Perhaps many people have never witnessed a situation like this. The sound of breaking the Sonic Barrier was numerous, with some fading into the air, yet the sound waves still transmitted through. It seemed that these Airships were intended to support the distant war.
The arrival of reinforcements instantly revitalized Nipoguan, providing a temporary respite for the Injured, allowing them to be sent to the rear for recuperation. Several leaders from various associations and the Star Marshal of the Human Alliance entered the Command Tent one after another, observing the battle over thirty kilometers away through Military Satellites.
One could describe the swarm of insects as imposing; it was unclear whether this had been a long-planned strategy or merely instinct. Why would they launch an attack on human cities? After all, there was a seabed nearby that served as their refuge, known as Absolute Condemnation. Insects should not be capable of crossing oceans; they lacked safe lungs and pressure-resistant equipment. Even if they managed to submerge in the ocean, they would drown. However, even with such equipment, it was not guaranteed they could successfully traverse the ocean, as the Turbulent Waves could easily reduce them to pulp.
Their gathering was entirely unexpected. The Military Satellites of humanity had all malfunctioned; either they failed to detect their movements or were unable to track them at all. What kind of ability allowed them to evade surveillance? These satellites were in the Atmosphere; surely they couldn't have approached using traditional methods?
Tools capable of penetrating the Atmosphere existed, but even if some insects had that ability, entering space meant stepping into an entirely new world. There, in a vacuum, their blood might freeze, and what appeared to be sturdy Armor would crumple into a ball. Upon returning to the Underground World, they would be crushed by internal pressure due to atmospheric differences, ultimately leading to their demise.
Thus, the astronauts currently on the space station, despite controlling their sight, found themselves unable to return to Earth. They primarily struggled to adapt to Earth's atmospheric pressure; even surviving upon returning to the surface would be miraculous. For this reason, seeing them don astronaut suits on Earth would seem quite strange.
However, the space station had developed a Gravity System, and it was believed that soon they would be immune to pressure-related injuries and could return to the Earth that nurtured them.
At this point, just as they were about to accompany the Commander of the Division-Level Hunter Team upstairs—a man who seemed oblivious—an icy voice called out from behind, "You are Freyr? That's right; I remember you." A cold figure approached. At this moment, the smiling Lutian stepped forward and positioned Freyr behind him, clearly wary of this man before them.
It wasn't just them; it appeared there were lingering grudges between them. This cold man was named Engels Feit, who was also the vice-captain of the Division-Level Hunter Team. Their teams happened to be in close proximity when he spotted Freyr and rushed over for confirmation. Consequently, the Commander of that team instinctively sensed trouble and hurried over.
"Don't be afraid of trouble, Lutian. What do you want? We're just here to greet an old friend; remember last time? You should extend your regards," said a person who seemed quite articulate and looked like a cool handsome guy.
The rest of Team members rushed over quickly. Lutian glanced at the situation and said, "What do you want? Are we going to fight? Do we really need infighting at a time like this? Kroya, you're not doing much better as Commander."
At that moment, a woman stepped out from the team, displaying an uncomfortable demeanor.
The troops of Kroya stood before the Star Hunter Team, unable to compare in status to the Imperial-Level Hunter Team and their group of Old Guys. The remaining members held a position that could be considered the best among most teams. Lutian glanced at his Commander, who, aside from being slightly more straightforward than Kroya, had a noticeable gap in strength. Lutian had been striving to maintain control of the team; otherwise, he could easily replace this Commander and establish a team of his own liking.
There was no need to endure so much. Kroya stepped forward, snorted, and glanced back at him before continuing, "Can we hurry up? If there's something to do, let's get on with it. If he doesn't want to cooperate, that's fine; he has his own matters to attend to."
"Oh? Right," Fetter nodded. He then turned to Freyr beside him and added, "Thanks to your help during our last mission, I managed to survive. Now it's time for me to express my gratitude. By the way, I heard you got involved in another mission and underwent significant surgery. Have you forgotten about me now?"
"Mm~" Freyr nodded slightly. "You're not wrong; aside from some distant memories, I've mostly forgotten everything else. I even forgot who you all were at one point. Thankfully, I remembered my family later on. But I think I'll recall more in the future. You don't need to worry about my opinions; just focus on what needs to be done now. We are comrades now; we shouldn't act like enemies. Shouldn't we have each other's backs on the battlefield?"
"Hmph, saved by a ghost, huh? Kroya," Gordon Yan scoffed as he walked toward the Tower.
"Let's put this matter aside for now. We'll settle the grievances between our two teams later; first, we need to resolve this incident," Lutian stated.
"Since you've said that, I suppose it must be so. But you, Lutian, when will you join our team? I have a good position waiting for you. Your constant refusal is quite nauseating. Your Commander is truly disappointing—like a piece of mud that can't be propped up. Joining my team would give you more opportunities; what do you say?" Kroya laughed.
"Thanks, but no thanks. You're a crafty fellow; even your own people seem enchanted by you without realizing how many members you've lost along the way. Those deaths are a result of your failures as a leader, aren't they? You really make me feel sick with your pretentiousness. Enough talk; my teammates are waiting for me," Lutian replied before turning and leading his team upstairs.
Freyr glanced at Fetter and instinctively pondered for a moment but still couldn't quite remember him; however, that face seemed somewhat familiar.
But he didn't push himself to think harder about it since he had previously recalled memories of his family through deep hypnosis.
There were no psychologists here capable of deep hypnosis; clearly, traditional methods wouldn't work for recovering memories.
He bowed slightly, at least out of respect for Fetter as a senior member, giving him enough courtesy. "They are my mentors now; I have no other choice but to follow them upstairs. If there's an opportunity later on, I might ask you what kind of person I used to be. Thank you for remembering me, senior; I need to get back to work."
