The things that a young man looks forward to the most are holding the hand of his beloved and placing a ring symbolizing love on her finger. Lin Yi felt a bit anxious, even somewhat incoherent, causing the girl at the wedding ring counter to stifle her laughter. Lin Yi and Li Qiweng only had ten thousand euros in personal funds available, but fortunately, this was just a small town, and there weren't many expensive rings. Moreover, Lin Yi only intended to propose this time; when it came to the wedding, they would naturally invite everyone for a grand celebration.
Li Qiweng didn't mind those details at all; she simply looked at the man before her with a sweet smile as he focused on selecting a ring for her. A ring was merely an external object; what Li Qiweng truly cared about was Lin Yi's genuine intentions.
"Darling, try this one!" After selecting several options, Lin Yi finally made up his mind and chose a ring adorned with three leaves.
Li Qiweng's cheeks flushed slightly as she shyly extended her finger. Lin Yi carefully placed the ring on her middle finger. Then, he cupped his chin with his right hand while supporting his right elbow with his left hand, staring intently at Li Qiweng's finger.
"This is the Clover Ring," the salesgirl explained appropriately from the side. "According to tradition, it represents happiness. However, there is also the Four-Leaf Clover, which signifies that anyone who finds it will be lucky for life."
"Then why don't you make a Four-Leaf Clover ring?" Hearing that there was something better available, Lin Yi naturally didn't want to give up easily.
The girl replied apologetically, "We do have such rings, but they are produced in very limited quantities and usually require a reservation."
Both Lin Yi and Li Qiweng nodded in understanding and did not press further; perhaps for them, who had experienced numerous life-and-death situations, such details were no longer significant. After paying for the ring, they found a place to eat and relax. Lin Yi decided he wanted to organize a unique proposal party.
Time passed quickly. After enjoying a brief moment of intimacy together, Lin Yi and Li Qiweng hurried back to where they had parked their car.
"Weng, I don't know why, but ever since we got on the plane, I've felt like someone has been watching us!" Lin Yi spoke up as he noticed that the other team members had not yet returned.
Li Qiweng was in good spirits and playfully reached out to touch Lin Yi's forehead. "You’re not running a fever, are you? No one else seems to have noticed anything unusual; it's just you being all paranoid."
Lin Yi shrugged helplessly; he too thought it might be an illusion. The feeling was strange—he distinctly sensed a gaze fixed upon them but couldn't spot any suspicious individuals after looking around. It was likely just his nerves getting the better of him.
Everyone arrived at the meeting point on time, each carrying large bags filled with their purchases. Lin Yi called everyone to get into the car and then mysteriously informed them that he had something important to share later that evening.
A few of them were patient enough to urge Lin Yi to tell them right away. However, no matter how much others clamored for it this time, Lin Yi merely smiled in response.
Corsica wasn't densely populated; there were only about six hundred thousand people living there, so the entire city didn’t feel crowded at all. The car drove smoothly through the streets and into an area filled with dense forests; aside from a few houses with red roofs scattered about, there wasn’t much else to see in this part of town.
The passengers in the minibus seemed to have grown tired from their outing, and after some commotion, they fell silent to rest. After a while, an expanse of flat ground appeared ahead, with a guard booth at the entrance where a soldier stood, his eyes fixed intently on the approaching minibus.
Taishan handed the soldier a magnetic card and explained something while pointing at Lin Yi and the others. The soldier promptly allowed them to pass. Generally speaking, military zones of a country do not easily permit outsiders to enter, especially since Lin Yi and his companions were foreigners from all corners of the world. However, being adults, they understood that some questions were best left unasked.
The minibus drove directly to the front of a three-story French-style building. Before it could come to a complete stop, a short, stout man in short sleeves emerged from inside. Lin Yi couldn't help but twitch his mouth at the sight of the man, whose body was visibly overweight. This place was under the influence of a Mediterranean climate, and even in February, it shouldn't be warm enough for short sleeves.
Others clearly shared this question, but Taishan only smiled mysteriously and introduced him: "His codename is Fire Dragon; he is also a member of this training camp's defense personnel."
Lin Yi sighed inwardly; one should not judge by appearances. Looking at the stout man before him, he found it hard to equate him with the fierce and robust special operations personnel he had imagined.

