Wang Chao had not touched the Panlong Blade for over a month. As he picked it up again, he felt the familiar grip and the same balance as before. A Bull Elephant charged at him, surprised and pleased to see someone who did not flee but instead welcomed the confrontation. It lifted a foot, intending to pierce Wang Chao directly. In that moment, Wang Chao raised the Panlong Blade to block. 0

The sharp claws of the Bull Elephant collided with the blade, sending a powerful shockwave through Wang Chao's hand, causing his palm to crack and blood to flow. Simultaneously, the Bull Elephant's claw broke at the root, tearing away a large chunk of flesh from its foot. The pain rendered the Elephant unable to put weight on that leg. With one leg compromised and in the heat of the moment, it lost its balance and fell heavily to the ground, its massive body threatening to crush Wang Chao beneath it. 0

The Elephant weighed several tons; if it landed on Wang Chao, there would be no escape for him. Seeing this, Wang Chao quickly retreated. However, the sheer size of the Elephant made it difficult to evade such a vast area of impact. In an instant, Wang Chao crouched low and planted the handle of the Panlong Blade into the ground, pointing the blade upward. 0

At that moment, the Elephant crashed down directly onto the tip of Wang Chao's blade, which pierced through its soft belly and into its internal organs. In this clash of strength, Wang Chao's randomly positioned Panlong Blade found its mark without needing precise aim. 0

Soon after, the enormous corpse of the Elephant lay atop Wang Chao. Behind it, more Elephants continued their charge forward, trampling over their fallen companion without a second thought. Wang Chao could feel the ground tremble beneath him as dozens of Elephants approached. Realizing this, he activated his mutation skill and donned his Golden Armor; he could not afford to die under an Elephant's foot—it would be too humiliating. 0

Indeed, as time passed, Wang Chao felt as if the earth was splitting apart beneath him. Fortunately, the softness of the Elephant's belly absorbed much of the force. Combined with his Golden Armor, he sustained minimal impact. After about a minute, he sensed that all the Elephants had rushed past him. With effort, he pushed aside the weight of the dead Elephant and crawled out. 0

From a distance, he saw a herd of Elephants wreaking havoc on buildings in an attempt to flush out the guards hiding inside. The guards fired from within, aiming for the Elephants' eyes. A volley of bullets struck one Elephant down on the ground. Yet these Elephants seemed relentless in their pursuit; they showed no signs of retreating. Wang Chao understood their motivation—given their size, they likely needed hundreds of people daily just to feel full. 0

At this moment, instead of pursuing further, Wang Chao climbed onto the roof of a low building about three meters high—less than half an Elephant's height. Many nearby structures had already been destroyed, forcing guards to retreat from their positions as Elephants charged forward. 0

The guards maintained their composure while falling back under fire; they were among China's elite forces and displayed remarkable coordination as they retreated—frontline members pulled back while those behind provided covering fire. Despite their thick skin and tough bodies, even these Elephants struggled against such heavy gunfire and turned their backs to retaliate with their tails swinging wildly. 0

Meanwhile, Wang Chao retrieved his Sniper Rifle from his Spatial Ring. Instead of lying prone with his weapon, he stood atop the building with one hand holding the rifle and his finger poised on the trigger. Through his scope, he spotted several Elephants in the distance. Back in Jing City Safe Zone, he had learned about sniping from Liu Jie; although he was not yet an expert marksman then, his accuracy had improved significantly since awakening. 0

At this range with his Sniper Rifle, distance was hardly a factor; wind speed or heart rate were irrelevant. An Elephant's eye came into view through his scope. Without hesitation or conscious thought, he pulled the trigger—a bullet spiraled out and struck directly into an Elephant's eye. This Sniper Rifle was one of China's most advanced weapons; only three existed before the Zombie crisis: one with Liu Jie, another with Shen Zhiying, and this one in Wang Chao's possession. 0

The powerful shot penetrated deep into the Elephant's skull; it collapsed immediately. Without pause, Wang Chao fired again at another Elephant nearby—it too fell in response to his shot. Previously at a silver level in marksmanship without formal training, Wang Chao’s skills had vastly improved after awakening; now he operated well beyond that level. 0

Wang Chao fired again, feeling that his accuracy with the Sniper Rifle had increased exponentially. By the end, he was able to fire almost instantaneously, each shot taking down an Elephant. There were only twenty Elephants in total, yet within a short span of time, Wang Chao had already killed seven or eight of them. It looked like a one-sided massacre. 0

At this moment, the guards stopped retreating and began to advance, coordinating their movements with Wang Chao. Before long, only a few Elephants remained. Meanwhile, Zhu Feng had led over a thousand villagers around to the back of the main force. It seemed he had secretly infiltrated the village during the battle to rescue these villagers. 0

Five minutes later, the last Elephant was shot dead by the guards. This battle between humans and Elephants ended in victory for the guards, with all Elephants eliminated. The guards had only lost two men and had five injured at the beginning. Such a result was already excellent. Wang Chao put away his Sniper Rifle and jumped down from the roof of the building, walking up to the main force. 0

"Bring the bodies of the guards back to the capital," Wang Chao sighed and said. "Bury the bodies of the villagers who died here on-site. Zhu Feng, you take your people back to the capital first and call for a convoy to wait at the roadblock. We will take the villagers away shortly!" 0

"Understood!" 0
