Ruo Qing walked up to me, prompting me to look up at her.
Mu Yancheng's expression was somewhat tense as he watched me, but I faced Ruo Qing with calmness.
She stared at me for a moment, and then her expression suddenly changed.
After a quick recovery to her normal demeanor, she turned to the gatekeeper and began reprimanding him.
"What is wrong with you all? Don't you know that Xuan Wang is a guest of the sect leader? You dare to stop his people? Do you all want to die? Are you looking to experience the Torture Devices in the Dungeon?"
Her words frightened those guards, causing them to tremble and refrain from stopping me any further.
I followed Mu Yancheng and Ruo Qing through the door. After walking for a while, I noticed Ruo Qing discreetly signaling me.
I turned to Mu Yancheng and said, "Just wait here for me."
He initially wanted to refuse, but was silenced by the Bone Whistle I produced.
Then he obediently waved his hand in front of me, signaling for me to go.
After taking a few steps behind Ruo Qing, she suddenly opened a door on the side and pulled me inside.
After a dizzying spin, I finally came to a stop.
She stared at me, reaching out to tug at my skin.
This skin of mine wasn’t just casually stuck on; it had undergone Bai Qiling's special craftsmanship, ensuring it wouldn’t be torn off easily or peel even when soaked in water.
It could only be removed with Bai Qiling's special potion.
After pulling at it for some time without any reaction, she finally gave up and held my face, asking, "Who exactly are you?"
I smiled lightly, "Haven't you already guessed?"
I didn't believe she would act this way without having some idea.
"Gu Yanxi,"
She looked at me with a puzzled expression.
Hearing my old friend's voice calling my name, I immediately rushed forward to embrace her.
"Ruo Qing, it's been a long time."
But she quickly pushed me away. "Have you lost your mind? Coming here? And please don't hug me with that creepy face of yours."
"Alright, I see I'm being rejected,"
I chuckled as I looked at her. Seeing that she seemed to be doing well in the Cult of Spirits reassured me.
She grabbed my hand and lowered her voice as she spoke. "How did you end up here?"
I shared my future plans with her, confident that this woman, whom I regarded as a friend, would never betray me.
"You Shangguan Mingyue,"
She countered, and I nodded in affirmation.
"Yan Xi, you shouldn't get involved in this. It's beyond your control. You should hurry down the mountain. I promise Mingyue is doing just fine here."
The more she insisted, the less I wanted to leave. I wanted to see for myself how Mingyue was really doing.
As long as I could catch a glimpse, I would be safe.
Ruo Qing ultimately couldn't resist me and led me to find Mingyue. She then waited at the spot while I could see a man and a woman sitting across from each other in the courtyard ahead.
Since they were both facing away from me, I couldn't clearly recognize them. However, I could sense that the figure really resembled Mingyue's silhouette.
Ruo Qing called out to the man, "Master..."
The woman beside the Master slowly turned her head, and when I saw her face, it was indeed Mingyue. She looked well and was sitting shoulder to shoulder with the Master, indicating that she must hold a significant position in the Spirit Sect.
It seemed I really didn't need to worry about her safety anymore. Not long after, Ruo Qing returned.
After walking a short distance with her, she finally stopped and turned to look at me, saying, "Now that you've seen her, are you satisfied?"
I smiled wryly at her. "Yes, seeing him so happy is enough for me."
"Ruo Qing, you must take care of yourself. This place isn't safe for long; I want to leave now."
In the end, Ruo Qing decided to escort me out. She was worried that I might get lost and encounter trouble.
Fortunately, Mu Yancheng was still willing to listen to Mu Xuanche. When I came out, he remained in place waiting for me.
From a distance, Mu Yancheng approached me with a smile on his face.
"How is it? Did you see anyone?" he asked.
"No, I didn't find anyone," I replied.
For the safety of Mingyue and for Ruo Qing, I lied to Mu Yancheng.
Seeing my disappointed expression, he thought it was genuine and encouraged me not to lose hope, suggesting that the person might not be here after all.
