In an instant, cold sweat trickled down Wang Chao's back. Just last night, he had promised Aivina to take good care of Aikun'er, but now, early in the morning, Aikun'er had already vanished without a trace, and no one around had seen her. Where could Aikun'er have gone? Wang Chao shook his head. At that moment, the woman from outside walked in and, upon realizing Aikun'er was missing, immediately knelt on the ground.
"Captain, Captain, I—I really don't know when she left!" the Female Guard hurriedly said.
Wang Chao helped her up and said, "It's not your fault; it's okay. Remember, you must not tell anyone about this. We have to act as if Aikun'er is still here. Just say she is sick to outsiders. Prepare her meals every day and eat them in the room. Understood?"
"I understand!" the Female Guard replied.
Although Aivina was gone, it wouldn't be long before the Black-Clad Society infiltrated the Zhonghu Safety Zone. Wang Chao could tell that even with his heels; if they learned that Aikun'er was missing, Aivina would undoubtedly go all out and lead the Black Clothes Society members to confront Zhonghu Safety Zone directly. Before Shen Zhitao returned, Zhonghu Safety Zone would definitely not be a match for the Black Clothes Society.
"That's it!" With that, Wang Chao stood on the balcony and looked around; there were no signs of struggle or anything unusual. However, this was only the second floor; at Platinum Level, one could easily leap up. With that thought in mind, Wang Chao jumped down. As he landed, he noticed footprints—those made by someone who had jumped down from here as well. A smile crept onto his lips; it seemed that Aikun'er had indeed run away.
But then there were no more footprints. The previous ones were merely impressions left by falling from a height onto the Concrete Floor, making it difficult to leave any marks. Wang Chao quickly dashed out and found that the guards on the side had not noticed him. He shook his head; it appeared there were still some issues with the building's defenses. Glancing over, he saw Li Kai waiting in front of the building.
Wang Chao called Li Kai over and said, "Follow me quickly!"
With that, Li Kai followed Wang Chao as they ran outside the Safe Zone. Based on their calculations, Aikun'er shouldn't have gotten too far. Wang Chao rubbed his temples; although Aikun'er couldn't have run far, he didn't know her direction. If he recklessly pursued her without knowing where to go, he could end up going completely off course.
"I've never seen that girl before! She's so beautiful! If I could marry her as my wife, it would be like accumulating eight lifetimes of virtue!" one guard at the entrance of the Safe Zone said to another. "And she's already at Platinum Level at such a young age; her future is limitless!"
"Just you? You old Loser! I think she'd be better off marrying me!" another guard retorted.
At that moment, Wang Chao reached the entrance and overheard their conversation. He stopped in his tracks and turned to ask, "Which way did that girl go?"
The two guards recognized Wang Chao immediately; during their previous encounter with the Black Clothes Society, Wang Chao's strength had been nothing short of extraordinary—far beyond what his golden eyes suggested. One of them quickly replied, "That girl went West."
"How long ago did she leave?" Wang Chao asked again.
"It's been almost two hours!" the guard said.
Wang Chao nodded at the two of them and then took off running with Li Kai. West, West—it was desolate out there. That little guy couldn't really be heading towards the zombies. With that thought, Wang Chao quickened his pace, and soon Li Kai could no longer keep up with him. At that moment, Wang Chao was unleashing all his strength; at the Diamond Upper Level, his speed rivaled that of Little Wolf.
He wondered how much Little Wolf had grown by now, and what had become of Meng Ying Wan Er and the others.
Time passed, and Wang Chao spotted a figure standing on a distant mountain peak. It looked unmistakably like Aikun'er. He couldn't understand why Aikun'er would climb such a high mountain; the path was incredibly steep. Yet, as Wang Chao ascended, it felt as easy as walking on flat ground. Some sections of the mountain were inclined at over seventy degrees, but he continued to run upward.
The higher he climbed, the more he sensed something was off. Many areas had turned into sheer cliffs, nearly vertical. Even Wang Chao found it difficult to find footing; without his formidable strength, he wouldn't have been able to ascend at all. In just two hours, Aikun'er couldn't have taken a detour to reach this height. With her Platinum Lower Level strength, it seemed impossible for her to have made it up here. As he pondered this, Wang Chao kept climbing higher.
"Aikun'er!" he called out. "Aikun'er!"
But the woman did not turn around. At that moment, Wang Chao realized that the figure above was not Aikun'er. Although this girl's silhouette resembled Aikun'er's from afar, up close it became clear she couldn't be Aikun'er—her hair was brown while Aikun'er's was black, and their clothing styles were completely different.
With a swift movement, Wang Chao reached the mountain's summit, yet the girl still hadn't turned around. Was she deaf?
Just as Wang Chao was about to place his hand on her shoulder, she suddenly spun around and grabbed his arm with one hand. Despite Wang Chao's efforts to break free, he found himself unable to pull away from her grip. At Diamond Upper Level strength, this meant her power must be extraordinary—definitely beyond the lower tier of extraordinary.
Otherwise, even if Wang Chao couldn't extract his arm, he shouldn't be unable to budge her at all. Could it be that this girl possessed King-level strength? Suddenly alarmed, Wang Chao activated his Breathing Technique to gauge her true power. However, an even greater force immediately suppressed his aura completely, making him feel like a sheep facing a tiger.
It felt like an instinctive fear; Wang Chao gritted his teeth and struggled to dispel this deep-seated terror within him, but it proved difficult. In that moment, he recognized the girl before him—she had a simple name that almost seemed irresponsible: Little Grass! She was the first person he saw after being bitten by a zombie and waking up.
Moreover, his Spatial Ring had been given to him by this little girl!
