Mother-in-law truly began to take over our lives completely. Every morning at five o'clock, she would come knocking on the door. 0

"Xingxing, get up quickly and exercise with me for an hour." 0

After exercising, she would go home to have breakfast and then head to work. By nine in the evening, we had to be in bed. We weren't even allowed to look at our phones, as she claimed that the radiation would affect fertility. 0

I didn't care much about that. But Ding Jian's job required him to be online at all times. For the first couple of days, he managed to squeeze in some work. However, as time went on, his work quality noticeably declined. He got scolded by his boss several times. 0

Finally, he couldn't take it anymore and suggested that Mother-in-law stay with Sister-in-law for a couple of days. Upon hearing this, she was not pleased. 0

"Ding Jian, have you forgotten your mother after marrying your wife?" 0

"Do you know how hard I worked to raise you?" 0

"Now, for the sake of a stranger, you're pushing your own mother away." 0

"I don't care; I want to stay here with you." 0

With that, she plopped down on the sofa and began to cry. Ding Jian rubbed his forehead and patiently said, "Mom, once He Xing is pregnant, you can come and take care of her, okay? I'm really busy with work right now and don't have time to be with you." 0

Mother-in-law pouted and reluctantly got up: 0

"Alright, I'll stay with your sister for two days." 0

Half a month later, my mother-in-law returned with Sister-in-law. 0

Is she treating me like a fool? 0

Using my compassion and kindness to manipulate me. 0

As for whether Ding Jian knows about this, I have no idea. 0

The moment my mother-in-law saw me, she burst into tears. "He Xing, my dear daughter-in-law, why am I so unfortunate?" 0

"What should we do?" I was momentarily at a loss for words. 0

Sister-in-law tried to comfort her from the side. "Mom, everyone has their own fate; try to be more open-minded." 0

My mother-in-law cried even harder. 0

I calmly said, "Mom, don't be too upset." 0

I continued, "Mom, we can't delay when it comes to health." 0

"How about this? I'll take you to the hospital for a check-up tomorrow." 0

"You’re getting older; you need to take care of yourself." 0

"We'll go see a top oncologist at the best hospital and have them take a good look at you." 0

Sister-in-law quickly intervened. "Mom, have you forgotten that you have cancer?" 0

"Why go to the hospital?" 0

My mother-in-law touched her head and said somewhat regretfully, "Yes, how could I forget that I have cancer?" 0

"Really, getting old makes one forgetful." 0

I gently said, "Mom, you're getting older and your health isn't great; you should really go see a doctor." 0

"I can accompany you to the hospital." 0

My mother-in-law waved her hand dismissively. "No need, no need; I know my own body well enough." 0

I turned to Ding Jian. "Honey, what do you think?" 0

Ding Jian thought for a moment and said, "Mom, I think He Xing is right. You should go to the hospital for a check-up." 0

My mother-in-law opened her mouth, wanting to say something more. I watched the scene with cold eyes. The dining table fell into silence. 0

Suddenly, my mother-in-law sighed, "I don't know how the hospital managed to find out about my cancer." 0

"I just want to see my grandson one last time. Why is it so difficult?" 0

I couldn't help but frown, feeling a bit impatient. However, Ding Jian's expression grew increasingly grim. Did he not know about this at all? I began to doubt whether my previous assumptions were correct. 0
