"Kyouko, this is your destiny. Do not resent your father; he had no choice," said a middle-aged woman who was styling Takeda Kyoko's hair. She noticed her daughter's pale face reflected in the mirror and sighed deeply.
This woman was Takeda's Mother. In the society of the Island Nation, women held a low status, especially within such a large family.
"Mother, I won't blame anyone. Please don't worry; I understand Father's decision," Takeda Kyoko replied, tears streaming down her face despite her efforts to hold them back.
"Kyouko, it's your mother who has wronged you," her mother said, unable to contain her own tears upon seeing her daughter cry.
A daughter’s marriage, even to someone she loves, brings tears to a mother's eyes. How much more so for Takeda Kyoko, who was marrying someone who hardly qualified as human? Takeda's Mother felt more pain than anyone else; she had essentially pushed her daughter into the abyss.
Suddenly, thunder rumbled outside, and a fierce wind howled.
"What’s happening? Is it going to rain? Didn't the weather forecast say it would be nice tonight? How did it change so suddenly?" Takeda's Mother looked out the window, growing increasingly anxious.
Takeda Kyoko felt a flicker of hope and suggested, "Why don’t we postpone the wedding?"
She truly did not want to marry that man and was momentarily thrilled by the change in weather.
"Don’t think about it. No matter what the weather is like tonight, the wedding will proceed as planned," Takeda's Mother insisted. This wedding was not something the Takeda Family could decide on their own.
"Madam! Miss! It's terrible!" Suddenly, a young maid burst through the wooden door, panic written all over her face.
"What is it?" Takeda Kyoko asked.
"Madam! Miss! A Huaxia person has come outside! That Huaxia person just killed Young Master!" the maid gasped for breath.
"What?" Upon hearing this, both Takeda Kyoko and her mother turned pale, dropping the comb they were holding.
"How could this happen? How dare that Huaxia person come to our Takeda Family and commit murder?" Takeda's Mother said in a low voice.
"Madam, that Huaxia person seems to be the young man Miss mentioned. He claimed he killed Master Ishii Ansei and Master Yasuo Hara," the maid explained.
At this revelation, Takeda Kyoko stood up abruptly. Her hair was still half-styled; as she moved, her long hair fell down like a waterfall.
Without another word, she rushed outside. The strong wind whipped around her as she ran in her vibrant kimono, its sleeves and hem swirling wildly like a colorful flower dancing in the storm.
Takeda's Mother hurried after her daughter. Takeda Kyoko ran frantically; she needed to stop her father from confronting Jiang Chen at all costs.
On the grass, Takeda Dairo stood there dumbfounded. He never expected Jiang Chen to possess such formidable strength.
"At the moment of heavy rain, it will be the time when your Takeda Family members are killed one by one." A cold glint suddenly shot from Jiang Chen's eyes.
Jiang Chen's patience had completely run out. As his words fell, droplets of water began to drift through the air.
The faces of the Takeda Family members changed dramatically; they could no longer underestimate Jiang Chen. His level of strength was truly terrifying.
"Clan Leader, what should we do?" The members of the Takeda Family, fearing for their lives, looked towards Takeda Dairo, hoping he would make a rational decision.
