"Can you bring that Bone Arrow over here?" Wang Chao said. "Zhuang Peng is meticulous and inherently suspicious, always engaging in some mysterious activities under the guise of being prepared for the worst. I believe the clue is likely on this Bone Arrow."
Tang Feng didn't hesitate and quickly retrieved the Bone Arrow, handing it to Wang Chao. As Wang Chao took the Bone Arrow, he observed that it had undergone slight changes since he last saw it. The air holes at the back had shifted slightly, and the texture on the surface was smoother, indicating that it had been further refined and processed. It was heavier than before, ensuring it could shoot farther.
Wang Chao could only discern this much; if Shen Zhiying were to examine it, she would surely notice more details. He glanced at Shen Zhiying, who said nothing more. She picked up the Bone Arrow and contemplated for a moment before stating, "This Bone Arrow is more powerful than before, and the bones are from young individuals—whether they are zombies or humans remains uncertain."
Da Qiang was unaware of the grievances between Zhuang Peng and Wang Chao; he simply asked, "Why use bones to make arrows?"
"Every second someone dies," Shen Zhiying replied. "Bones are more readily available and quicker to source compared to other materials. They are more reliable than steel or similar materials. However, based solely on this arrow, we cannot determine its origin. Therefore, I have no idea where Zhuang Peng is. But let me remind you, if you don't rescue my sister, I'll castrate you!"
Her cold gaze made Wang Chao feel she truly meant it, causing him to shiver involuntarily.
"That's strange!" Wang Chao exclaimed. "What exactly did he say?"
"He only told you to find him!" Tang Feng replied.
Since Zhuang Peng said this, it meant he was in a place that Wang Chao could locate. Realizing this, Wang Chao slapped his thigh. If both of them knew of this place, it would ensure that Wang Chao would go there; the only possible location was the junction between Yucheng and Jing City. With this thought in mind, Wang Chao asked Wu Wan'er, "Do you know if there are any factories at the border between Jing City and Yucheng?"
Wu Wan'er responded, "There is indeed an area." As she spoke, Da Qiang pulled out a map of Jing City. Wu Wan'er pointed to a spot, and Wang Chao nodded. "I'll set off immediately to check it out! Tang Feng, you lead the team and head out as well. I can move faster than you; when we get there, you can lurk around and take action when the opportunity arises. The rest of you should stay in the Safe Zone and continue with the eastern trade matters."
Everyone nodded in agreement. Wang Chao decisively stated, "That's settled; let's depart right away."
The journey itself doesn't need elaboration; with Little Wolf accompanying them, their speed was impressive—they arrived in almost four hours. The subsequent team naturally lagged behind in speed; however, Wang Chao believed they would catch up after breaking ties with Zhuang Peng. Upon entering this area, Wang Chao already sensed that this place was most likely Zhuang Peng's camp.
There were obvious signs of human cleaning, which became clear when compared to the surrounding buildings.
"This is it!" Wang Chao turned to Little Grudge, who had been following him. "Are you coming in with me, or staying out here?" Little Grudge had been busy with Shen Zhiying before, but today he continued to follow Wang Chao. Hearing the question, Little Grudge replied, "My relationship with Sister Shen Zhiying is so good; how could I not rescue her sister?"
"Then you won't stab me in the back, right..." Wang Chao said, a hint of unease in his voice.
Little Grudge shot him a glance and replied, "Of course not. If I wanted to kill you, I'd wait until after rescuing Sister Shen Zhitao!"
Wang Chao nodded and said, "Alright then, follow me!"
With that, Wang Chao pushed open the gate of the industrial area. The gate was somewhat rusty and creaked loudly as it opened, the sound carrying far. However, Wang Chao didn't mind; he intended for Zhuang Peng's people to know he had arrived. As the gate swung open, two members of the Outpost emerged from the side. They scrutinized Wang Chao before asking, "Who are you? Survivor?"
Wang Chao shook his head and said, "My name is Wang Chao. I believe you've heard of this name!"
"You’re Wang Chao?" The two were taken aback and glanced into the distance before saying, "So you really are Wang Chao? Good! Since you're here, come with us! Brother Zhuang has been waiting for you inside! You two stay here on guard!"
Wang Chao didn't say much more and followed behind the man as they walked deeper inside. Along the way, Little Grudge whispered in Wang Chao's ear, "There are many Outpost members here; they’re all hidden. But I can sense their presence." Wang Chao didn’t turn around but calmly replied, "That’s natural; otherwise, Zhuang Peng wouldn’t have sent us here. He surely thinks that no matter how many of us there are, we won’t be his match."
"Arrogant and suspicious!" Wang Chao chuckled to himself and said, "Interesting."
They continued forward until they reached a large warehouse. The Outpost member led Wang Chao there and said, "Brother Zhuang is waiting for you inside; just go in."
The warehouse door was closed. Upon hearing this, Wang Chao stepped forward and attempted to pull it open. However, just as he managed to create a small gap, he suddenly sensed danger coming from ahead. Without thinking further, he quickly grabbed with his left hand; although his strength wasn’t overwhelming, Wang Chao pretended to struggle as he held tightly onto the warehouse door to prevent himself from being thrown out.
"Good, good, good!" Wang Chao finally heard a voice coming from inside. Who else could it be but Zhuang Peng? He pushed the large door open and threw the arrows onto the ground. Taking a careful look around, he realized this was a vast storage warehouse, but it had already been emptied. A few large shelves stood in the middle, and on top of one of them was Zhuang Peng, holding a bow and arrow.
Beside him was Shen Zhitao, bound tightly. Upon seeing Wang Chao, tears suddenly welled up in her big eyes.
Wang Chao gave her a slight nod.
Zhuang Peng spoke up, "Your strength has improved again; you've reached Golden Intermediate!"
In truth, Wang Chao's strength had already reached Platinum Mid-Tier. However, he used his ability to control his genes to keep the color of his pupils at the Golden Intermediate level. Wang Chao was deliberately feigning weakness to deceive Zhuang Peng, hoping that at a critical moment, he could turn the tables!
