The scene fell into a stalemate in an instant. Although the soldiers were eager to fire, their captain was in the hands of the hijacker, and shooting could inadvertently injure him. 0

"Who... who are you?" The captain was sweating profusely, beads of sweat rolling down his forehead. He wanted to shout, but at that moment, he had to grit his teeth and remain silent; this was his last shred of dignity as a soldier. 0

The stranger ignored the captain, his cold gaze sweeping over everyone present. More and more people gathered around, yet none dared to pull the trigger. The captain's face turned pale, as if he might faint at any moment. Although his trusted subordinate was deeply worried, he still instructed someone to go call for reinforcements. 0

"Who are you, and why are you disturbing Defense Zone?" A Middle-Aged Officer stepped forward from the crowd, hands clasped behind his back, looking at the stranger with indifference as if he were gazing at a corpse. 0

"Open the main gate!" The stranger stared defiantly at the Middle-Aged Officer, speaking each word deliberately. 0

"I have no authority to open the door at will. Even if I could, I would not heed the threats of a madman like you!" The Middle-Aged Officer waved his hand, and soon after, a dozen armed men aimed their weapons at the two of them. 0

"Captain, you have to... save me!" The captain's voice trembled with tears as he looked pleadingly at the Middle-Aged Officer. He had always pointed his gun at others but was now on the receiving end for the first time. 0

"Lieutenant, we will do our utmost to rescue you!" replied the Middle-Aged Officer, immediately gesturing for action. 0

A dull gunshot echoed through the air, but it did not come from those armed men. Despite this, the hijacked captain was so frightened that he cried out and finally collapsed to the ground. 0

The Middle-Aged Officer stared wide-eyed at the scene before him. He could hardly believe what was happening. He had just realized that this young man was not ordinary; he had arranged for a dozen men to intimidate him while secretly positioning a sniper to eliminate him. This way, he could avoid unnecessary sacrifices among his subordinates. Although the captain's behavior was unbecoming of a soldier, it did not warrant death. However, he never expected that his meticulously planned arrangement would still fail to take down this sudden intruder. The spot where the young man had taken his subordinate's position now bore only a deep bullet hole, without even a drop of blood left behind. 0

Everything happened in an instant. As thoughts raced through the Middle-Aged Officer's mind, he suddenly felt his arms locked by an immense force that he could not escape. 0

"Move again and I'll break your hands!" The Middle-Aged Officer wanted to turn around but found his hands firmly pinned down, unable even to straighten his body. Hearing the voice behind him shocked him further—it was indeed the young man he had just attempted to assassinate! Though he considered himself brave, he knew better than to get too close to danger. This young man had not only evaded sniper fire in an instant but had also subdued him immediately; such speed was beyond human capability! At that moment, while enduring pain and grappling with his military instincts, tumultuous waves surged within the Middle-Aged Officer's heart. 0

Not just him; everyone present gaped in disbelief as they processed what had just occurred. Some even displayed a fervent worshipful expression—if this person weren't a dangerous criminal, they might have already bowed down in reverence. 0

"Open the door immediately! I want no disputes with you and do not wish to be ambushed again!" The cold yet impatient voice seeped into the Middle-Aged Officer's mind like a slow-acting drug. 0

"I..." The Middle-Aged Officer wanted to explain that he had no authority to open the door, but it seemed this terrifying young man wasn't interested in reasons. 0

"It seems I wasn't mistaken after all; Mr. Lin is indeed Brave. My few soldiers are simply not enough for you," a hearty voice approached swiftly from afar. 0

"General!" Every soldier who saw this person quickly stood up straight and saluted crisply. 0

The elder known as the General smiled and nodded at everyone, then walked steadily towards the Middle-Aged Officer. 0

"General, that thug is quite formidable, just now..." Someone tried to warn the General not to approach the danger, but he merely waved his hand, indicating that everything was safe. 0

"Mr. Lin Yi, it has been a few days since we last met, and your skills have become astonishing!" The General's face was full of smiles, yet there was an indescribable undertone to that smile. 0

"General Khaki, I, Lin, have led my team through life and death to complete your mission. Now that we’ve reached the gate, you won’t even let us pass. What do you intend to do about that?" Lin Yi's tone finally carried some human sentiment, though his expression still bore evident anger. 0

The Middle-Aged Officer listened to their conversation with disbelief. He wanted to see the young man who had repeatedly shocked him from behind, but it seemed the other party had no intention of letting him go, so he stopped struggling. 0

