"Has something happened here before?" 0

"Why do you think that? What is your basis?" Another person followed up, this time it was Relock. 0

"I saw many exaggerated footprints on the ground, and they were quite clear. There’s no wind blowing in here, so everything is naturally preserved perfectly. These strange footprints are densely packed, as if someone walked in from outside but left no traces of having come out. This alone is enough to highlight the seriousness of the situation," Parker continued. 0

"I noticed the exaggerated footprints earlier too. Perhaps there’s a path on the other side. They might have gone in but not come out because there could be another exit directly leading outside. So they wouldn’t risk retracing their steps. After all, when that guidebook was written, it was based on what the predecessors encountered after triggering mechanisms. However, it seems they returned the same way, so some situations are beyond what’s documented. Our current predicament likely relates to this point. When Commander explained the guide series, I was listening for a while too. What’s happening now wasn’t mentioned in the story; perhaps this is a situation that the predecessors never faced. We must be cautious," Relock said. 0

"The story is like reading a book. Since you’ve listened to it all, Relock, how much do you remember?" Parker Parkinson looked at him with a hint of skepticism, his pupils reflecting a trace of disdain, clearly not trusting him. 0

"I remember everything. If I were to recite it all to you, would you be willing to listen?" Relock asked. 0

"I don’t believe you can recite the entire story," Parker Parkinson shook his head vigorously, clearly showing his distrust. 0

"Don’t believe me?" Relock raised an eyebrow and continued, "Alright then, let me start explaining the entire series to you. I believe you’ll find it quite interesting; how does that sound?" He paused for a moment, noticing Parker's indifferent expression as if granting permission, then took a deep breath and said, "Since silence means consent, let’s begin." 0

"Ahhh! Please don’t! I get it; I know how impressive you are! Truly worthy of being sent by Commander to torment me! Why is my luck so bad with you around?" Parker Parkinson suddenly jumped up like an agitated monkey. 0

"You see my prowess now? If I weren’t by your side, perhaps we would have met our end here. Actually, I’ve already thought of a solution; guess what it is." Relock immediately chimed in, the atmosphere feeling icy to the core. He was even playing coy now; wasn’t he supposed to be just a loyal assistant to Commander, doing whatever he was told? 0

But this sudden change was truly unexpected; no one could have anticipated such a thought from him. Humans are indeed fickle creatures; although women tend to change more often, sometimes men can turn on a dime even faster than flipping a page in a book. This person's thoughts were far more profound than imagined. 0

"Have you thought of any good ideas? Can we get through this smoothly?" Parker asked cautiously. 0

"Maybe, but it's not that simple. You'll have to pay a price," Relock said with a smile, feeling a bit awkward inside. 0

"Just as I thought. So what kind of price is it? You’re not planning to throw me into the tiger's den, are you? I'd rather stay here," Parker replied, increasingly resistant to the idea. After all, whoever sold him out would make him feel bound against his will, and it was understandable to resist. 0

"It's not a big price, don't worry. We won't really throw you into the jaws of a tiger. You're an indispensable soul of our team," Relock assured him. 0

"Pfft—soul of the team!" Parker chuckled. "I think being called a soul of the team is a bit much. Can you not exaggerate my image like that?" He touched his reddening face and laughed. 0

"That's a compliment! It's sad that you don't even realize it," the other person said without thinking, feeling a bit embarrassed. However, he was very clear about his thoughts; others couldn't hear them, so there was nothing to be done about it. "Alright, let's go. Staying here any longer would be pointless. Let's move forward and see what we can do." 0

"Uh, what exactly do you want me to do?" 0

Parker hurriedly followed as they both moved ahead. 0

"What do you mean? You'll find out once you get there," the other person said casually, but in his heart, he made a note of it. There was nothing wrong with his thoughts; it was just that Relock was such a cunning person. 0

"What do you mean by 'you'll find out when you get there'?" Parker's expression was quite strange, and there was even a hint of bitter laughter at the corner of his mouth. 0

The two continued deeper into the misty tunnel they had been in earlier. They walked around the perimeter again; on the surface, everything seemed fine. However, as soon as they ventured deeper, the mist would automatically engulf them and teleport them back to where they started. 0

"See? This mist is actually a teleportation array. As long as this formation exists here, we can't get out. What we need to do is either destroy it or interfere with it without destroying it or drive it away. That's all we have to do," Relock explained. 0

"So what does that have to do with me?" 0

Parker probably still doesn't fully understand what his character design is; after all, his Gene Endowment is none other than Solar Fire. 0

Wherever there is light, darkness must also exist. Strong light can dispel darkness, so when his ability reaches a certain level, only then can the darkness be completely cleared away by the radiance. 0

The Dark Mist requires light to nourish it before it can disperse on its own. It might take some time for it to recover spontaneously, similar to its formation. There are no special facilities involved; fundamentally, it is just a Transmission Array. Although it cannot be destroyed, it can be temporarily rendered invisible, allowing them to pass through to the other side. 0

"You can't possibly expect me to use that formless Solar Fire gene to counter this darkness, right? That's absurd! I can't even control it myself, and you have no idea if trying to repel this darkness will trigger some other event. Think again—are there any other methods?" Parker continued to question. 0

"For now, there are no other options. Even if we're facing a biochemical army on the other side, as long as we get in there, it's not a guaranteed death sentence; there's still a chance of survival. This kind of probability is certainly better than being trapped in this place," Relock slowly replied, perhaps unaccustomed to such discussions, causing his lips to twitch slightly. 0
