As the last rays of light disappeared beneath the horizon, darkness began to creep over the entire sky. Sometimes, darkness could provide an unusual sense of security, but more often it brought a suffocating feeling of helplessness. Fortunately, even as night fell tonight, the sky was dotted with bright stars, as if telling an immortal tale. 0

"Everyone, we might still have a chance to defeat them if we cooperate, but if we continue to fight among ourselves, there will only be one outcome: death," Jerry said, looking at Slo, enunciating each word carefully. 0

Slo seemed to awaken from a dream in an instant; his previously pale face flushed with color. Suddenly, he raised his Heavy Machine Gun and jumped out of the Cabin, wildly firing the machine gun as if possessed by a war god. 0

"Brothers, I, Slo, do not have the ability to lead you all to safety. Feel free to escape or stay as you wish!" Slo set the machine gun down on the ground and addressed those inside the Cabin who were engulfed in panic. 0

Whether it was a last-ditch effort or a heart full of despair, all the soldiers had already disembarked from the helicopter and picked up their weapons to fight back. Those responsible for the armored vehicles also took their positions, fulfilling their original duties. 0

Lin Yi and his group had already begun their resistance; they had no time left to escape now. The Zombies were drawing near, and they showed no fear of death. 0

Lin Yi was unsure of the exact population of this city, but it was likely that those who had undergone Corpseification had already exceeded ten thousand. A large number of humans had been consumed by those newly Corpseified as energy. Adding to that were those burned alive in the inner city and the thousands of Zombies they had continuously killed; now they faced a siege from several thousand Zombies. Yet Lin Yi's group consisted of only a few dozen people—against these thousands of Zombies, it was undoubtedly a dead end. 0

With less than an hour left for Lin Yi's medication to take effect, he needed to make the most of this remaining time. The greatest threat among these Zombies came from a dozen Giant Zombies; each one possessed combat power equivalent to dozens of ordinary Zombies. In theory, as long as they had enough ammunition and reasonable personnel distribution, they should be able to hold their ground against ordinary Zombies. However, this was all theoretical—without considering ammunition shortages, humans and firearms could encounter issues at any moment. Any brief problem with either could give those fearless Zombies an opportunity. 0

"Reiko, keep an eye on Wen for me; I'm going to deal with those big guys," Lin Yi said. Although he was reluctant to leave Li Qiweng in anyone else's care, given the current situation, he had to think long-term. Only by eliminating the greatest threats could their team have a better chance of survival. 0

Aoling Er was likely still the weakest member of the team in terms of combat ability, so Lin Yi chose her to watch over Li Qiweng. After all, everyone else had heavy combat responsibilities at this moment; since Aoling Er was the weakest link, her absence wouldn't affect the overall situation. 0

Lin Yi helped Aoling Er bring Li Qiweng into the Cabin, which was relatively safer. Afterward, he found Aik and asked him to help stop his bleeding again. Even though he was superhuman now, excessive blood loss could still lead to death. Within just a minute or two after everything was settled, Lin Yi's expression turned cold as he charged straight toward the rampaging Giant Zombies. Among them, perhaps only Lin Yi and Pachy could stand up against a Giant Zombie alone; everyone else could only rely on firearms for defense. 0

All hope seemed to rest on Lin Yi's shoulders—if he didn't charge forward, who would? Perhaps facing all this had numbed him; his gaze became increasingly fierce as if he were determined to eradicate all evil. 0

The dozen or so Zombies acted separately; they were at the forefront and posed the greatest threat. In an instant, Lin Yi leaped into action with his long knife swinging; at that moment when everything reached its peak speed, his blade fell just as their heads hit the ground. He could only push himself to his utmost potential for a slim chance of survival. 0

Lin Yi's first strike was so swift that it seemed like everything else froze except for him in that moment. In that instant, he struck with both Silver Souls like beams of deathly light flashing past. Without pausing to revel in his success, Lin Yi issued a death invitation to a nearby Zombie. The Giant Zombies not only possessed immense strength but also some level of intelligence; upon witnessing one of their companions being slain by Lin Yi in an instant, they quickly decided to work together against him. 0

"Hmph," Lin Yi smirked coldly as he saw them trying to turn their massive bodies around and swing their decaying arms at him. But he certainly couldn't give them that opportunity; their slow movements provided ample time for him to strike multiple times. 0

With extreme slowness, one arm swung toward Lin Yi while he simply crouched down; Silver Soul flashed past and severed the Zombie in half. Due to having undergone Corpseification for so long, its body did not spurt blood but instead revealed darkened entrails slowly writhing within—a nauseating stench filled the air. These Giant Zombies clearly emitted a much stronger odor than ordinary Zombies; perhaps it was due to their more thorough Corpseification process. 0

However, Lin Yi didn't have time to worry about that. He saw that three Zombies were already preparing to surround him. One of them was even wielding an iron rod. 0

