In the sky, the Thunder Sound grew louder, with countless thunderclaps splitting the frozen clouds and striking the branches of the Heavenly Tree.
"I can't take it anymore! You forced my hand!" Zhao Yang roared, issuing a warning.
The thunder rolled ominously in the sky, and suddenly, the winds surged, filling the world with a cacophony of thunder. In the distant horizon, strange clouds swirled, accompanied by a booming sound.
The fierce wind howled, making it difficult for everyone to open their eyes. Above the Sky-Connecting Forest, flashes of lightning illuminated the scene as if heaven itself was about to unleash its fury.
"What’s happening? Is it really thundering and raining at this time?" a demon cultivator wondered aloud, seemingly having not witnessed such a dramatic celestial event in ages.

There are many kinds of terror in this world: fear of darkness, fear of threats from those stronger than oneself, fear of those lofty beings above. Yet nothing instills greater fear than the wrath of heaven. No force of fear can match the trembling brought on by divine anger. This is something that heaven does not permit, as it violates the laws of nature. Everything has a cycle of growth and decay; where there is youth, there is old age; where there is life, there is death. To transcend the cycles of age and life would provoke heaven's wrath, a wrath known as the Heavenly Tribulation.
Since ancient times, anyone wishing to attain immortality must first overcome the Heavenly Tribulation. Of course, the only exception is the first generation holder of the Spirit Pearl, who can bypass this trial. Since the opening of the heavens and the birth of all living beings, anyone aspiring to become a legendary immortal must face this tribulation.
The power of the Heavenly Tribulation represents heaven's fury; it possesses enough force to annihilate all living beings. No one can escape its judgment. Yet humanity is clever. From ancient times to now, countless talented individuals have emerged, creating various cultivation methods to enhance their strength and resist the Heavenly Tribulation. Thus, an extensive cultivation system has been established throughout history. As long as one can survive the Heavenly Tribulation, they can achieve the Supreme Fruit Position and join the ranks of immortals, becoming an eternal existence between heaven and earth.
However, heaven does not always align with human desires; very few cultivators can successfully pass through the Heavenly Tribulation.
Some believe that those who fail to overcome it simply lack talent.
In reality, anyone who reaches the Tribulation Period is undoubtedly a genius.
Those small cultivators in the Qi Refinement Stage are often referred to as immortal masters, possessing powers of longevity. A small cultivator in this stage can be considered a renowned genius in their village. A person at the Core Formation Stage might become a local tyrant or a regional leader. Generally, lightning strikes from talented individuals range from several thousand to tens of thousands of volts. The greater the power, the harder it becomes to maintain an attack with lightning because instantaneous lethality is insufficient for killing; only heavenly thunder possesses such capability.
Heavenly thunder exceeds one million volts; in an instant, it can obliterate all organic life. Every living being contains water within its body, which conducts electricity. With such immense electrical pressure from lightning, no organism can endure it—perhaps only a dragon hundreds of miles long could withstand such force.
Thus, one can imagine how terrifying the Heavenly Tribulation truly is. The lifespan of a cultivator averages around one thousand years—ten times that of an ordinary human. However, for talented cultivators without bottlenecks in their cultivation journey, it generally takes less than a thousand years to reach the Tribulation Period. Yet many—one might say nearly everyone—wait until they are nearing the end of their lifespan or still have over a hundred years left before choosing to transcend tribulation. By that time, everything should be prepared: all cultivation methods should have reached Great Achievement level and be well integrated; they should have enjoyed life's pleasures and gathered necessary treasures. It would then be time to choose to transcend tribulation.

Some people never want to Transcend Tribulation in their lifetime. The thunder crashing down from the sky is terrifying to behold; who would dare to face it head-on?
Yet, there are those who hold onto a glimmer of hope, thinking that perhaps, by some stroke of luck, they might successfully Transcend Tribulation. If they do, they would live as long as the heavens and earth, free from the fear of death.
However, among those who dare to try, ninety-nine out of a hundred meet their demise.
Ascending to Immortality is not that easy. Throughout history, there have been those who have achieved it, but those are mere legends. Legends are often ethereal and elusive; human hearts are inscrutable. Who knows if the historians ever truly witnessed an immortal?
Nevertheless, many famous Super Geniuses from history have had their Tribulation Periods recorded with special Crystals, passed down through generations. Yet in those images, those geniuses were often depicted as having their heads blown apart by a sudden lightning strike.
Some speculate that perhaps Ascending to Immortality requires one to die first and then be reborn; a shattered head might allow the Primordial Spirit to ascend.
Those who speak such words rarely end well. Since ancient times, countless Predecessors have accumulated knowledge and experience regarding Transcending Tribulation for future generations. Eventually, someone succeeded in Transcending Tribulation and reached the Ascension Stage. Those who reach the Ascension Stage can generally be considered immortals. They may linger on earth for a time, but those who Ascend to Immortality cannot remain in the mortal realm; they must ascend to the Upper Realm. Immortals possess immense power; their every gesture can easily devastate mountains and rivers, causing calamities.
Thus, heaven shows mercy towards life. Generally, kind-hearted individuals find it somewhat easier during Transcend Tribulation. However, those with heavy murderous intent face greater challenges; the power of Heavenly Tribulation intensifies significantly.
Once someone reaches the Ascension Stage, they have one foot in the immortal realm and must leave the mortal world within three years. This is because those who Ascend to Immortality require nourishment from celestial energy; their current environment is no longer suitable for their survival. Moreover, under the suppression of the heavenly principles, an individual who has Ascended to Immortality is akin to an ordinary person in a vacuum—unable to breathe without air.
While those at the Ascension Stage can still breathe normally, prolonged absence of celestial energy leads to malnutrition and gradual weakening of their bodies until they become ordinary mortals or even die. Cultivation is indeed peculiar; cultivators are the most exquisite creations of heaven.
