Survival or destruction? Su Ruolan suddenly recalled a famous quote from Shakespeare. In her past life, she came from a prestigious family, where her parents instilled strict values in her, emphasizing that a woman must not lose her grace or virtue. Su Ruolan had always been dignified and elegant, standing out among the local intellectuals and talents with her remarkable presence. Through love and companionship, they had fought side by side in the apocalypse; despite their meager living conditions, they maintained a simple yet generous demeanor. This was the second time Su Ruolan felt a mix of grief and helplessness, aside from being captured and persecuted. 0

Initially, when faced with brutal persecution, she remained unafraid and resolute, driven by her love for him and her unwavering faith. Even sacrificing herself for her child brought no regrets. But now, having taken on this new body, she was unsure if it was the influence of this inexperienced form or the loneliness of not knowing where he was that made her feel so lost. The uncertainty of whether she could reach the end of the dark path ahead weighed heavily on her, and even someone as strong as Su Ruolan felt a sense of grievance and helplessness when faced with the possibility of sacrificing an arm to survive. 0

"Ruo Lan, there’s another way. That green crystal in the giant snake's belly hasn’t been digested; it survived the dust explosion too. You could try to merge with the Spirit of the Wood inside it; perhaps it can counteract the poison," Reset said, unable to bear seeing Su Ruolan so downcast. 0

"At worst, it’s just this," Su Ruolan replied, feeling Reset's concern and trying to lift her spirits. 0

"This is your first time merging two abilities. Honestly, given your current physical condition, it's not the best timing. But risk and opportunity always coexist. If you can withstand it, you’ll step into a new realm. Soon you’ll return to the pond to absorb the Spirit of the Wood; it will help alleviate the pain from the energy conflict," Reset advised meticulously. 0

"Don't worry; I will do my best," Su Ruolan reassured Reset, sensing their concern. 0

Returning to the Spatial Pool, Su Ruolan held the green crystal in her right hand and began to absorb its energy. Although slow at first, it progressed smoothly; the green crystal gradually dissolved, revealing the Spirit of the Wood inside—a brilliant deep green orb about the size of a glass ball that filled the space with a pure and rich life force in an instant. Suddenly, as if summoned by something, the Spirit of the Wood rushed into Su Ruolan's body. Upon encountering water elements in her meridians, it absorbed them frantically and expanded within her. Su Ruolan found herself in agony as water elements battled against the Spirit of the Wood inside her body. The water elements attempted to dissolve and integrate with the Spirit of the Wood while it sought to absorb all water elements, turning Su Ruolan into a living host providing nutrients. 0

Su Ruolan’s complexion fluctuated between pale and green as a green glass ball became visible moving through her meridians. It gradually shrank to the size of a fingernail before transforming into a misty flow that spread throughout her body. When it reached her left arm, toxins were continuously devoured by this green mist until they vanished completely. The Spirit of the Wood began to merge with the water elements while depleting them significantly. During intense moments, green streams erupted from Su Ruolan's limbs and joints; these streams penetrated her skin and turned into green branches upon contact with air—softly bending and curling as they prepared to extend outward but were pulled back into her body by the water elements within. Where one area was drawn back, another would emerge in a continuous cycle. 0

If anyone were to witness this scene, they would surely find it horrifying. The water level in the Spatial Pool had receded several meters and was now at Su Ruolan's waist. 0

"Faster! You can do it, Ruo Lan!" Reset murmured. 0

Outside in space, Monet sensed through their soul connection that Su Ruolan was at death's door and prayed earnestly, "Master, hang in there!" 0

The deep green color of the elemental flow in her meridians gradually faded until it became light green, flowing quietly within her body before finally gathering at her dantian—a cycle beginning anew from that point onward. Layers of foul-smelling black oil-like substance seeped from Su Ruolan's skin; its stench jolted her out of concentration. Quickly climbing out of the pond, she focused her mind and conjured a wooden bucket tightly woven from branches and vines with her right hand while summoning a large wave of water with her left to wash herself clean. The water from the pond was different from that outside; it was pure energy replenishment liquid that could not be contaminated—and its quantity had diminished significantly—so wasting it was not an option. 0

