The carriage suddenly fell into an eerie silence, as everyone struggled to comprehend how such an absurd situation could occur. 0

"It's actually quite simple. The domestic Zombie attacks are still ongoing, and everyone needs a place to vent their frustrations. Captain Patch just happened to be at the wrong end of the gun, making him the target of everyone's ire." 0

"What? Wasn't it already resolved?" Li Qiweng, who had been resting against her seat with her eyes closed, sat up abruptly upon hearing Ika's words. 0

"I’m not entirely sure about the specifics. Mr. Li is currently overwhelmed, so he could only send us two here," Ika sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose, clearly at a loss for what to do. 0

"We've been continuously capturing these Zombies in our division, but it feels like there are more and more of them. The situation in Lion City is dire," Pachy explained, his expression darkening as he realized that he was no longer part of that division. 0

Li Qiweng's expression tightened further at this point. "How is my father doing?" 0

"Mr. Li is fine; he’s just likely very busy," Ika replied, unsure how to convey the current situation, especially since things in Lion City were far from good—otherwise, they wouldn’t be unable to return home. 0

Lin Yi remained silent throughout, either staring down at his feet or gazing out at the swirling dust outside. No one knew what was on his mind, and with everyone preoccupied with their own worries, no one paid him any attention. 0

Before long, they arrived at a Military Airport where various heavy armored vehicles began rolling out one after another. Many large transport planes were either landing or taking off. The entire airport was bustling with activity, and no one noticed Lin Yi and his group’s arrival. It seemed the country’s Armed Forces had fully mobilized to respond to the Zombie crisis. 0

Pachy made a call using the car phone just as they reached the airport gate. Shortly after, a lean old man emerged from a guard booth, a cigar dangling from his mouth. Though not tall, he exuded an imposing presence that only someone accustomed to power could possess. 0

"General Floman, I truly appreciate your help this time," Pachy said as he got out of the car and approached Froeman with a slight bow. 0

"Mr. Li has always been someone I greatly admire. It was my oversight that his daughter had to endure this," Froeman replied with a smile as he greeted Pachy before noticing Li Qiweng stepping out of the car and walking over. 0

Li Qiweng looked at the old man before her with an inexplicable sense of aversion; she found him exceedingly hypocritical. However, being on someone else's turf made it difficult for her to maintain a stony demeanor and say nothing. 0

"General, I’ll trouble you to see us off this time," Li Qiweng extended her hand. Froeman reciprocated with his thin, bony fingers in a formal handshake. Watching from the side, Lin Yi thought to himself that he would find an opportunity to take revenge on this man for daring to touch his wife's hand. 0

"When can we leave? My whole gang is waiting to go to Egypt for a feast!" Lin Yi called over his group of brothers and sisters behind him, trying to assert himself. 0

Witerson II was ready to glare at the short, thin old man in front of him when Froeman merely squinted at him. Immediately, Witerson II wilted like a frostbitten eggplant. Of course, he was secretly cursing his Captain for putting him in a position to confront the Deputy Minister of National Defense from his own country! 0

"Mr. Lin, I apologize for the inconvenience. You will be able to leave shortly; I will arrange for your private jet to take off right away," Froeman said without dwelling on Lin Yi's attitude, calling over his aide with a few words. 0

"My aide has already started making arrangements. I believe you can leave in about half an hour," Froeman continued, still wearing a pleasant expression that made him seem easy to get along with. 0

"How could it possibly take half an hour to take off?" Bai, who had been silent for a while, questioned Froeman slowly and deliberately. 0

"Sir, you should understand that this military airport is not large, and there is an urgent need for armed support ahead. We need to coordinate everything properly to ensure everyone's satisfaction," Froeman replied, furrowing his brow briefly but not wanting to create too much trouble at this critical moment. 0

Just then, the aide who had just left rushed back in a hurry, looking flustered and nearly stumbling several times. 0

"Is everything arranged?" Froeman raised an eyebrow, the authority of his position suddenly radiating. 0

The aide approached Froeman but couldn't utter a word as he swallowed hard. 0

"What’s going on? What’s the situation?" Froeman's gaze turned sharp as he looked at his aide, an uneasy feeling creeping into his mind. 0

"General, we've just received news that the front line has been breached by the Zombie Army; everyone there is dead," the aide finally managed to steady himself enough to deliver the grim news. 0

"How could this happen? Three armored battalions and five infantry regiments had sealed off all access points! The Zombies on Mombasa Island should never have been able to get close!" Froeman exclaimed in disbelief. He truly couldn't fathom how such a heavily defended area could be overrun by mindless corpses. 0

