Although it wasn't a long-awaited reunion, Lin Yi never expected to meet Yellow Sea at this moment in such a state. 0

Even though Lin Yi didn't fully understand the Diviners, he knew that their backgrounds were anything but simple. However, now he discovered that the timid yet stubborn girl he remembered could actually wield Divine Technique, which left him astonished! 0

"Lulu!" As Lin Yi's mind raced, Tony suddenly shouted from nearby and quickly ran toward a gathering of people in white. 0

With the greatest crisis resolved by the Diviners, the remaining threats were much easier to handle. Those massive Corpseification marine creatures had great attacking power, but they were also the biggest targets; as long as one found the right opportunity, a fatal blow could be delivered. 0

Lin Yi swiftly moved to stand before Yellow Sea and Lulu. At that moment, Hai and Lulu were outside a white tent tending to soldiers injured by the Giant Squid. Most had been struck directly by the squid's tentacles and suffered severe injuries, with many sustaining damage to their lungs. However, Hai and her companions could only perform basic bandaging; further treatment would have to wait until they reached the hospital at the Defense Center. 0

It seemed to be Hai's first time taking action, and those around her looked at her with expressions of shock and genuine admiration. The ones who could execute Divine Technique had saved them countless times; for them, these Diviners were saviors. Even the injured soldiers appeared to forget their pain as they gazed at Hai, their faces filled with growing infatuation. 0

Lin Yi noticed that after using Divine Technique, Hai looked just as exhausted as everyone else. However, perhaps due to the limited range of her technique, she showed little discomfort aside from her pale face. 0

"Captain," Hai's soft voice called out to Lin Yi first. 0

"I finally found you all!" Lin Yi sighed in relief. At that moment, Tony was embracing Lulu, crying and expressing his indescribable longing over these past days. 0

Suddenly, Lin Yi felt a pang in his heart; he seemed to have forgotten someone—someone who had been missing for several months. She was still alive, but he couldn't see her. He had been so busy lately without knowing when he would meet her again. He wanted to see her so badly, but for now, he could only pretend he knew nothing. 0

"Sister Ling'er will come; she will definitely save us," Hai said nervously, fidgeting with the hem of her clothes like a child who had done something wrong. 0

"By the way, where's Reiko?" Lin Yi looked around but found no sign of Aoling Er. He was aware of Aoling Er's strange precognitive abilities, so it was normal for her to be so certain about coming to rescue them. 0

"Okay, I'll go find her!" Hai nodded and turned into a swift figure as she dashed into a rare Cement Building on the other side of the city wall. 0

Lin Yi furrowed his brow; based on his guess, this Cement Building should be something like a Frontline Command Center. He couldn't understand why Hai would go there—was Aoling Er inside? 0

"Captain Lin probably doesn't know yet; Ling'er and Hai are amazing! Hai is now the captain of our Medical Team, while Ling'er has become even more impressive—she's already a War-time Special Advisor!" Lulu explained from beside him while leaning against Tony's chest with a look of happiness on her face. 0

"Brother Lin!" A clear voice suddenly rang in Lin Yi's ears. He turned to see Aoling Er, who had been missing for over half a month. Strangely, she was dressed in a dark green military uniform, standing tall like a summer lotus. 0

"Reiko, what are you all doing?" Lin Yi approached her, his mind filled with questions. It seemed that these people had undergone a significant transformation in such a short time. 0

Aoling Er smiled gently and whispered a few words to a soldier nearby before walking over with Hai. 0

"Let's walk as we talk; the Sea Beasts below aren't much of a threat anymore!" Aoling Er called out to Lulu and gestured for everyone to head down together. 0

As they reached the bottom of the city wall, they saw the Drunken-Nose Old Man coming out with a knife in hand. Upon seeing Aoling Er and Lin Yi together, he paused for a moment, then stood straight and saluted Aoling Er. 0

"There's no need for formalities, old sir; I'm just temporarily in this military position, hoping to do something for everyone!" Aoling Er smiled awkwardly; it felt strange for her as a girl to be thrust into such a high position. 0

The Drunken-Nose Old Man seemed not to hear her and continued to salute Aoling Er. She smiled helplessly and signaled for everyone to leave. 0

The defense area had vehicles available for use. Aoling Er's authority allowed her to board an empty transport truck that took everyone toward the Defense Center. 0