"I ask Mr. Lin for some leniency; please release this Colonel," Kachi awkwardly pointed at the Middle-Aged Officer while secretly feeling that this young man was a bit too arrogant. 0

Lin Yi looked at Kachi and paused for a second before saying, "Open the gates and let everyone in!" 0

Kachi was taken aback for a moment but then laughed heartily. He called over his aide and whispered a few words to him, after which the aide hurried off. 0

Lin Yi slowly released his grip on the Middle-Aged Officer, who seized the opportunity to jump away. Immediately after, those soldiers quickly raised their rifles, ready to fire at any moment. 0

"We cannot treat our benefactor this way!" Kachi said while trying to quell his soldiers' impulses. He walked up to Lin Yi and patted him on the shoulder as a gesture of goodwill. 0

Although Lin Yi had acted impulsively this time, he believed in his own worth and did not think he had provoked them to the point of wanting to annihilate him. However, he had completely revealed his strength, which could bring him inconvenience; yet thinking about leaving soon made it all seem trivial. 0

Kachi led Lin Yi onward without obstruction. However, those soldiers who had seen Lin Yi earlier wore strange expressions on their faces and kept whispering among themselves. 0

When Lin Yi arrived at the City Gate, everyone else had already entered, while the helicopter flew back to its original owner. 0

Although Kachi had been prepared for this situation, seeing that Paul was left alone with none of the accompanying Intelligence Agency personnel returning caused his expression to change dramatically. Paul knew he was doomed; upon seeing Kachi for the first time, his face was filled with sorrow as he knelt before Kachi in apology. 0

"There are guests present; you should return to headquarters and reflect on whether you deserve your fallen comrades!" Kachi did not stop Paul from kneeling but recognized that it would not reflect well; he could only let him leave first. After all, Kachi's thoughts were no longer on this team that was nearly wiped out; losing an entire battalion didn’t matter much compared to just a squad of ten or so people. What mattered most to Kachi was what they had obtained from this mission. 0

Although Lin Yi noticed Kachi's gaze never left the box held by Paul’s hand, he pretended not to see anything and waited for Kachi's next move. 0

Kachi's face twitched slightly; after Paul voluntarily left in a vehicle, he turned to Lin Yi with a broad smile and said, "This place isn't safe; let's head to the training camp." 0

Lin Yi nodded; he had no objections. Moreover, being the first time he was undertaking a money-making mission, he wanted to receive his share of the reward as soon as possible, which would also grant him some convenience in future actions. 0

After arriving at the holographic training camp, Kachi immediately asked Lin Yi for the Metal Box in Bai's possession. It wasn't that he couldn't wait for a moment; it was simply too important for him to take lightly. 0

Lin Yi understood the importance of knowing when to stop and signaled Bai to hand the box over to Kachi. Once Kachi received the box, he personally held it in his hands, showing no intention of letting his aide take it. 0

"Doesn't the general doubt that this thing is fake?" Lin Yi asked curiously; surely they should verify its authenticity. 0

Kachi's face was filled with relief, and his expression towards Lin Yi became noticeably friendlier as he explained, "There are only three of these boxes in the entire country; two are at the research institute, so this one must be real." 0

Everyone nodded in understanding, grasping why Kachi placed such importance on this box—or rather, what was inside it. Although they were curious about its contents, they felt it inappropriate to ask since no one else had initiated the conversation. 0

"Gentlemen, I still need to handle matters regarding this box, so my aide will arrange your itinerary for later. Rest assured, you will receive every bit of your compensation!" Kachi gently stroked the box as if making a decision and addressed Lin Yi and the others. 0

Lin Yi and his companions naturally understood the hint and refrained from being overly dramatic. Kachi smiled and waved goodbye to them before quickly leaving with the box. His aide gestured for Lin Yi and the others to follow him out. 0

Along the way, the aide explained some misunderstandings that had occurred earlier at the city gate. It turned out that due to the high confidentiality of the matter, the city defense personnel were unaware of what Lin Yi and his group were doing. Previously, Kachi had been in a meeting with higher-ups regarding a loss of contact with the military helicopter sent to pick up Lin Yi, which resulted in him not receiving Paul’s mission completion message in time. Kachi hadn’t anticipated that Lin Yi and his team would prepare their own rescue helicopter, leading to such misunderstandings. 0

After hearing the aide's explanation, Lin Yi and his companions decided not to dwell on it any longer. They then received their pre-arranged rewards from the aide, who even hosted a celebration banquet to commend Lin Yi and his team's efforts. 0
