Freyr's mood suddenly became heavy. 0

Firstly, the time dragged on, and he truly felt like a burden in the eyes of others. At this moment, he hung his head in dejection. Ever since he learned that this situation would persist for a while longer, his spirits had plummeted to rock bottom. 0

Suddenly, a blinding light shot up from the night sky. Especially against the backdrop of the pitch-black night, the signal flare stood out starkly. This dazzling orb descended from the heights and immediately exploded with scorching heat and a striking signal. 0

"Gather!" Good called out. 0

Looking at the brilliant burst of light, Freyr quickly recognized it as a special signal from the Hunter Association. 0

The association's gathering orders were not to be taken lightly. At this point, even if he was still in a state of halted training, he had to drop everything and rush to support. Freyr gathered his belongings onto his back and turned to look at Good, who was walking towards him slowly. "Why don't you stay back for now? Wait until your abilities recover before coming over. I'll head back to support." 0

"I can still go," Good replied, his expression shifting slightly. "You don't need to worry about me; I can handle it. Just make sure to keep up closely behind me and don’t get lost." 0

With that said, Good didn’t carry any heavy items. His face was chiseled with determination, and his demeanor was resolute. He waved his hand and dashed off like a shot. 0

Freyr stood there momentarily stunned, realizing that Good's seriousness was genuine. Even though his strength hadn't fully returned, Good's overall quality still surpassed his own by a bit. 0

Leading the way ahead, Good surged forward. In just a moment of distraction, he had already created a significant distance between them. However, that gap was gradually closing; yet Good didn’t allow Freyr to catch up easily. Soon enough, both of them raced toward the defensive area in front of the Giant Hive. 0

At the Giant Hive, Gatling Guns roared as thin spiders screeched intermittently from all directions. 0

Stationed there were Sergeant Major and Menech, who eagerly directed the soldiers around them to infiltrate the gaps in all directions. Although the current situation wasn’t critical, the combined fighting strength of the soldiers and hunters was still formidable. Injured soldiers were quickly carried away while reserves waited to replace them. 0

Even when it came to corpses, humanity had no intention of leaving any behind for the ugly insects. The firepower on defense grew increasingly fierce; before the Zerg could even approach the perimeter, they were already being blasted apart. However, among the spiders that had reached a certain age, many had developed hard armor. The Gatling Guns needed to fire at densely packed areas to maintain stability in their overall strategy; thus, they couldn’t be used for precise targeting. 0

Menechdar was the first to charge ahead. Despite being over seventy years old, he exuded a fierceness that surpassed many younger hunters. Calmly, he said, "Follow me and don't let a single one escape." 0

"Understood!" 0

Medusa responded, conjuring a shield shaped like a beautiful face, positioning herself in the center of the formation. 0

The team led by Medusa consisted mostly of seasoned hunters, as only such individuals were unafraid of death. Slaying the Zerg would bring them profit, and the score would lead to a better life. The ten-member team formed a circle, with Medusa's shield generating a massive light barrier. The acidic spray from the spiders first struck against the light shield. 0

Among the other members of the team, a middle-aged man excitedly clenched his fists, his aura pulsating at his fingertips. Then, energy bullets erupted from him, striking a wide area. If any spider was hit by even one of these bullets, it would be as if it had been shot by a sniper rifle, creating a large hole in its body. 0

The hunters included several with special abilities, as well as those skilled in close combat wielding large blades. This latter group targeted enemies deemed particularly troublesome. Although the energy bullets possessed significant lethality, once the spiders grew hard armor, their defensive capabilities would increase, rendering the bullets less effective; they merely supplemented the team's firepower. 0

"Don't retreat! These Zerg creatures are too complacent. Those with bloodlust, follow me! I’ve noticed that the larger spiders are the leaders. If we kill these spiders, the others will lose their sense of direction. Anyone who shows fear and retreats will be turned to stone." Medusa spoke naturally; her shield had a terrifying effect on enemies. However, unfortunately for them, this time the confronting spiders had poor visibility, and Medusa's shield did not manage to turn them all to stone. For now, it served only as a defensive wall. 0

The battle raged on from all directions as Freyr returned to the military district. 0

At this moment, there was not a soul in or around the tents. Outside, the soldiers were particularly anxious, rushing about everywhere. The roles of conscripts and support personnel in the army were limited to delivering supplies and transporting injured soldiers; even they had no time to catch their breath. 0

The incident occurred suddenly; war erupted with an unexpected nighttime ambush. Soldiers on patrol were swiftly engulfed by spiders. The sound of gunfire awakened the sleeping Military Department. Fortunately, Ramiel's authority managed to stabilize what was nearly an uncontrollable situation. 0

After seven days of relative peace without any conflict, an unexpected surge in spider numbers occurred during this sudden crisis. Spiders poured in from all directions—thousands of them. 0

The young spiders were already as tall as adults; while their melee capabilities were still developing, their ability to spray white liquid was quite advanced. This highly corrosive liquid could dissolve bones. Death among soldiers during this war was inevitable; despite the protection offered by both major associations, they barely managed to avert disaster. 0

Regarding the Mecha Association, they dispatched no fewer than thirty elite Mecha Masters here. The power of Sparrow Missiles extended for two kilometers. 0

Despite being able to withstand the bombardment of the Sparrow Missiles, the consequences of being hit were still deadly. The young spiders, perhaps just hatched, would surely perish in the onslaught. 0

However, this did not deter the spiders. It was unclear what they were thinking at that moment, but each one appeared frantic, eager to breach the military camp before them and seize what they perceived as delicious prey. Even though some would meet their end in the flames, their overall direction remained unchanged. 0

The soldiers resisting and the hunters fought desperately, surrounded on all sides. The effect of the Sparrow Missiles was only significant in the initial stages; for those juvenile spiders hiding in the crevices of the earth, the missiles could only create large craters without penetrating deeper. The juvenile spiders that managed to evade continued to advance. 0

"Don't let your guard down! Face the enemy seriously!" shouted Ramel Sergeant Major. 0

"Good! It's been a while since I've had such a good fight. Let me send you all off; kill them! I don't care if I live or die; they must die here today," Menechdar declared. At that moment, a young man leaped out beside him, his blue blade flashing as he stepped forward and cleaved a charging larva in two. 0

After dispatching the creature, the young man quickly turned back and bowed slightly. "My lord, take care of yourself! If anything happens to you, we won't be able to face anyone." 0

"Is it that old hag who sent you to keep an eye on me? Are you from the Assassin Association? Don't worry about me; I'm fine. Heh, this is interesting; now three professions are all crammed together." 0

The young man wore a black mask and tight-fitting black clothes, not daring to slack off. With a long two-inch Cold Iron Katana, he coldly sliced through the larva's body. 0

This did not shock Menechdar; rather, he became so excited that he momentarily forgot his age. Just as he was about to leap out and engage in battle with the insects, he was stopped. 0

"Get up there! Hold your ground! One-Star Hunters, where are your teams? Defense and offense—don't forget why you're here!" Menechdar regained his composure and continued directing the military forces. The young assassin beside him filled in the gap, cutting down every invading insect with precision. 0
