"Hey, sis, what do you know about that girl?" the young man with yellow hair asked, furrowing his brow.
"I don't know," Ivy replied, shaking her head.
"How can she be so rich?" the young man said, feeling frustrated. "The things she bought add up to almost five hundred million!"
"Mm," Ivy responded lightly.
"Sis, why aren't you surprised at all?" the young man asked curiously.
"What's there to be surprised about?" Ivy said calmly. "There are plenty of wealthy people in this world."
"Ugh, it's really frustrating," the young man sighed.
"Are you really thinking about competing with her for that guitar?" Ivy asked.
"Yeah," he nodded.
"There's no need," Ivy said. "That guitar is only worth around ten million. Even if you manage to win it, you'll still be at a loss."
"But I really like that guitar," the young man lamented.
"I'll help you out," Ivy suddenly said.
"You'll help me?" he asked, puzzled. "How will you do that?"
"I have my ways," Ivy replied. "You just need to listen to me and not raise your bid anymore."
"But..." The young man clearly didn't believe Ivy's words.
"Don't worry, I won't deceive you," Ivy assured him. "As long as you don't raise your bid, I can help you get that guitar."
"Alright." After hesitating for a moment, he finally nodded.
"Rest assured, I'll make sure you get what you want," Ivy said with a smile as she patted the young man's shoulder.
After I finished bidding on a few items, I stopped participating in the auction. The young man and Ivy also refrained from raising their bids.
The auction continued, and while there were other items I liked, they weren't essential to me, so I chose not to bid again.
Finally, the auction reached its climax—the final item was a ring designed by the British Royal Family, adorned with hundreds of diamonds.
As soon as the ring appeared, it sparked a frenzy among the crowd.
In the end, the ring was sold for one hundred million.
"Thank you all for attending this auction," Zhou Zheng announced from the stage, his voice clear and resonant. "The auction will conclude in ten minutes. Please take a short break, and we will resume in ten minutes."
With that, Zhou Zheng stepped down from the stage.
Feeling bored, I took out my phone and started scrolling through Weibo.
Just as I was getting into it, a man suddenly blocked my view.
"Hello, miss," he said with a smile.
"Hello," I looked up and recognized him as the young man with yellow hair from earlier.
"My name is Ivan. What’s yours?" Ivan asked.
"My surname is Su," I replied.
"Miss Su, nice to meet you," Ivan said. "I’d like to ask you a question, if that's alright?"
"What question?" I regarded him warily.
"Please don’t misunderstand; I mean no harm," Ivan quickly added upon seeing my guarded expression. "I just wanted to know if you came here specifically for that auction item."
"What auction item?" I asked, puzzled.
"The guitar," Ivan clarified.
"And what if I did?" I countered.
"Could you tell me why you want to bid on that guitar?" Ivan inquired.
"I like it," I answered simply and directly.
"Just like it?" Ivan questioned skeptically.
"What else would it be?" I raised an eyebrow at him.
"You don’t seem like someone who simply likes that guitar," Ivan remarked. "Are you after something more?"
"I don’t know what you’re talking about," I said, feeling annoyed.
"Miss Su, please don’t take it the wrong way," Ivan explained. "I’m just curious; after all, your behavior seems a bit unusual."
