Ding Jian shook his head desperately. "Mom, please don't say that." 0

"The doctor said there is still hope. As long as you cooperate with the treatment, you will definitely get better." 0

"Really?" A glimmer of hope ignited in his mother's eyes. 0

"Yes." Ding Jian nodded firmly. 0

"I believe you, Mom will definitely cooperate with the treatment." 0

Ding Jian stayed by his mother's side for three days and nights, losing weight in the process. Meanwhile, I took advantage of those three days to contact a lawyer to handle the divorce proceedings. 0

"I have found evidence proving that my mother-in-law is faking her illness." 0

"The three of them had already conspired to deceive me." 0

"I want a divorce. I want them to move out. From now on, we go our separate ways and never see each other again." 0

Ding Jian's eyes turned red, his emotions running high. "He Xing, can't you forgive me for the sake of our marriage?" 0

I scoffed. "Marriage? Did you think about our marriage when you and your family were plotting against me?" 0

"You just wanted to trick me into taking care of you, pouring my heart out for you." 0

"But I, He Xing, am not a fool. I won't be deceived by you anymore." 0

"Ding Jian, if you have any conscience at all, just hurry up and get divorced. Take your mom and sister and disappear from my sight." 0

Ding Jian broke down, shaking his head repeatedly. "No! I won't get divorced!" 0

"I would rather die than get divorced!" 0

I took out a recording device and played back the conversation between Ding Jian and his mother. 0

"Son, go tell He Xing that Mom has cancer; she will definitely agree." 0

"Mom, isn't that a bit wrong?" 0

"There's nothing wrong with it. As long as it keeps He Xing here..." 0

"Mom is willing to do anything, whether it's washing clothes, cooking, or having children." 0
"Alright then." 0
"Son, go tell He Xing that Mom has cancer. She will definitely agree." 0
"Mom, that's not good." 0
"There's nothing wrong with it. As long as it keeps He Xing here, Mom is willing to do anything." 0
"Alright then." 0
Ding Jian listened to this conversation and collapsed onto the ground. 0
"So you knew all along." 0
"You've been acting all this time." 0
I sneered, "It's you who have been acting. The three of you put on quite a show." 0
"You can't stand to see me live a good life, so you've gone to great lengths to trick me back into serving you." 0
"Unfortunately, I won't be fooled again." 0
"I've already signed the divorce agreement; the rest is up to you." 0
With that, I turned and walked away. 0
Ding Jian chased after me, crying like a child. 0
"Wife, I was wrong. Please give me another chance, okay?" 0
"I promise I'll listen to you from now on and won't associate with my mom and them anymore." 0
I stopped in my tracks and looked at him coldly. 0
"Ding Jian, I gave you a chance, but you didn't seize it." 0
"From now on, you are you, and I am me. We have no ties left." 0
I took out my phone and made a call. 0
Soon, a car stopped by the roadside. 0
I got in and drove away. 0
The lawyer had already drafted the divorce agreement for me. 0

According to the agreement, Ding Jian was to move out with his mother-in-law and Sister-in-law. The house and car belonged to me. Ding Jian could take away one-third of the savings. His mother would be cared for by him. Alimony was none of my concern. In the end, Ding Jian agreed to the divorce, but his expression was grim. 0

On the day we finalized the paperwork, he moved all his belongings out. Looking at the empty room, I couldn't quite express what I felt inside. After all, we had been married for three years; it was hard on both of us. Yet, I had no regrets. I had finally awakened. 0

My parents left me a substantial inheritance, enough to ensure my comfort for the rest of my life. I took out five hundred thousand and invested in a Bun Shop. I also registered an Angel Foundation specifically to provide startup funds for female college graduates who lacked money and connections. As long as they dared to dream and act, I was willing to invest. 0