"Yes, General. The report indicates that a group of Giant Zombies suddenly appeared at the riverbank. Regular firearms are ineffective against them. Each Giant Zombie possesses immense strength and agility far beyond that of ordinary ones. The defending troops were caught off guard and quickly overwhelmed, allowing other regular Zombies to cross from the opposite bank," the aide explained in one breath. 0

“How many are there, and how long until they arrive?” Froeman asked anxiously. The airport was not transporting many armored vehicles at the moment. If three armored battalions and five infantry regiments could not withstand the onslaught of the Zombies, then their current forces would be nothing more than a death sentence. 0

“The information from over there can no longer be transmitted. Just now, the operator's voice cut off abruptly, as if they had already been killed by the Zombies,” the aide said, still shaken. The scream he had heard over the military communicator was etched in his memory; nothing could instill fear like that sound. 0

“Quick, order everyone to prepare for retreat!” Froeman decided firmly. They had no choice but to abandon all of Mombasa and wait for a chance to eliminate those Zombies later. 0

“But?” The aide hesitated, unable to understand why the general wanted to leave without putting up any resistance. 0

“What are you waiting for? Hurry up and relay my orders!” Seeing the aide still frozen in place, Froeman raised his voice, his booming shout startling the aide. 0

“What do we do now?” Li Qiweng could no longer hold back. If the only Armed Forces here also gave up resisting, would they too be left to their fate? 0

“You all…” Before Froeman could finish, everyone suddenly felt a series of tremors beneath their feet. This was not the vibration caused by armored vehicles; it was the heavy sound of a massive object striking the ground. 0

A cloud of dust suddenly rose not far away, growing larger and larger, as if it would cover the entire world and plunge them into darkness. 0

Witerson II, already in shock, could only point at the rolling yellow dust nearby and stammered, “It’s them, huge monsters with great strength!” 0

“Witerson II, what are you talking about?” Lin Yi looked at the approaching yellow dust, his legs trembling slightly as he momentarily forgot what to do. 0

“It’s them! They destroyed my entire Witerson Combat Camp!” Witerson II suddenly collapsed to the ground, crying. The attack by the Giant Zombie had become an enormous nightmare that haunted all Survivors of Witerson Combat Camp. 0

“Witerson Combat Camp? You are Witerson II?” Froeman asked, though anxious, he still tried to maintain an appearance of shock. 0

“Hmm? General, do you know me?” Witerson II wiped his face with his sleeve, looking at Froeman with tear-streaked cheeks. 0

"Yes, I used to hold you when you were younger," Froeman said, displaying a rare gentleness as he looked at Witerson II. 0

"This isn't the time for reminiscing; we need to get out of here!" Lin Yi exclaimed, glancing at the approaching Zombie Army. There was no time to dwell on the past. Even though everyone had a fair amount of Potential Gene Drug on hand, they would eventually be overwhelmed by the endless waves of Zombies. Earlier in the vehicle, Lin Yi had learned from Li Qiweng that the a1 from Pachy was indeed the Potential Gene Drug. 0

"I know. I'll make arrangements right away. We need to head to the plane and prepare for immediate evacuation," Froeman replied, turning towards the airport. At this moment, the armored vehicles that had initially been moving outward were now retreating. 0

As Froeman walked, he coordinated the defense; all armored vehicles were stationed at the airport's entrance, ready to deliver a decisive blow to the approaching Zombies. As soldiers, they could not simply flee without resistance. 0

The airport had five military transport aircraft on standby, each capable of carrying two 60-ton armored vehicles and a hundred fully armed soldiers. However, such large transport aircraft were scarce, and this deployment was nearly an all-out effort to respond to the crisis. There were currently eighteen armored vehicles at the airport, which had just been prepared to head into battle, but now the airport itself had become a battlefield. 0

The eighteen armored vehicles quickly formed a defensive formation and began firing at the Zombie Army. However, it was disheartening for everyone to see that despite five rounds of concentrated fire, there seemed to be no reduction in the number of Zombies. Several Armed Helicopters also took off and dove into the fray, unleashing a barrage on the Zombie Army. 0

The seemingly endless tide of Zombies advanced like an unyielding army towards the Military Airport. 0

Despair—an indescribable sense of despair—was the first feeling that washed over the pilot of one of the Armed Helicopters. If he weren't in the sky, he would have turned and fled. There were too many Zombies, and new ones continued to appear in the distance. 0

It felt like an endless battle between humanity's forces and the Zombie Army... 0
