Everyone at the scene was shocked by Shangguan Mingyue's words, their eyes wide open, faces filled with disbelief and horror.
Shangguan Mingyue rushed forward and grabbed Zhou Ziqing's mother, looking like a Menacing Brute, which frightened Zhou Ziqing's mother so much that her legs went weak, nearly collapsing to the ground.
I watched from the side, not stepping in to stop it. This bun came from the Zhou Family, so it was naturally related to them.
Feeling a tug on my clothes, I looked down to see that the ghost, which had been hiding under the cabinet, was now gone. I felt a pang of anxiety but couldn't leave this scene unfolding before me.
"What on earth is going on? You really have some nerve to eat human meat buns," Shangguan Mingyue said, gripping Zhou Ziqing's mother as if she were about to skin her alive.
Zhou Ziqing's mother trembled like a leaf, tears streaming down her face, nearly unable to speak through her sobs.

Zhou Ziqing, seeing her mother like this, felt a pang of sympathy and cautiously approached, placing her hand on Shangguan Mingyue's shoulder.

A hint of uncertainty crossed Shangguan Mingyue's face, but she still held onto Madam Zhou tightly. I knew I had to keep fanning the flames of reason.
"Let go of her, Mingyue. Ask clearly what’s going on here."
I shot her a glance, and Shangguan Mingyue shook off the person beside her.
Madam Zhou collapsed directly onto the floor, while Zhou Ziqing hurried over to check on her. The two of them embraced each other in pain.
I pulled Shangguan Mingyue away from the living room and whispered to her, "Are you still angry?"
"I'm not done yet! I'm so furious; people these days are scarier than ghosts."
I patted Shangguan Mingyue's shoulder to comfort her. "Alright, calm down. I just saw that baby; it must be the owner of that meat."
"You mean the filling in this bun is not only human flesh but also that of a baby?"
Shangguan Mingyue was clearly startled, gripping my hand tightly.
"Let go quickly; my hand is going to swell!"
After I frantically slapped her arm, she finally released me, but her expression turned cold as she headed toward the kitchen.
Seeing her demeanor, I stopped her. "What are you planning to do?"
Shangguan Mingyue rolled up her sleeves, looking fierce. "Damn it, I'm going in there to beat someone up and vent my anger."
"Calm down; it's not that simple. What if the baby and Gu Baor are working together to mess with Boss Zhou? Otherwise, how could Boss Zhou's belly be so big?"

A loud roar came from upstairs—Boss Zhou's voice echoed through the house. Forgetting everything else, Shangguan Mingyue and I dashed up the stairs.

Boss Zhou stood straight, his eyes vacant but a strange smile twisted on his lips. As he watched me in pain, he grinned in a way that sent chills down my spine.

His laughter was particularly unpleasant, sounding more like a crow than a human voice.

A powerful heartbeat filled the room, emanating from Boss Zhou's belly.
"This is bad..."

A red light pulsed from his large belly, thumping rhythmically as if a heart were beating outside his body.

Gu Baor took the opportunity to join in, and Shangguan Mingyue was responsible for dealing with her.

Boss Zhou let out a heart-wrenching scream as white smoke began to billow from his stomach. He rolled on the ground in agony, clearly suffering immensely.
For the moment, I couldn't focus on Boss Zhou; I quickly got back up to save Shangguan Mingyue.
Seeing me rush over, Gu Baor threw Shangguan Mingyue aside and turned her attention to me.

I raised Shiro and charged at Gu Baor, intent on eliminating her.

I grabbed a nearby wooden chair to block the attacks, managing to deflect only some of them. My body was still struck in several places, causing me to wince in pain.
That damned Demoness was driving me crazy.
I silently cursed in my heart while my mind raced for a solution.
I couldn't afford to let go of my hands to perform any incantations; Gu Baor had already figured me out. She was determined not to let me have a moment of respite.
If I put down the chair to cast a spell, who knows whether a knife or something else would come flying at me in the next moment?
Things kept flying toward me, and even Li Kui, whom I was shielding, was caught in the chaos.
The situation was urgent. I wanted to smash Gu Baor with the chair first, then take advantage of her moment of distraction to immobilize her with a spell.
