. Despite his earlier bravado, he understood his own body well; if it were just ordinary treatment methods, he wouldn't know when he would fully recover. Yet now, in just seconds, he had regained most of his strength!
"Hai, if you have the energy, treat Roman once more later. For today's battle, focus on support; there's no need to exert yourself fully," Lin Yi instructed. He knew that using the Sea God Technique wasn't something that could be done casually; although it had made quite an impact this time, Hai had also put in considerable effort.
Hai wiped the beads of sweat from his forehead and said, "It's fine. Recently, I've felt my Divine Technique continuously strengthening. I can handle a battle."
"Captain, let me protect the Sea Maiden!" Roman stood up, excitement written all over his face.
Lin Yi smiled lightly and replied, "Roman, you should focus on recovering. If you come with us to fight, all of Hai's hard work will be in vain."
Roman looked troubled, but Lin Yi didn't dwell on it and led the others out.
"Sean, you stay behind. Roman's injuries aren't fully healed yet. I'll feel more at ease with you here," Lin Yi said to the newly joined seven Star-Level Combat Power Mercenary beside him. He could tell that Sean had also sustained some injuries, and he didn't want such a High-Level Combat Power to be further harmed due to this issue.

The number of Zombies in South City was only around seventy thousand. Although they were missing the two major supports, Sean and Roman, Lin Yi wasn't too worried. Moreover, Wang Zijun was still cooperating with him; their combat power wouldn't diminish significantly because of this. He also sensed that the silent male "bodyguard" had combat abilities that were likely beyond just eight Star Level. "Laser sweep!" Lin Yi immediately issued two commands in succession. In the next moment, his Psychic Power surged forth, firmly controlling the thousands of flying iron rods.
However, the impact of the thousand iron rods was immense. Even with Lin Yi's abilities, dealing with these rods proved to be somewhat challenging. With a whoosh, three crimson Blade Qis shot out from Lin Yi's Silver Soul, directly targeting a nearby horde of Zombies.
The three Blade Qis, each seven to eight meters long and carrying a tornado-like force, sliced through the ranks of Zombies in an instant. In just a moment, three hundred Zombies were cut in half. However, compared to nearly ten thousand Zombies present, this was merely the tip of the iceberg.
Lin Yi's strength was now infinitely close to Nine-Star Level. At this moment, as he unleashed his Blade Qi, he could naturally sustain it for longer. Without hesitation, he began to slash fiercely, sending dozens of Blade Qis surging forth like a force of nature.

The morale of the crowd surged as they charged forward, disregarding the Fire Sea ahead. Although there were many High-Level Combat Power Zombies within, the Mercenaries remained absolutely confident!
Lin Yi led a few people into the fray, with Wang Zijun's two Vice Captains not wanting to fall behind, bringing their Mercenary teams into the city as well.
At that moment, thirty Zombies with combat power above Six-Star were gathered inside the city, including ten at Seven-Star Level! However, it was clear that this fighting force was still quite weak.

Caught off guard by Lin Yi and his team's frenzied assault, within less than an hour, thirty thousand Zombies were entirely slaughtered!
