Hiding behind his shield, Wang Chao had no idea what was happening in front of him; he dared not peek out until the gunfire ceased for three to five minutes before Xiao Wei finally called for a stop. The surroundings fell silent as Wang Chao cautiously lifted his head.
The two in front of him had been turned into Swiss cheese by bullets—a perfect collaboration! From the moment they struck until now when they turned defeat into victory—if there had been even one misstep, Yiyi might have been injured or Wang Chao could have been harmed or even killed amidst the gunfire. Yet Wang Chao never worried about such things; they had faced life-and-death situations together more than five or six times already.
This is what a team is supposed to be.
Wang Chao hurried forward to check on Eagle Eye and Ling Feng. He saw that both Ling Feng and Eagle Eye were covered in countless bullet holes, blood oozing from these numerous wounds like boiling water. They were indeed beyond saving. Wang Chao let out a sigh of relief and asked, "Are you all okay?"
Everyone nodded, and Wang Chao finally felt at ease. Then he asked, "What about Third Brother?"
At that moment, Xiao Wei had already cleaned the mud off his face and said with a grin, "When the shooting started, he ran away immediately.