Mu Yancheng probably didn’t know who Mingyue was; he only knew I was looking for someone but not specifically who.
He led me down the mountain, and the descent was much easier than the ascent.
I had initially hoped to check the prison to see if my master was there, but once I realized that Mu Yancheng was the one guiding me, that thought completely vanished.
Asking him to help me find my master would be like jumping into a pit of fire.
After Mu Yancheng brought me down the mountain, we stood by the sea. I gently blew the Bone Whistle.
Not long after, a boat appeared on the once calm sea surface. Without needing to look closely, I knew it was Mu Xuanche coming to pick me up.
"Sister-in-law, look at all the trouble I've gone through for you. Aren't you going to thank me?"
This guy still wanted thanks. Since we hadn’t left the Cult of Spirits' territory, I couldn’t confront him directly.
So I asked, "What kind of thanks do you want?"
He calmly replied, "Sister-in-law, could you lend me a look at the Bone Whistle around your neck?"
Borrowing this for him to see, does he really think I'm a fool?
Mu Xuanche left me something for self-protection; how could I possibly lend it to him?
As I hesitated on how to refuse him, I noticed the boat approaching me.
Mu Xuanche stood at the bow, his body straight and tall.
Though he wore a simple black shirt, his aura was captivating, making it hard to look away.
At this point, I didn't need to pay any attention to Mu Yancheng. Ignoring the cold sea water and the fact that the boat hadn't docked yet, I leaped towards the water's surface.
Seeing me jump over, Mu Xuanche furrowed his brow and followed suit.
After grabbing hold of me, he climbed back onto the boat.
The vessel slowly made its way to shore, and Mu Yancheng also boarded.
"Thank you for your hard work," Mu Xuanche said calmly, not revealing much emotion.
How could these two brothers be so different? Although they weren't born from the same womb, didn't they share their father's genes?
"Xuan Wang, what about the promise you made me?"
Mu Xuanche pulled out a white bottle from his pocket and handed it to Mu Yancheng, then told him, "You can leave now."
After receiving the item, Mu Yancheng uncorked the bottle and took a sniff, a smile curling at the corners of his mouth.
"Thank you, Xuan Wang,"
he said before leaping off the boat.
Mu Xuanche ordered the Boatman to turn around and then pulled me into the Inner Coffin.
Once inside, I intended to discuss what had happened earlier, but to my surprise, he seemed completely uninterested.
He was insistent on removing my clothes, and I clutched my buttons tightly, determined not to let him have his way.
I questioned him loudly about what he was trying to do.
With a serious expression, he told me that his baozi was going to spoil.
I was momentarily taken aback, not understanding his words. By the time I regained my senses, my clothes had already been undone, and the gauze wrapped around me had been removed as well.
Without the constraints, I could breathe freely and finally understood what he meant.
I hadn't expected this guy to be so fixated on such thoughts; his hands were on my softness, pressing and kneading with a grin on his face.
Seeing him like this, an image of Jin Ping and Mu Yancheng from earlier flashed through my mind, combined with that face identical to Mu Xuanche's, sending a chill down my spine.
I pushed Mu Xuanche away forcefully, and his expression darkened instantly.
He looked at me with a scowl, his narrowed eyes filled with danger.
"Gu Yanxi, your courage is growing by the day," he said.
I pouted as I explained everything that had happened in the afternoon to Mu Xuanche, cursing Mu Yancheng a thousand times in my mind. "You have no idea how twisted that guy is. Just thinking about that face that looks exactly like yours makes me want to vomit."
"By the way, what did you just give him?" I asked Mu Xuanche, my curiosity piqued by the importance he seemed to place on whatever it was.
"My blood," he replied.
I didn't quite understand what he meant and asked again, "Your blood?"
He nodded. "The blood from my ear is the biggest benefit for Mu Yancheng. It can prevent his skin from turning back to the original Zombie color. If he reverts, his body will become stiff, so he needs my blood to maintain it."
