One evening, as we gathered together, a sudden message arrived: "If you want Xiao Xuanxuan's body, come to Golden Fish Village to collect it."
The message was unsigned, which meant it could be a hoax. However, Junfeng Wang decided to err on the side of caution and took it seriously. After receiving the message, he stood up and said he would go. Golden Fish Village was not far away; it took about half an hour by car to reach it. The village was mostly deserted at night.
When we arrived, the fishing village was eerily quiet. Even the few houses with lights still on had their doors tightly shut.
At the entrance of the village, we lost our sense of direction and didn’t know where to go.
Just then, a girl in a Pink Princess Dress appeared. With a smile, she said, "Please follow me."
After saying this, she turned and walked away. We exchanged glances but decided to follow her.
The village wasn’t large; she led us through winding paths until we reached a pristine beach.
It was truly clean, as if no one had ever set foot on this forbidden ground.
Junfeng Wang was captivated by the sight of the sea. He slowly spread his arms and walked toward the ocean like a free bird, all under our watchful eyes.
I didn’t notice the strange smile that crept onto the lips of the girl in the Pink Princess Dress.
However, Bai Qiling did see it. He stood in place and called out Junfeng Wang's name and then Xiao Xuanxuan's name. Finally, Junfeng Wang stirred from his trance and turned around, his face still bearing that dreamy expression.
His already fragile mind looked at Bai Qiling with a puzzled "Why?" expression.
Bai Qiling had no choice but to run over and pull him back from the edge.
Seeing her plan fail, the girl in the Pink Princess Dress ran away in disappointment.
So there we were, left alone on that pristine beach.
To avoid boredom, we sat together and chatted. By this time, Junfeng Wang seemed much better; he no longer appeared as dazed as before. We talked about everything we could think of, even discussing animated images of underwater worlds.
Eventually, there was nothing left to do, and I felt very tired, extremely tired...
I fell asleep holding onto Mu Xuanche.
When I woke up, it was not on the beach but in a simple yet elegant room.
As I wondered who had brought me here, a man walked in through the door. He was tall and thin, with a pale, sickly complexion, and he looked quite enchanting.
Seeing that I was awake, he casually sat on my bed and said, "You're awake? Do you want to change clothes before going down for breakfast?"
At that moment, I felt something was off. Was I the only one here? Where did this man come from?
So I directly asked, "Excuse me, who are you? Where are my companions?"
He chuckled lightly. "Don't think of me as a bad person. I'm also a sorcerer. My name is Feng Yu, and I'm skilled in artifact crafting." He paused for a moment before continuing, "As for your companions, I'm sorry, but I haven't seen them. When I went to the beach, you were the only one there, so I brought you back."
I pressed on with my questions. "How do you know I'm a sorcerer? Do you know me?"
Feng Yu shook his head. "I noticed the presence of spiritual energy within you when I checked your body, and I saw that you had a few talismans in your pocket."
Looking at this man, he didn't seem like a liar, so I said, "Could you please take me back to the city? I'll take a taxi home."
Feng Yu looked puzzled. "I can take you back directly. Why make it so complicated?"
Hearing this made me feel grateful, and I quickly thanked him. "That would be great. Thank you."
Feng Yu smiled and waved his hand dismissively. "No problem. We'll leave this afternoon and I'll take you home."
I never hesitated to smile at those who were friendly to me, so I gave him a big smile in return.
Feng Yu smiled gently, "Shall we go downstairs for a meal? Aren't you hungry?"
As soon as the topic of food came up, my stomach growled. Feeling a bit embarrassed, I covered my belly and got up to follow him downstairs.
He grabbed a brand new set of toiletries and led me to the bathroom.
Once he stepped out, I patted my face and muttered, "Gu Yanxi, you really embarrassed yourself today!" Then I whispered to myself, "Where are Mu Xuanche and Bai Qiling? How did we end up separated?"
I took a deep breath in front of the mirror. It's okay, Gu Yanxi! We'll head back this afternoon!
After I finished washing up, I went outside for breakfast.
Feng Yu's home seemed quite affluent; the building was a multi-functional villa, likely with staff to clean. The clothes Feng Yu wore looked high-quality, and he seemed well-mannered. I felt fortunate; otherwise, encountering someone with ill intentions by the seaside would have been troublesome.
After finishing breakfast, feeling rather bored, I suggested returning. He looked at me apologetically and said, "I'm sorry, but our car is in for repairs and won't be back until this afternoon. If you're feeling bored, how about I accompany you for a walk by the beach? It's very close by; I have a private beach that no one else can access. The water there is very clean. Would you like to go swimming?"
Since his car was being repaired, I didn't want to press the issue further. Besides, he didn't seem like a bad person, and his suggestion intrigued me.
Noticing my hesitation, Feng Yu simply left my doorway.
I was puzzled... Did I upset him somehow?
Before long, he returned with several swimsuits in hand, all quite modest, allowing me to choose one.
Being someone who pays attention to details, I felt reassured by the conservative swimsuits he offered; he really didn’t seem like a bad person.
Feeling shy, I picked one out and wrapped myself in a large shawl before heading to the beach with him.
What he said was true; he really did have a private beach by the sea, and it was indeed very clean. However, why did it all feel so familiar?
The private beach was off-limits to tourists, so how could I possibly recognize it?
I shook my head, realizing I was probably overthinking things.
The air wasn't too hot; the salty sea breeze felt somewhat pleasant against my face. Looking at the vast, azure ocean, my mind seemed to clear up a bit.
I sat on a rock while Feng Yu dove straight into the water. When he resurfaced, he had a fish in one hand and a sea clam in the other.
He poked his head out and shouted in my direction, "Which do you like? The fish or the clam?"
I was a bit taken aback that he actually went down to find these things for me.
So I shouted back, "Let the fish go; it's hard to keep. I want that clam!"
He smiled at me and then released the fish back into the water.
He was too far away for me to see him clearly.
Suddenly, I felt a pang of sadness. If Mu Xuanche were here, he would definitely help me find some unique treasures from the sea.
Thinking of Mu Xuanche sparked an idea in my mind: if I went home this afternoon, could I come back here with Mu Xuanche? Someone as nice as Feng Yu would surely agree.
I spent the entire morning sitting on the rock and playing in the water. After lunch, when I returned home, Feng Yu asked if I wanted to go back now. Of course, I readily agreed.
My phone and wallet were missing, and they weren't with Feng Yu either. I guessed that Mu Xuanche and the others were still at the villa, so I asked Feng Yu to take me there.
When I got back, Bai Qiling happened to be on the second floor. As soon as he saw me, he rushed down to open the door.
He asked, "Where have you been? We just slept on the beach all night; you were gone by early morning."
As I stepped through the door, I helplessly said to Bai Qiling, "I’m not sure either; anyway, I won’t be with you all anymore."
Bai Qiling glanced at Feng Yu behind me and quietly asked, "Is this guy your friend?"
I smiled and replied, "Yeah, I’m staying at his place."
He warmly invited Feng Yu to come in and sit down, suggesting that he wanted to treat him to dinner later.
Mu Xuanche was sitting in the living room, contacting someone from Qilin Island to dispatch people to find me.
As soon as he saw me enter the living room, he immediately said into the phone, "Never mind, cancel the operation."
Then he strode over and pulled me tightly into his embrace, resting his chin on my head while repeatedly calling out, "Yan Xi, Yan Xi."