During the ride, Aoling Er took the opportunity to explain what had happened. However, when she recounted their ambush by a group in camouflage uniforms, Ouyang Shasha's expression turned peculiar. 0

They had just run out of their dormitory when they were suddenly knocked unconscious. When they woke up, they found themselves in a remote suburb of Rome, guarded by three men. With three beautiful girls and three men together, it was easy to imagine what might happen. 0

However, those who bully others usually target the weak. Aoling Er and her friends appeared weak but were not defenseless. They fought back fiercely; whenever those men dared to approach, they would charge at them headfirst or bite with all their might. Soft things fear hard things; hard things fear those who are reckless. After being relentlessly attacked by Aoling Er and her friends, even if the men were initially interested, they ultimately had no choice but to give up. Later on, it seemed they received some orders that drastically changed their attitude toward Aoling Er and her friends, leading to their gradual freedom. Just days ago, they had finally gained complete freedom while the men who had guarded them had vanished before letting them go. 0

Once Aoling Er and her friends were free, they discovered that Rome was surrounded by marine creatures undergoing Corpseification. They couldn't escape and had to seek help from others. However, chaos reigned in the city at that time, and no one paid them any attention; eventually, the three guards also disappeared without a trace. 0

Fortunately, the Defense Center was established quickly, restoring order in Rome and organizing an effective evacuation. However, the Romans could not easily abandon their city; many young people or those still able to fight chose to stay behind voluntarily. Yet there were simply too many people needing evacuation; ultimately, only children and the elderly could leave. Some young people wanted to go but were forcibly kept behind by some means. 0

Leaving during a national crisis would be seen as naked cowardice. Although Romans did not place great importance on victory or defeat historically, the current situation was unlike any before, so they had to persevere until the end. 0

They naturally did not become part of the group that was sent out, and could only make use of their abilities to do what they could. Recently, Aoling Er successfully predicted a wave of Undead Creatures attacks, which caught the attention of the command center. Many Romans believed Aoling Er was a messenger sent by God, so they had no qualms about allowing a woman to take on the role of advisor in the command center. Her sole mission was to estimate the waves of attacks so that everyone could prepare in advance. As for her simple medical skills, she was also entrusted with important responsibilities during times when medical personnel were scarce. Lulu, on the other hand, had the primary task of comforting the injured male soldiers. 0

"Rome is surrounded like a barrel; even planes find it hard to fly out smoothly. How can we leave?" Lin Yi pondered. Although they had arrived in Rome, completing this mission would only be considered successful if they could get out; otherwise, it would all be for nothing. 0

"There is a Tiber River leading north to the defensive area. Previous retreat plans involved withdrawing through the Tiber River, allowing direct escape from the Zombie-infested area," Aoling Er explained, clearly familiar with the situation. 0

"Has it been successful?" Lin Yi found it hard to understand how one could retreat through the river, considering it was filled with Oceanic Undead—wasn't that like walking into a tiger's den? 0

"This Tiber River retreat operation has a codename called 'Life-and-Death Line Plan.' Since the first withdrawal from the river began, it has continued for ten days now, and five thousand people have been evacuated without any losses!" Aoling Er elaborated, bolstering Lin Yi's confidence. 0

"Did you go by boat?" Ouyang Shasha asked, her imagination conjuring up a terrifying scene of humans trembling together on a boat while Zombies roared from both shores. 0

"Boat? You must be joking! If it were a boat, we would have been torn apart by those Zombies as soon as we set out. We used a type of vessel called a 'Ground Effect Shallow Water Submarine' to get out; this vessel can barely accommodate eighty people for low-speed travel over two hundred kilometers." Aoling Er looked at Ouyang Shasha with a hint of disdain; it wasn't jealousy but something more unsettling. 0

"When the vessel is traveling underwater, those Zombies basically have no ability to attack us. Large Oceanic Undead can't reach the river either, so we are quite safe," Aoling Er emphasized again. 0

"Then if we want to leave, will they let us go?" Jerry asked thoughtfully, perhaps understanding human nature better than most. 0

"It's not that simple. Ling Er has made such significant contributions for them, yet they still won't let her go. Sending people out of the city is easier when they're useless and just taking up resources!" Lulu's life experiences were far more tragic than Lin Yi's group. She understood the cruelty of this society; ultimately, anything deemed useless would be eliminated. 0
