The Beautiful Lady observed the situation inside the ambulance and immediately turned to the doctor beside her, saying, "Make sure to drive steadily on the way. He just received anesthesia, and we shouldn't stimulate him with any other medications. I'm worried that too much medication could damage his nerves. Once they reach the Major Hospital, they must undergo proper recovery; ideally, we should ensure a month of healing."
After saying this, the Beautiful Lady turned and walked into the building.
The doctors understood how to provide treatment; however, they felt embarrassed that someone seemed to know more than they did. Under normal circumstances, these doctors would confidently share their medical experiences and would be thorough even when dealing with terminal patients. Moreover, the two individuals being transported in the ambulance were not in life-threatening situations.
Although they were doctors, they recognized that recovery involved specialized knowledge about health. They were not professional recovery specialists; there were dedicated doctors in the hospital who focused on rehabilitation. After ensuring the ambulance doors were closed properly, they proceeded to drive as they usually would.
The Beautiful Lady returned to the building, but at that moment, three people stood before her, all wearing expressions that were more forced than genuine as they watched the ambulance gradually disappear from view.
"The meeting has concluded. Hilbert will remain in power. However, this isn't necessarily a bad thing; it's just that the longer someone sits in the President's position, the more bad habits they tend to develop. We will keep a close eye on his every move. If he makes any missteps, we shouldn't let him off easily," said a young man while gesturing. The two others beside him hurriedly took notes with their heads down.
"Your comments during the meeting were too intense. Conversely, you didn't corner Hilbert into a difficult position; it was your excessive attitude that harmed yourselves. Thus, even before it began, you had already declared this meeting over. This reflects issues within your character. I hope you can confront your shortcomings honestly. I will conduct practical evaluations of you moving forward and provide timely feedback. I hope you can improve over time because next time will be when Hilbert loses to us. When that moment comes, I guarantee it with my credibility; you must believe in yourselves as well," said the young man while the two accompanying him nodded earnestly like students.
However, their ages did not match their demeanor; both were middle-aged men. If anyone nearby had seen them, they might have thought the young man was being arrogant. Yet no one expected someone so young to speak so coherently and convincingly to these stubborn old men—something not everyone could achieve.
Thus, these individuals were quite willing to follow his lead.
After their conversation, the Executive Government temporarily withdrew, and the ambulance promptly transported the injured patients to Major Hospital. The therapists and Health Practitioners at Major Hospital gathered to look at the two individuals covered by glass barriers in Warm Beds.
"After scanning, we found no damage to their bones and no hair loss due to radiation burns. Therefore, we have determined it is a high level of radiation injury. Seventy percent has already been cleared. Come over and see what methods we can use to treat them so they can return to normal lives," said several Attending Physicians standing at the front while younger nurses watched from behind. Although there was no formal hierarchy among them, there was an unwritten rule of seniority; thus, those standing at the front were medical representatives who had made contributions in their field while those behind them either lacked qualifications or had less expertise.
It was indeed the head doctor of Radiology who quickly identified the cause of Injury and then delicately explained the issue while leaving a topic for discussion among the other doctors nearby.
In private, this doctor was an authority, but he could be difficult to deal with at times. Thus, during such moments, no one dared to speak, as silence was often the better option.
The head doctor’s gaze suddenly sharpened. "Ah, it seems no one knows yet. It should be this way at times like these."
The other doctors nodded in agreement, indicating they didn’t want to say much; after all, anything they said could be wrong, and as long as they remained silent, they wouldn’t make mistakes.
After the doctors finished their discussion, the others escorted the two patients to the intensive care unit for monitoring. Although radiation was not contagious, it still posed certain dangers, so it was better to keep a close watch on them and provide therapy. The following days were incredibly torturous for the patients; the hospital provided only a limited diet consisting of porridge or liquid foods. This was primarily due to the severity of their radiation burns—spicy foods would only irritate their bodies further and provoke allergic reactions.
The hospital staff had to finish their ongoing tasks and whenever they had a moment, they returned to the intensive care unit to observe the patients’ conditions and take notes.
After undergoing various mechanical detoxifications, their condition improved significantly over the week. However, alongside detoxification, they had to manage a variety of medications. Just the pills alone filled their hands. Yet, they couldn’t defy the doctors' orders; they had to obediently take their medicine to help their bodies recover as much as possible. Gradually, their lives revolved around taking medication, and before long, a month had passed.
The door opened, and many people hurried into the hospital, greeted by the hospital director at the entrance.
The director immediately responded, "Respected Mr. Hilbert, what brings you to our hospital? I wasn’t aware you would be coming, so I didn’t have many people here to welcome you."
Hilbert waved his hand dismissively and explained, "I’m not here for flattery. There aren’t many people here; it seems my timing is just right. You don’t need to make such a fuss. My sole purpose for coming is to check on those who were brought into the hospital. They are members of my association, and I must ensure their safety."
"Oh? That’s good to hear. Let me find someone to inquire about them; please have a seat." The director then turned and left.
Before long, he returned with a stout man who was also a doctor but rather unattractive.
"Hello, this is our radiology treatment physician. He will update you on those patients," the director said with a smile. Hilbert nodded in acknowledgment as the physician promptly led him into the examination room.
It was an ordinary room, except that there was no one inside at the moment.
Then, they saw through the Glass Wall of the room that two people were sitting inside, undergoing surgery. It was the kind of wall where those inside couldn't see outside, but those outside could see in.
Therefore, the people inside would only think that the glass was simply a mirror, without any suspicion at all.
