Freyr gazed at the wrinkled mass glowing with green light, estimating where its vulnerabilities might lie. He propelled himself forward a short distance, only to collide with a hard substance. The heat weapons he had previously used were rendered ineffective against this barrier, suggesting that it was a form of technology beyond human reach or perhaps a special ability. 0

Special abilities were not uncommon among humans; several Gene Warriors could be selected from their ranks, each possessing various unique powers. Some of these abilities were the result of genetic evolution, leading past generations to believe that future humans would no longer need to learn deliberately. Instead, each person's brain would function like a scanner and storage device. 0

In this apocalyptic era, technology had largely been realized, albeit only in part. After all, these capabilities were only manifested in a select few individuals, specifically the Gene Warriors who had received assistance from Gene Pills, making them quite valuable. However, they also had to bear the risk of uncontrollable side effects that could lead to exhaustion and death. 0

He looked up at the sky, his face pale with fear. The green glowing folds loomed larger than he could have anticipated; even from a distance, it appeared to stretch over several kilometers in length, width, and height—an endless expanse. If it were to fall directly to Earth, it would unleash a catastrophic biological disaster. 0

Moreover, there was no technology capable of halting its movement. Yet, its behavior was peculiar; it floated serenely in the sky, resembling a green moon hanging far above, while numerous mechs stood down like stars in its presence. 0

Whether it remained still or prepared to attack, Freyr understood that upon reaching this biological level, it would inevitably release an overwhelming pressure after awakening. If they did not strike first, they risked being annihilated. A sense of dread washed over him as he envisioned the mechs forming a battle line in an oval formation. 0

Plasma Beam Cannons and Nuclear Reaction Split Sky Cannons had been tried before; during their last attempt, these heat weapons capable of destroying a kilometer-sized meteor had proven futile. 0

However, even so, they could not simply wait for death. 0

"Noah, calculate the distance. I need structural statistics on that barrier." 0

A military chip was embedded in Freyr's neural hub, allowing him to connect with the headquarters' supercomputer—a unique Thinking supercomputer. 0

Perhaps he could directly control satellites to strike down the meteor. However, upon detection, the meteor codenamed " Heart of Zerg " had already descended upon Noah's Sanctuary's city skyline; satellites could not scan it nor could they strike it down violently. 0

Its density was not that of foam; the shockwave's power was a hundred times that of nuclear weapons. At this moment, mobilizing firepower to shoot it down would be suicidal. Even if they managed to eliminate the Zerg, the remaining humans would struggle to emerge from a millennium of icy desolation—the ancient glacial era belonging to ice. 0

Without a reckless heart, no one would dare engage in such self-destructive contact without considering the consequences. 0

After waiting for a moment, the Virtual Screen inside his helmet responded. The computer established direct contact with his helmet as a three-dimensional figure appeared on the visor. A stream of characters flowed out—summaries of text designed for easy memorization—as Noah read them aloud while the visuals evolved through various stages. 0

Freyr hesitated for a moment before exclaiming in shock: "This is impossible! Dark matter? Its hardness is tens of thousands of times that of calcium! No wonder traditional heat weapons are ineffective; nuclear weapons may not produce any direct results either." 0

"Don't rush to answer. The development of the Battle Armor and the birth of this Biological Armor both stem from the visit of a meteorite over a decade ago. At that time, scientists undertook excavation and refinement. Now that I've unlocked the permissions, I've discovered something very strange: the composition of the Battle Armor contains a large amount of dark matter, with a similarity rate reaching 87,645%." 0

"In other words, to break through this layer of material, I still need to trigger the implantation to have a chance at penetrating this defense, right, Noah?" 0

"Uh, we're still researching it. The probability of breaking through is less than ten percent. This wall can even directly immunize against Nuclear Weapons. Such a level of biology might only appear after tens of thousands of years with nuclear weapons. Our technology was never on the same starting line; they have already occupied Earth and treat this place as their paradise." 0

"Well, I don't want to hear nonsense. Who helped you create this anthropomorphic Thinking? It's really troublesome. I just want to know the solution. Is there any chance I can break through with the acceleration needed to surpass the Sonic Barrier?" 0

"Currently, that's not possible. However, if we cool it down to absolute zero, that part will enter a state of local paralysis. Concentrating our attacks on it will increase the probability of collapse by 119%, but it's still less than 15%. You would also have to bear an 85% risk of unpredictable outcomes." 0