After exchanging a few pleasantries at the entrance, they began to allocate their accommodations. The building had twelve rooms in total, allowing for two people to share each room with one bed left over. The members of the Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps were not particularly rule-abiding; upon hearing about room assignments, they eagerly rushed to claim the best rooms. In the end, they tacitly agreed to leave the brightest and best-decorated room on the second floor for Lin Yi and Li Qiweng.
Everyone had very few belongings; after tidying up casually and finding nothing much to do, they all went looking for Lin Yi. Knowing they would need to gather sooner or later, Lin Yi called everyone together in the open space at the entrance. With a loud cheer, they gathered in front of him, waiting for him to speak.
"First of all, I want to thank Miss Jones. If it weren't for her, we would still be cannon fodder!" Lin Yi said seriously. "This time it was Miss Jones who used her formidable expertise to create a simple communication device that connected us with the outside world. This way, they learned about our situation and pressured Kachi and his team, which led to our freedom!"
Lin Yi took the lead in applauding; he didn't mention that it was Li Qiweng's father who pressured Kachi because he feared it might lead to unnecessary misunderstandings among them. However, some in the group were already aware of this detail.
The mercenary team members cooperatively clapped their hands and then looked expectantly at Lin Yi for what would come next. This time Lin Yi appeared somewhat shy; after clearing his throat a few times and blushing slightly, he said, "I plan to propose to Wen. I hope everyone can contribute what they can—money or effort—so we can all celebrate together!"
"Wow! The boss is getting married!" Flower Cannon exclaimed dramatically.
"Haha! The big guy is going to spend big this time!" Jerry chimed in teasingly as he fixed his gaze on Lin Yi.
"Brother Lin, Valentine's Day is tomorrow! Are you planning to propose then?" Aoling Er asked eagerly, her eyes sparkling with dreams of marriage.
Lin Yi nodded, unsure of what to do next. However, the thought of preparing a unique proposal ceremony for Wen left him with little time. He wanted to surprise Wen, so he decided to send Li Qiweng away and discuss the arrangements with the members of the Mercenary group.
When Taishan and Fire Dragon learned that Lin Yi was going to propose to Li Qiweng, they were momentarily stunned. Taishan maintained his harmless demeanor, silently watching Lin Yi, while Fire Dragon took on the role of a seasoned veteran, advising Lin Yi to consider marriage carefully. Lin Yi, however, brushed off their concerns and boldly asked for their help. He knew that both Taishan and Fire Dragon were close to Li Qiweng's father, so assisting him wasn't out of line.
Everything was proceeding in an orderly fashion; everyone was so busy that they barely had time for dinner. Meanwhile, the main character of the day, Li Qiweng, was enjoying her leisure time alone in her room, playing games to pass the time.
When one is busy, time always seems to fly by. Before they knew it, it was the second Valentine's Day, the moment when Lin Yi would officially propose to Li Qiweng. Ika, Aoling Er, and others were responsible for helping Li Qiweng get ready, while Lin Yi arrived early at the beach where he planned to propose to make final preparations.
As seconds ticked away, a sleek black car slowly entered everyone's view. Flower Cannon, dressed in a black suit with white gloves, was the first to step out of the car. Following him, Akin and Danny quickly rolled out a red carpet that stretched from the car door all the way to where Lin Yi stood.
The car door opened gently, revealing a pair of long, fair legs that caught everyone's attention. Then came Qianqian, who placed her hand on Flower Cannon's gloved hand. Finally, when Li Qiweng appeared before everyone, many instinctively swallowed hard. She wore a strapless pearl-embellished white dress that perfectly showcased her curvaceous figure, exuding allure.
David, the only flower boy, was thrilled; his childlike innocence shone through. According to Lin Yi's plan, he held a large flower basket and flew above Li Qiweng, ready to shower her with petals as soon as she made her entrance. But the surprises didn't end there; Jerry controlled six dolphins urgently brought over from the aquarium using his psychic powers as they danced gracefully by the shore. Meanwhile, Douglas used his Psychic Power to guide the dolphins into a triangular formation as they floated playfully in the air.
Not wanting to be left out, Woods Shadow partnered with Number 19 for a dance. However, since no one could see his shadowy form, it created an odd scene where Number 19 often froze mid-air at over a meter high without any visible support below. Coupled with Number 19's exaggerated expressions, it made for quite a comical sight.
Everything radiated happiness as Li Qiweng walked slowly towards Lin Yi with Ika, Reiko, Jiao Jiao, and their four companions accompanying her.
Suddenly, Reiko's smiling face turned pale in an instant before she collapsed onto the ground without warning...
