Zhao Yang did not find it strange. When he was at the Myriad Spirit Sect, he had easily pierced through the Mountain Protection Formation with just a finger. Any formation maintained by power crumbled before him, even those set by superpowers in the Tribulation Period could not withstand his might.
However, the formations within the middle space were far more peculiar and elusive. Zhao Yang carefully compared the Blueprint in his hand with the Cliff, examining the formation from various angles. He pondered deeply, even jotting down formulas to calculate the perimeter. But soon, he halted his foolish actions, staring blankly at a spot above his head.
Suddenly, as if he had discovered something, Zhao Yang excitedly dashed to the other side of the formation. He circled around it, comparing it with the Blueprint, muttering to himself, "So that's how it is."
Then, Zhao Yang leaped into the air and landed in front of a palm print on the Cliff. He pressed down with his palm but was instantly rebounded by a powerful repulsion. Fortunately, he managed to withdraw in time; otherwise, he would have been hurt. After failing once, he quickly moved to another side of the formation and tried again, but once more he failed.
Frowning slightly, Zhao Yang continued to circle to another side and pressed his palm down again, only to be thrown back once more. Frustrated, he noted that there were only four palm prints and had already failed three times. With only one left untried, he feared it might not work either.
Gathering his courage, Zhao Yang flew up again and placed his palm on the last print on the Shore Cliff. This time, it fit perfectly, emitting a blazing white light from the center. Zhao Yang felt a surge of joy and turned to Demon Empress and Bai Xi, saying, "I did it."
But Bai Xi suddenly exclaimed, "Be careful!"
Zhao Yang felt a rush of air behind him and immediately activated Time Walk. A Crimson Flying Sword shot through the air, destroying several structures in the distance.
At that moment, a cacophony of bird calls echoed within the formation.
Demon Empress's eyes widened in fury as an immense pressure suddenly descended upon Zhao Yang. He felt as if he were carrying an enormous weight but quickly utilized his techniques to dispel such overwhelming force.
Zhao Yang remarked, "Is this how you treat someone who helps you break your formation?"
He stared unflinchingly at Demon Empress without any intention of backing down. Bai Xi had never seen anyone dare to glare at Demon Empress like that before.
"If I see you harm A Qing again, be careful—I will take your head," Demon Empress warned fiercely.
"Then you should try me. I already know how to break this formation and nearly lost my life doing so. Instead of receiving gratitude, I am threatened with death. There are gains and losses; if you lack the courage for this task, don't ask me for help," Zhao Yang said before turning away with the Blueprint in hand.
"Can you really break this formation?" Bai Xi asked.
Demon Empress's expression was somewhat awkward; she realized she shouldn't have treated Zhao Yang that way earlier. At the same time, she felt both joy and surprise—joy because she finally heard A Qing's voice again; surprise because A Qing's calls were in beast language. It seemed that over these years she had transformed back into her true form as an Azure Phoenix.
Zhao Yang replied, "Of course I can, but not today."
"Why?" both the Demon Empress and Bai Xi asked simultaneously.
"Because I'm not happy today!" Zhao Yang replied.
"You!" Bai Xi pouted, angrily pointing at Zhao Yang. "You can't give my father that kind of face."
The Demon Empress's expression was also not very pleasant. Partly because he had been too eager just now, acting a bit recklessly. As the Demon Empress, he could remain calm in almost any situation, but he would lose his composure only when facing the woman he loved most in his life. The other reason was that Zhao Yang was indeed giving him a hard time.
Zhao Yang continued to walk away from the formation, completely unconcerned about the gazes of the Demon Empress and Bai Xi.
"Stop!" the Demon Empress called out to Zhao Yang.
Zhao Yang halted and turned back, saying, "What is it? Do you want to kill me, or do you want to enter my mind and see for yourself?"
The Demon Empress sighed and said, "I was wrong just now."
A look of shock appeared in Bai Xi's eyes. She had never seen the Demon Empress bow to anyone before, yet here he was apologizing to an unknown individual.
Zhao Yang stopped and said, "Today won't work because breaking through the formation requires meeting four conditions."
"What are those four conditions?" Bai Xi and the Demon Empress asked simultaneously.
Zhao Yang explained, "We need people from the Human Race, Beast Race, Demon Race, and the Demon Clan to channel their True Qi into the formation together; otherwise, if one person is missing, it won't open."
The Demon Empress said, "We don't need to worry about the Human Race and Beast Race. We can catch a few from the Demon Race by going to Zhongzhou, but where can we find someone from the Demon Clan?"
Zhao Yang replied, "Actually, it's quite simple. We don't currently have anyone from the Demon Clan or Demon Race, but we can use their True Qi."
The Demon Empress asked, "Are you saying that we can each use our respective Cultivation Methods to transform our True Qi into that of another race's Cultivation Method?"
Zhao Yang nodded. "Yes. I know a bit about the Cultivation Methods of all four races. I've browsed through some in the Scripture Repository. I have a general understanding of each race's Cultivation Methods. Right now, with the three of us, we just need one more person to execute the plan."
"After Zhao Yang finished speaking, Bai Xi looked at the Demon Empress, who nodded and said, 'Easy.'
Then, the light around the Demon Empress suddenly changed, splitting into two, creating a clone.
Zhao Yang felt somewhat frustrated. So many people could use the Clone Cultivation Method. He had read through countless books but had only seen methods to break the clone technique; none of them contained information on how to create clones. After the Demon Empress created her clone, it could last for about the time it takes to burn an incense stick. Time was pressing, so Zhao Yang immediately began teaching the Demon Empress the Demon Clan's energy manipulation techniques and instructing Bai Xi on the Demon Race's Cultivation Method.
About an hour later, the three of them and the Demon Empress's clone were ready and positioned in four directions.
At that moment, Bai Xi raised a question, saying, 'What if we all transmit our True Qi at the same time? What will happen if there's even a slight miscalculation?'
Zhao Yang replied, 'It would trigger an explosion of the formation. I estimate that besides the Demon Empress, both of us and the person inside the formation would be killed.'
Zhao Yang did not hide this; on the contrary, he spoke with a somewhat playful tone.
However, seeing that the faces of the Demon Empress and Bai Xi were not looking good, he became serious and said, 'So at this moment, I need to activate my Enlightenment Realm to descend upon all of you. You will follow my rhythm and press together. As long as there are no external interferences, there won't be any mistakes.'
Only then did the pale-faced Demon Empress breathe a sigh of relief. If saving his wife meant losing his daughter, he truly could not bear it. However, hearing Zhao Yang say that he could achieve Enlightenment surprised him. It seemed that the rumors from Zhongzhou were not wrong; Zhao Yang was indeed a genius with many extraordinary experiences, possessing Enlightenment power at such a young age.
Waves of Ripple of Enlightenment spread out like water. Both the Demon Empress and Bai Xi were somewhat astonished because their realms were higher than Zhao Yang's. Yet at this moment, feeling his powerful Enlightenment Divine Sense made them realize what kind of strength this was. It was a sense of confidence and keen observation of everything—a feeling of invincibility.
If one had Enlightenment Divine Sense during battle, wouldn't that mean they could see everything about their opponent clearly?"