"So there's a high chance I could die? Got it. This computer really brings me bad news." 0

"Hehehe, my hero, consider it good news! Being able to chat with me for so long makes you the first person in all these years." 0

"The Zerg is an intelligent species. I knew it wouldn't be that easy using this method." 0

In the same room, those who overheard this conversation felt a chill run down their spines. 0

Absolute zero is nearly impossible to achieve; even Dry Ice reaches only a minimum temperature of negative 78 degrees Celsius. 0

However, even if there were no other options, once the green light in the folds fully awakens, a catastrophic scenario of total biological extinction would soon become reality. More than ten mechs began allocating energy, and moments later, the mechs powered by Nuclear Reactors turned their backs. 0

These types of mechs would have been obsolete in earlier times; however, during wartime, the only advantage of Nuclear Reactor-powered mechs was that they could explode once when unable to influence the war's situation. Even if their yield couldn't destroy an entire city, they could instantly obliterate incoming meteorites. 0

A mech powered by a nuclear source requires an enormous amount of energy. The nuclear source obtains massive energy through Scorching to enable rapid movement capabilities. Therefore, if the nuclear source loses its operational capacity, such mechs become utterly useless. For this reason, new models have been improved to be driven by more environmentally friendly Ion Source Furnaces. 0

To prevent deviations in nuclear source operations, some components need to stop loading and be equipped with Dry Ice Containers. Dry Ice serves as low-temperature storage to suppress excessive temperature leakage. 0

As the Nuclear Reactor-powered mech turned its back, its fuel pipelines were exposed, releasing bursts of cold white vapor that sprayed onto the hard dark matter wall in localized areas. 0

However, soon the room was filled not with good news, but with the dangerous alarm from a group of people inside the safety pod. 0

"Danger, danger! The stove is overheating and requires immediate cooling!" The mechanical voice showed no signs of stopping. 0

"A true warrior dies on the battlefield, wrapped in horsehide. This is the fate of a soldier." 0

"That's right. If we're going to do it, let's do it, Commander. We will pave the way for you." 0

Freyr was already hovering a few kilometers away at the edge, his eyes filled with sorrow. 0

Freyr had witnessed too much sadness in his life, and he was about to undertake a monumental task that would shake the world—saving the fate of a whole race. 0

Looking at the crumbling Noah's Sanctuary, several desperate humans slowly crawled out from the damaged city within. They raised their heads blankly towards the sky; the enormous light screen covering the city above was truly bizarre. But soon, these individuals were astonished to discover another chaotic current sweeping by, a barely discernible black light darting through. 0

It quickly reached the edge of the Sonic Barrier. 0

"Life signs are declining. Life signs are declining." 0

Just as this synthesized mechanical voice was about to continue, it was abruptly cut off by personnel controlling the implants on the other end. He sighed deeply and said regretfully, "I would rather die than endure that wretched thing again. I want to witness everything with my own eyes." 0

This time, his vision did not fail him; he bore witness to a miracle. 0

The hesitation was too swift; speed and centrifugal force concentrated their destructive power at a single point, piercing through the dark matter wall. 0

Freyr stepped into a realm of nothingness. He slowly opened his eyes; at that moment, he was suspended in mid-air, his implant severely damaged. This implant, known as Yata no Kagami, had accompanied him for over twenty years, witnessing both his glory and his final moments filled with great righteousness. 0

But when he opened his eyes and turned to look back, he saw that his implant had dragged out a massive airbag. Even so, he had sustained significant injuries; the external damage was severe, and his helmet had become merely a single line of connection. The visor glass shattered into pieces. 0

He raised his hand slightly but found he could muster no strength; the capillaries in that arm were twisted like a mass of worms, and the explosive pain began to cloud his consciousness. 0

He looked up as the sound of cannon fire echoed through the sky. Although he couldn't witness the cheers of his team at that moment, he could clearly hear the drivers shouting a single phrase in unison. 0

"This is all for the love and justice of the world!" 0

With a suppressed heart, he pulled the trigger. The nuclear reactors overheated and exploded into fragments, which fell like scorching chips to the ground. Most of the mechs were dragged into a massive biological fold, erupting in a chaotic burst of flames. 0

After several setbacks, hope finally emerged. 0

As the shattered light dissipated, the intact Heart of Zerg appeared before him, showing no signs of having been damaged at all. 0

