In the night sky, a bright moon hung overhead.
I desperately pointed at the moon, hoping he would understand my meaning.
But this fool, who usually seemed quite clever, was acting as dumb as a pig today and just couldn't grasp it.

His slender, pale fingers looked like mere skin stretched over bones, a sight that tugged at my heartstrings.

I quickly lowered my hand and looked at him with concern, asking if he was alright.
He lightly smiled at me, indicating that he was fine.

Chuchen slowly walked in front of Bai Qiling and said, "Yan Xi, she probably doesn't mean to take you to see the moon; she likely refers to the bright moon."

Once inside Bai Qiling's room, he gestured for me to sit down and placed a pen and paper on the table.

I believed he would never harm Shangguan Mingyue, so I wrote everything down and told him.
After he finished reading my note, he looked up at me, his eyes filled with shock. He asked, "Are you sure it was Mingyue who was in danger and called for your help?"
I snatched the paper and pen from his hands and continued writing.
I wrote that the message came from Mingyue's phone number, but it wasn't sent by her personally; I couldn't confirm that. I also informed Bai Qiling about Mu Xuanche's findings regarding Mingyue being in the Cult of Spirits, so he understood the entire situation.
Chuchen had also come with us earlier, and he had seen everything I wrote on the note.
When I mentioned Mingyue being in the Cult of Spirits, he exclaimed softly.
Both Bai Qiling and I turned our attention to him, and I asked why he suddenly made a sound.
He furrowed his brow and replied, "You say Shangguan Mingyue is in the Cult of Spirits? That could really be possible. Before I left the Cult of Spirits, I saw someone who looked very much like her near the leader's room. At that time, I thought I must have been mistaken. Chuchen's answer confirmed for me that Mingyue was indeed in the Cult of Spirits. Her phone was a gift from her parents when she went up the mountain; she never left it behind.

I asked Bai Qiling if he had any ideas, but he told me that this text message could not possibly have been sent by Mingyue.
"Why?"
If I weren't unable to speak right now, I would have shouted this instead of writing it down.

He walked over and pulled me up. Although his tone was very serious, there was still a hint of concern in it.
"The ground is cold; stand up."
Sensing his attitude, I immediately picked up the paper and pen from the ground.
Before I could write anything, he pressed down on my hand.
"You're right about Bai Qiling. Even if something really happened to Mingyue, she wouldn't call for your help."