"Good grief, they're getting smarter!" Lin Yi spat out a mouthful of blood that had refluxed into his mouth due to the force he exerted. He accelerated, needing to take down one of them before they could close in. When it came to brute strength against the Giant Zombie, Lin Yi found himself at a disadvantage. 0

The greatest threat was the Giant Zombie with the iron rod. Lin Yi practically lunged at it, using his right hand to block the downward swing of the iron rod. He swiftly countered by slashing at the hand that was about to strike his head from the left. Despite his speed, he was still at a significant disadvantage. Although he managed to sever the Zombie's hand, he quickly withdrew his blade to defend against the attack from the third Zombie. 0

Before that, after blocking the first attack from the Zombie with the iron rod, Lin Yi twisted his waist and rotated his body at an incredible angle. Using the momentum from the spin, he delivered a flying kick to the iron rod Zombie. 0

With a series of swift kicks, he sent the Zombie flying several meters away. As Lin Yi's body fell towards the ground, just before landing, he used the tip of his blade to steady himself. At that moment, the third Zombie's attack was already closing in, leaving him no time to waste. Although it was less than half a meter away, Lin Yi's reflexes were quick enough for him to swing his blade. 0

With a flash of silver, Lin Yi slashed diagonally, cutting through the Zombie's neck and into its right chest cavity, splitting it in half. 0

Everything happened in the blink of an eye. Before anyone could comprehend Lin Yi's movements, he had already broken through the encirclement of three Zombies and successfully killed one. However, Lin Yi couldn't afford to stop; he needed to continue. The disarmed Zombie was approaching fast; it wouldn’t fear death because it represented death itself. 0

Without even having time to spit out another mouthful of blood that surged into his mouth, Lin Yi propelled himself towards the disarmed Zombie with a push from his toes. As long as he moved fast enough, it would be like shooting at a target waiting for death. This time, with no immediate threats around him, this strike went surprisingly smoothly. The Zombie looked as if it were resigned to its fate, its mouth agape as if protesting Lin Yi's speed before its head was severed by his blade. 0

At that moment, the iron rod Zombie had just closed in. Lin Yi felt a wave of relief wash over him; one less Zombie posed no threat to him. He charged towards the iron rod Zombie with reckless abandon. Confident in his speed, he believed he could split it in two before its iron rod could strike his head. The towering creature seemed unprepared for such an audacious approach from someone so much smaller than itself. Nevertheless, it swung its iron rod decisively, confident that this seemingly powerful human wouldn’t withstand its full force. 0

Wait a minute... something felt off? The iron rod Zombie might not feel pain, but it still possessed some intelligence and sensed its head was lowering. 0

Lin Yi looked on with satisfaction at his handiwork; he had just taken down the most threatening Zombie with one clean cut. The iron rod in its hand hadn’t even fallen before its head hit the ground. 0

"Stop! Or I'll kill him!" A loud shout suddenly echoed through the air. 0

Lin Yi looked up into the dark sky; it was hard to see who was up there. But without needing to guess, he knew there was no one else who could defy gravity like Reagan. 0

As soon as Reagan shouted those words, the previously frenzied attacking Zombies immediately halted their movements. Seizing this opportunity, Lin Yi jumped back into his camp. Although the Zombies' assault had been fierce, it had only lasted about a minute. Thanks to Lin Yi’s efforts in holding back half of the Giant Zombies, everyone else managed to hold their ground. 0

"Traitor! What do you think you're doing?" It was Jiao Jiao again; her hatred for traitors seemed boundless. 0

“Ha ha, it's just for our own interests. You might betray some people too,” Reagan's voice was authoritative, likely due to his long-standing position of power. 0

Jiao Jiao wanted to curse a few more times to vent her frustration, but she was held back by Hela. They were like sisters, always supporting each other. In such chaotic times, one could see more of humanity. 0

“What do you want?” Lin Yi shouted into the sky while subtly signaling Flower Cannon to take action again. 0

“I want to negotiate with you,” came the voice from above, and Lin Yi felt an overwhelming sense of oppression. 0

“What qualifications do you have to negotiate with us? Either you retreat now, or we fight to the death,” Lin Yi couldn't afford to waste too much time; the battle had to continue. If the opponent delayed too long and his medication wore off, it would be a huge disadvantage. 0

“Not good, he’s holding someone!” Flower Cannon suddenly exclaimed to Lin Yi. 0

“Ha ha, the first time I was ambushed by you all, I almost lost my life. Now I have to be smarter,” Flower Cannon's instant sniping had failed, and Reagan immediately noticed Flower Cannon's movement and understood what they were trying to do. 0

“Don’t think anyone can threaten me!” Lin Yi felt a chill run down his spine. Who would Reagan use to threaten him? 0

“What if it’s the Commander of this city?” Reagan's triumphant laughter echoed from the air. 0

“Mandray!” everyone exclaimed in unison! 0