"This is impossible!" Freyr exclaimed in shock as he witnessed everything. 0

The fold in the night sky spread out, radiating a dazzling green light. At that moment, it began to writhe and turned over, revealing a gigantic eyeball slowly opening. 0

Confronting the Heart of Zerg felt like being ensnared by an enchantment. Sure enough, as it receded into the distance, those with even a hint of awareness could resist its pull. The mechs hovering nearby did not use their weapons; even if one more person fired a Plasma Beam Cannon now, it wouldn't severely injure the eye but would at least diminish its intimidation. 0

"What are you all doing? Respond to me! Is anyone there?" 0

Freyr's desperate shouts were met only with crackling sounds inside his helmet. He couldn't tell if it was an electronic short circuit or noises coming from other mechs. 0

Seeing no effect, Freyr angrily removed his helmet and smashed it to the ground, stomping on it until it shattered. 0

" Heart of Zerg, your grandpa has arrived! Prepare to die!" 0

With a powerful push of his legs, he shot into the dark night sky like a brilliant comet. Though most of his external armor was damaged, his flight systems were still operational. 0

The single large eye spun around, and the mechs suspended in mid-air exploded one after another. 0

Seeing this, anger surged within Freyr. Without hesitation, he reached behind him and drew out a two-foot-long broad sword. 0

Although the injuries were severe and witnessing the annihilation of his subordinates left him no leisure to engage with it, he unleashed a series of clever blade techniques, reaching their peak. 0

It was in this moment that a shadowy figure emerged, and he had no idea he was flying into a dark abyss. 0

The single eye of the Heart of Zerg was quite sinister, spinning around as a swarm of black-winged, red-eyed moths dispersed from the folds below. 0

In the night sky, they resembled glowing red dots, swirling around a light source. One by one, the moths fell, and with each Bloodwing Moth that Freyr killed, a streak of blood appeared on his body. 0

Then, a horde of moths swiftly attacked. However, at this moment, he was more determined than ever. 0

Spinning Dance of Combat! 0

This technique required a surge of physical strength to be effective; once used, it would inevitably leave him exhausted and weakened. 0

Regardless, he fought with all his might. Though this approach was risky, he transformed into a rapid spin, drawing in the attacking moths and slaughtering them into a bloody pulp. 0

The swarm of moths charged at him relentlessly, and soon they became desperate souls under his assault. 0

In a fit of anger, Freyr canceled Spinning Dance of Combat and soared into the night sky, getting closer to the Heart of Zerg. 0

The Heart of Zerg's single eye spun again, and blood-colored tendrils emerged from the crevices below. 0

Long vines with red eyes looked eerie just to behold; hundreds or thousands of them twisted together into a writhing mass. 0

Freyr swung his blade, and part of the mass shattered into a mist of blood. However, the remaining tendrils glowed ominously as they spread outwards. 0

"Damn it." 0

"Bloodsucking Insect Vine!" 0

As the reaction set in, a wave of intoxicating numbness washed over him. His fingers lost all strength, and his weapon slipped from his grasp. In a daze, he vaguely witnessed the " Heart of Zerg," a bloodthirsty maw, lunging toward him. From its creased edges hung millions, even billions of tendrils—these were the parasitic creatures of the Zerg. 0

He swung his blade, issuing a warning to the Heart of Zerg. Gradually, as he floated in mid-air, the intoxication deepened in his mind. He realized that this time he had succumbed to poison; it was not merely the drunkenness of alcohol but rather a paralysis induced by toxins. The blood coursing through his veins was solidifying from the poison, turning into a toxic substance that flowed toward his brain. 0

Under normal circumstances, with his constitution, even if his body became toxic, it would not spell certain death. However, the brain was a vital center; once poisoned, even his Self-Healing Ability would struggle to exert its powerful effects. 0

Death was a release. He smiled as he recalled the image of his wife. 0

She had passed away when he was just twenty years old. Over the years of warfare, he had nearly forgotten about it. Living alone for so long in the military, most of his comrades shared similar experiences. Yet now, he truly faced death in solitude. 0

There were hardly any people left in the world. A massive sphere descended to the ground, and beneath its single eye, a gigantic claw pierced through the central nervous system, merging with the Earth itself. 0

A swarm of insects surged forth from the creases. 0

Su Qian—he recalled that unfamiliar name. 0

But soon after, his consciousness began to blur. 0
