The words of these people were almost indistinguishable from the truth, so I quietly watched them without speaking.
Once everyone had finished and things seemed to settle down, I snapped back to reality.
"Now that everyone has expressed their opinions, let's submit the list for departure," I said.
Suddenly realizing what submitting the list meant, I turned to Mu Xuanche in confusion and asked what it was about.
He didn’t answer me but handed over a piece of paper after writing a few words on it, then returned it to me.
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught sight of my name written on it, along with another name: Mu Hansheng.
I didn’t understand what it meant when he already pulled me up and led me out.
Back in the room, after confirming the door was securely closed, I sat down to ask him,
"What just happened? Why was my name written on that paper?"
Mu Xuanche explained that the old man from Lingyun Pavilion announced at the meeting that he wanted to participate in the expedition to Qin Wang's Tomb, so he wrote my name down. Since he couldn’t appear himself, he put down the name of Da Han instead.
I didn’t understand why we had to go to Ying Ziying's tomb; anyone with clear eyes could tell that the tomb was fake. I urged Mu Xuanche to tell me the reason.
He smiled at me. "Although it's not Qin Wang's tomb, it doesn’t mean it isn’t a tomb from the Qin State."
"What do you mean?" I asked him.
"You'll find out once we go."
Soon after, those of us who agreed to depart boarded the vehicle arranged by the old man from Lingyun Pavilion.
By the way, this old man is named Chen Jiang, and his heir is called Chen Han.
Having suffered losses in front of me before, Chen Han looked at me with eyes full of malice when he saw me.
It seems like he has developed a grudge against me, but who’s afraid of whom? It’s just a grudge, so come at me if you dare.
I glared back at him. He wanted to get angry, but was held back by Chen Jiang beside him.
Mu Xuanche tugged at my hand and whispered to me, “Remember, don’t let your emotions get the better of you.”

This tomb we were heading to was located deep within a little-known primeval forest. Due to its remote location, it had remained undiscovered for a long time.
I was curious about how the Ancients managed to hide it. The several Great Tombs I had experienced were all situated in desolate mountain valleys, far from human habitation. Moreover, those tomb complexes were vast and intricately constructed.

Upon reaching our destination, we found ourselves in the primeval forest, which meant we couldn’t drive our vehicles any further.

After walking along the mountain path, everything went relatively smoothly since everyone had some skills.
As it was getting dark and not suitable for traveling, we set up camp directly in the woods.
Mu Xuanche and I kept our marital relationship under wraps, so we received two tents to rest separately.
I really disliked this group of men; out of more than twenty people, there were only three women.
The other pair consisted of a master and disciple—two Taoist Priestesses.
It was quite inconvenient having a man like this around. Even when changing clothes inside the tent, one could see shadows from outside, revealing what was happening inside.
I didn’t recognize any of these people, and I lost all desire to talk.
I went straight into the tent, not wanting anyone outside to see what I was doing. I didn’t even turn on the light.
As soon as I entered, I was attacked by a shadow. Fortunately, my reflexes were quick enough to recognize who it was; otherwise, I would have screamed.
“When did you get here? You scared me to death,” I said.
Mu Xuanche was like a dragon that appeared only when it wanted to; I had been standing at the entrance of the tent just moments ago and hadn’t seen him come in.
He lowered his hand that had been covering my mouth and pulled me into his embrace, resting his head on my neck.
I could feel him take a deep breath against my neck, which made me blush with embarrassment.
At this moment, my feelings for him were so intense that one day apart felt like three years. As soon as he held me close, I turned around.
Following his scent in the darkness, I prepared to find his lips and kiss him.
After all, it was so dark that no one could see what I was doing.
He paused for a moment before flipping over and pinning me down.
Suddenly, I was knocked to the ground as he pressed down on me, slowly tracing my lips with his own.
I could feel his hand gradually moving towards the inside of my clothes. When his hand reached the buttons…
Suddenly…
“Gu Si, are you asleep?”
An elderly voice from outside the tent interrupted us. Mu Xuanche halted his movements and adjusted my clothing.
I leaned out to see Chen Jiang standing at a distance, grinning at me.
"Is there something you need, Chen, the Sect Leader?" I asked.
"Gu Si, we several sect leaders are discussing matters for tomorrow. Would you like to join us?"
Though he was asking for my opinion, his gaze made it clear that refusal was not an option. Since we were all out together, I decided not to make things awkward. I told him to wait a moment and that I would be right over.
Back in the tent, I asked Mu Xuanche if he wanted to come along. He told me to go ahead first and that he would join later.
Once everyone was seated, we began by introducing our specialties before assigning tasks, which was quite reasonable.
When it was my turn, Chen Jiang asked what I excelled at.
My martial skills were lacking; all I could manage was spear techniques, which hardly seemed impressive.
After some contemplation, I finally told them that I could tell fortunes and make predictions.
To my surprise, Chen Jiang immediately perked up, clapping his hands in excitement.
"I didn't expect Gu Si to be so skilled at such a young age! The Five Elements and Eight Trigrams are not something just anyone can master; it requires some talent."
I could only respond humbly, "Sect Leader Chen is too kind. I'm merely familiar with the basics."
Soon after, I regretted my words. This old man seemed to think I truly understood the Five Elements and Eight Trigrams and insisted on having me lead the way for everyone to follow.
I felt like slapping him right then and there but reluctantly accepted the task.
After agreeing, the group of old men began discussing fervently again. Bored, I glanced around the tent, wondering what Mu Xuanche was doing since he hadn't returned yet.
"Ah,"
As everyone was fervently discussing, a piercing scream suddenly echoed, startling everyone.
After a moment of shock, everyone stood up and ran toward the source of the scream.
My speed was neither the fastest nor the slowest; for safety, I positioned myself in the middle.
When we reached the scene, we were met with a horrifying sight.
A person was hanging from a tree, her lower legs severed, blood dripping profusely onto the ground.
It was the Taoist Priestess; her master had just been in a meeting with us moments ago.
Seeing her in such a state made her master rush forward, but I sensed something was off.
Just as she was about to touch her disciple, I dashed forward and pulled her back.
In that instant, her disciple's body exploded above us, and flames singed my hair.
That was close; if I hadn't pulled her back just now, she would have followed her disciple into death.
Those brought here must be successors. She looked at the flames, crying uncontrollably, and pushed me away with force.
The sudden shove caught me off guard, and I fell to the ground.
Understanding her emotional turmoil, I didn't blame her for it.
A force from behind lifted me up; I turned to see Mu Xuanche.
I leaned against him as he helped me to my feet.
As he shifted his stance, I realized he was about to take action.
I stopped him, saying, "It's fine; I'm not hurt. She's just so pitiful."
Under my persuasion, Mu Xuanche finally stopped.
Chen Jiang, as the leader of this mission, first examined the pair of legs left on the ground before announcing the results to us.
"It seems they were severed by a sharp weapon, which means the murderer is among us. Everyone who wasn't in the meeting just now is a suspect."
I had been present at the meeting, so I thought I was in the clear. But then I realized something unsettling.
I was there, but Mu Xuanche was not.
Could he be suspected?