It took six buckets of water to finally clean everything. Su Ruolan's skin turned a delicate pink, looking as if it could be broken with a touch. Her youthful features were still present, but they appeared even more refined. She had a slender and strong figure, and her demeanor exuded the elegance of an orchid. Her abilities had also advanced two levels, reaching the third tier. 0

"Ruo Lan, you've really made a breakthrough this time. I didn't expect that not only did you merge with the Wood Element, but your abilities have also upgraded, washing away your inner injuries," Reset remarked. "Is it possible that the Water and Wood Elements can not only merge but also be used separately?" 0

"Yes, this Spirit of the Wood is quite strange. The Wood Element contained within is particularly dominant. I feel like I've awakened a healing ability; all my previous internal injuries have healed. This feels different from absorbing the Core; it's more natural and comfortable," Su Ruolan replied uncertainly. 0

"Let me take a look." Reset sent out a strand of consciousness to explore Su Ruolan's dantian. "Indeed. This is a Mutated Wood Element, which is associated with life, and it seems to have evolved into a healing ability." 0

"No wonder I felt something was off during the battle with the giant serpent. With its strength, it could have easily killed us, yet it always seemed to lack the energy to continue fighting. Something must have been overlooked. Now that I think about it, it must have discovered this mutated Spirit of the Wood and intended to refine it to enhance its toxicity, but we interrupted it. No wonder it was so furious and determined to kill us," Monet realized. 0

"Yes, my Water Ability and Wood Ability have both reached the third tier, and my healing ability is at the third tier as well. My Ice Ability has stabilized at the mid-level of tier three. According to the rules of power, you should also be leveling up soon," Su Ruolan suddenly said, noticing Monet's joyful expression and the barely perceptible fluctuation of Reset's consciousness deep within her soul. 0

"Ruo Lan, I need to enter a period of slumber after this upgrade. You take care of everything. If you encounter any life-threatening danger, just use a drop of my blood and call my name to summon me," Reset suddenly instructed. 0

With that, Su Ruolan was isolated from space. 0

"Reset, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Su Ruolan asked anxiously. 0

"This time I used a spatial confinement technique to allow you to upgrade within this space, which caused some backlash. I'll just need to sleep for a while. Don't worry," came the weak voice, returning to its usual cold and emotionless tone. 0

Just as Su Ruolan was about to say something else, energy surged within her sea of consciousness as Monet's ascension glimmered brightly, making communication impossible. 0

She patiently stood guard until their upgrades were complete. Finally, Monet broke through to tier three, elevating her Wind Type ability to mid-tier three and fully recovering from her injuries. 0

"Master, it's so great to follow you! I never expected to level up twice in such a short time. I could only dream of this before. I'm sticking with you for sure." Monet's childish voice had become rough, like that of a teenager entering puberty. 0

Upon hearing Monet's voice, Su Ruolan felt a wave of despair wash over her. Where had the cute little boy gone? It seemed he had vanished in the blink of an eye. 0

However, the safety of Reset was the priority. It was likely that he had been injured while stabilizing his realm earlier and had been enduring it silently. Later, when he forcibly activated a higher-level skill, he must have sustained serious injuries. 0

After this level-up, the original pond in the space had expanded and filled up, transforming into a large pool with two fish swimming in it, seemingly appearing from nowhere. The area resembling a sky became clear, displaying blue skies and white clouds, while the land area revealed hundreds of acres of land. The original house remained unchanged, still looking the same. Su Ruolan called out to Reset several times in her mind but received no response, pushing her worries deep down. 0

"Is Zero Boss okay?" Monet asked with concern. 0

"He's so powerful; he will definitely be fine. Let's just wait for him to return," Su Ruolan encouraged Monet. 0

"Master, where are we going next?" Monet inquired. 0

"We're heading to H Base. I need to find someone," Su Ruolan said, her gaze fixed ahead with determination. 0

Meanwhile, a group of people struggling on Longhu Mountain found themselves trapped in a forest formation. They had been wandering within it for half a day without finding a way out, and despair filled their hearts. Suddenly, they noticed that the forest seemed to come alive again as the formation opened up. They emerged with joy. From then on, their journey was unusually smooth, encountering no dangers at all. 0

The two groups traversed Longhu Mountain from different directions, making their way toward H Base. 0
