Elena looks down on Amanda and, before she can retaliate, takes a step back to a safe distance. She's not worried; even if Amanda wants to fight back, she'll have to ask the two bodyguards at the door for permission first. "What's wrong with hitting you?"
Just a slap is not enough to vent Elena's anger. But she glanced at her now red palm and thought, "I don't want to go back and have to treat my palm." "I should have returned this slap a long time ago."
Elena ignored Amanda's eyes that were about to spew fire, "I really didn't want to deal with a homewrecker like you, but you're just too annoying."
"If you enjoy being a homewrecker so much, why can't you just behave and be a mistress? Do you have to create drama for yourself, especially after my divorce? Is that fun for you?"
Elena rubbed her forehead, and even that simple gesture made her palm ache.
Amanda swelled up half of her face, opened her mouth, wanting to retort, but Elena cut her off.
"When I'm speaking, don't interrupt, or you might swell up the other side of your face," Elena said.
Elena opened her other hand, and Amanda hurriedly covered the other side of her face.
"This is it." Elena smiled coldly. "I have divorced Osiris, remember that. I don't care what happened between you two before, but from now on, his affairs have nothing to do with me. Don't try to be clever and disturb my life with your nonsense using your limited brain capacity. Next time, it won't be as easy as just getting slapped on one side of your face." Elena stood up slowly, her dangerous gray eyes narrowing.
This is the first time Amanda has discovered that the obedient and timid Elena can be as dangerous as a poised leopard. She instinctively closed her mouth. But she was too unwilling to accept it.
Why should a woman like Elena who has no backing receive a 10 million separation fee? She should leave with nothing! She can't even get a penny and is being swept out the door.
Yes, Elena's confidence must come from that 10 million.
Amanda is trying to convince herself.
"Elena, you're bullying me like this, Osiris will definitely hate you for it."
Elena knew that Amanda said this just to deliberately provoke her.
Probably Osiris said he would come today, so she dared to provoke herself so arrogantly.
How stupid.
Elena gave Amanda a cold look.
She hadn't intended to do this, but she felt she was at a loss if she didn't give a little punishment.
Amanda was still secretly pleased that her words had finally changed Elena's expression, but in the next moment, she saw Elena make a phone call and then smile at herself. She couldn't explain why, but even though it was just a simple twitch of the mouth, she had a chilling feeling on her back. It must be an illusion!
Amanda shook her head in panic.
Elena "Where did she get the ability? She must be just bluffing."
Elena Hung up the phone, rubbed her index finger on her chin, and a few minutes later, hurried footsteps could be heard in the corridor.
She looked calmly at Amanda's pale face, the smile at the corner of her mouth becoming even more apparent.
"Let them in."
It was only at this moment that Amanda noticed there were still two men standing outside the door.
One on the left and one on the right, like two door gods.
"Oh my, brother, you really shouldn't have bothered the president to come in person." Upon seeing the person at the front, Elena playfully covered her mouth and giggled.
It was clearly the same President Hassan who had received her on the rooftop.
"It is our hospital's honor to be able to serve you." Before Hassan came, he had already been taken care of by Maxim and did not mention anything about The Snowd family in front of Amanda.
"This is my old friend."
Elena deliberately emphasized the words "old friend."
She has been smiling all the time, with a friendly attitude. On the contrary, Amanda panicked when seven or eight people surrounded her as soon as they entered.
"What do you want to do? I can tell you, I am with Osiris. If you dare to touch me, Osiris won't let you off!"
Seeing the dean and several professors looking at each other, Elena timely reminded them.
"Amanda is just too sensitive. Dean, could you please arrange for a simple preliminary consultation with a few professors first?"
Amanda hasn't seen many professors from St. Francis Hospital, but she has seen photos of some of them in the hallway. Now she's even more uneasy to find out that Elena managed to call these internationally renowned and promising individuals with just one phone call.
"No! Stay away from me! Osiris is not here, so I won't do any consultation!"
Elena doesn't want to deal with whether Amanda is willing or not. She gave a signal to two bodyguards, and they immediately stepped forward to restrain Amanda's struggling limbs. The consultation went very smoothly. After a few professors whispered to each other, the dean walked towards Elena.
The ward was not spacious, and the hospital director spoke without deliberately lowering his voice. "The situation for this young lady is indeed quite complicated. Normally, in cases where the tissue in the legs has necrosis like hers, we would recommend conservative treatment. However, we have recently developed a new repair technology. If it can be applied to her medical care, there may still be a chance for recovery." Amanda looked at Elena with teary eyes.
Elena once again ignored her resentment, turned her head and smiled at the dean. "But necrosis will spread, won't it? Instead of waiting for that regenerative technology to go into production, we should just cut it off." She looked at Amanda, "Cutting off the necrotic leg is the best solution. After all, it's all about staying alive."
Coming out of the ward, the hospital director glanced at the fainting Amanda inside the ward, "That young lady is our VIP guest. Miss Snowd, do you need us to transfer her to a regular patient?"
Anyone could see that something was not quite right between Elena and Amanda.
Elena waved her hand, "No need."
She glanced at the dazed Amanda, not as happy as she had imagined, and withdrew her gaze lightly. "By the way, Director, do you have time? I'd like to learn more about the restoration technique you mentioned."
...
It's been three days since she returned from the hospital.
Elena has never left the room.
Even meals are delivered directly to the door of the room.
In the study, Gert sat leaning against the redwood office desk, his large palm pressing against the edge, his attractive eyebrows furrowed tightly, wearing a deeply resentful expression.
"So worried, just go knock on the door and ask yourself," Maxim said helplessly, having been interrupted by Gert and unable to write a single word for a long time. Gert pursed his lips, glanced at him, and then sighed.
"If I could ask, then I wouldn't worry."
"Alright, I'll go ask."
Maxim got up and left the open computer, but was pushed back by Gert.
"No, what if you say something wrong and bring back bad memories for her? That would only add to her troubles. It took Eileen a lot of effort to get away from That guy, and I don't want her to be reminded of that painful time again." Gert said seriously, while Maxim rubbed his sore shoulder and asked, "So what do you suggest then?" Gert fell silent again.
"What are you two talking about?" Elena's voice suddenly sounded, and the two men had the same expression, staring blankly at the door.
