Chapter Two Hundred and Thirty: The Beginning of the Breakthrough
The Demon Empress, in a fit of rage, killed her own brother and executed all her other brothers who participated in the rebellion without leaving a single one alive. She showed no hesitation whatsoever. The Demon Queen was trapped in an absolute formation, unaware of her fate. Before his death, her brother revealed the name and purpose of this formation, leaving her in eternal pain and guilt.
For hundreds of years, the Demon Empress suffered, longing for the Demon Queen. However, Dreamland Manor was a peculiar formation that even the strongest Divine Sense could not penetrate. She believed that if she reached a certain level of cultivation, she would be able to break the absolute formation. Yet, even after attaining the Tribulation Period, Mid-Transcendence, Post-Transcendence, and Transcendence Completion, she still could not decipher the formation of Dreamland Manor. Thus, she began searching for Masters of Formation to bring back to her people.
In reality, not all Masters of Formation had been killed. Those who could break through a layer of the formation were rewarded with many rare treasures and safely sent back. However, if a Master of Formation could not even lift a single restriction, they would be killed. After all, she was from the demon race while those Masters were human; some humans were unwilling to serve demons and reluctant to pay the price, which led her to resort to such drastic measures.
Yet for hundreds of years, despite searching everywhere for masters capable of breaking formations, none could solve it. Eventually, the Demon Empress encountered an Extraordinary Person who understood the Heavenly Mechanism Star Chart and helped her. This Extraordinary Person informed her that to break the formation, one must have someone who is the progenitor of power. Additionally, they needed to traverse the rapidly rotating light walls of the absolute formation; otherwise, it would be futile. As for the outer layer of the formation, anyone with sufficient cultivation could resolve it. Regarding Dreamland Manor's absolute formation, the Extraordinary Person also told the Demon Empress that it was incorrect to claim it was unsolvable; in fact, it was an accidental creation by a renowned master of trapping formations who himself did not know how to solve it.
Upon hearing this, Zhao Yang finally had some clues. The notion that something was unsolvable did not mean it truly was; according to Murphy's Law, anything that can happen will happen—only the conditions and timing had yet to mature.
Zhao Yang's knowledge now was enough to astonish even those ancient scholars who had studied for millennia. He had read an immense number of books—over a hundred thousand volumes—with an incredibly rich breadth of knowledge; there was almost nothing he did not know. He recalled having seen an ancient scroll on formations at You Xian Sect's Scripture Repository that contained several methods for breaking absolute formations at its end. Among them was a conjecture regarding how to break Dreamland Manor's formation.
After finishing her story, the Demon Empress took out several blueprints from her robe and handed them to Zhao Yang. "These are summaries compiled by past Masters of Formation. Take a look; you have three years to break this formation."
"Three years?" Bai Xi and Zhao Yang exclaimed simultaneously, though their reasons for surprise differed.
Bai Xi said, "Father, you previously gave those Masters ten years; how can he possibly break it in just three years when he's still so young?"
Zhao Yang felt a cold sweat break out upon hearing this. "I am deeply concerned about your intelligence levels but also understand your confusion; after all, there are very few people as clever as I am—truly rare."
While disparaging both the Demon Empress and Bai Xi, Zhao Yang couldn't help but boast about himself. After finishing his self-praise, he changed his tone and said, "However, I really cannot agree to just three years."
Bai Xi quietly felt that something was off and murmured, "It seems you haven't completely lost your mind. For three years, I've been trying to stop your father from killing you, but I can't hold him back."
The expression on the Demon Empress's face clearly darkened. In a low voice, she said, "Three years is already a considerable grace period I've given you. You'd better not push your luck. Remember, I saved..."
"Saved my life, right?" Zhao Yang interrupted the Demon Empress.
Without even glancing at her, Zhao Yang seemed indifferent to the fear that everyone had of the Demon Empress. Instead, he flipped through the Blueprint in his hands several times and remarked, "It's not very professional. I didn't attend a prestigious university, but I had a classmate who was particularly passionate about architecture. As Zhao Yang spoke, he pointed at the content on the Blueprint and said, "Look at this formation. Let's start with the outermost layer; it's shrouded in mist. This mist can change into various colors and patterns, vibrant and beautiful, giving it a dreamlike quality. That's why this formation is called Dreamland Manor."
Upon hearing this, both the Demon Empress and Bai Xi moved closer. Bai Xi looked at Zhao Yang with an expressionless face and asked, "But what does this have to do with breaking the formation?"
After saying this, both the Demon Empress and Bai Xi expected Zhao Yang to respond with something like, "It has everything to do with it."
However, Zhao Yang merely shrugged and shook his head. "It has nothing to do with it; I'm just lamenting how unprofessional their drawings are. If it were me, I certainly wouldn't turn this cloud into a little flower. Just look."
Before Zhao Yang could finish his sentence, the Demon Empress's expression suddenly turned icy. She glared at him and said, "Do you think I enjoy joking around?"
Zhao Yang chuckled awkwardly and replied, "Actually, you've given way too long of a deadline. I think we could break the formation right now."
"Right now?" The Demon Empress and Bai Xi were once again taken aback. Their expressions darkened as they guessed that Zhao Yang was just joking again.
But this time, Zhao Yang acted like a scholar adjusting his glasses as he pushed up the corners of his eyes and said, "Look at the Blueprint and these other drawings. Although there are slight discrepancies in their depictions, they aren't far off. The outer layer of the formation is made up of changing mists; for us, that's not too difficult to deal with. To break it, we just need to avoid being confused by the fog and we can easily pass through. However, when it comes to the middle layer of the formation, there are some differences that arise. If we explore this formation with Divine Sense, it seems that our Divine Sense gets absorbed and cannot provide feedback information at all. So if someone can draw such a Blueprint, they must have gone deep inside. I suspect those Masters of Formation must have ventured into the middle layer; their drawings are mostly similar but they don't know what exactly drives its operation—is it light? Is it mysterious energy? Is it some kind of dark substance that absorbs other things? Their answers vary widely. Yet their assumptions about what lies within the formation are fundamentally similar: speed. This is also why you said only my teleportation could get us in—because if we try to break through a rapidly spinning formation without matching its internal speed, both those inside and outside would be torn apart into pieces. Therefore, we need to synchronize our speed with that of the inner walls of the formation to enter safely. Looking at this Blueprint in my hands, each Master of Formation has drawn different representations for the middle layer; they should all be similar since they are Masters of Formation—how could they differ? The answer is simple: they saw different things inside the formation."
Demon Empress and Bai Xi listened intently as Zhao Yang provided a detailed analysis. Bai Xi remarked, "You can actually see such things from these Blueprints?"
Demon Empress was also astonished by Zhao Yang's analytical abilities. After all, for someone to make such precise observations and analyses without any prior knowledge could only be attributed to either genius or sheer nonsense.
Zhao Yang replied, "That's why I need to go in and find out. The most critical aspect of this formation is not the dream or the absolute, but the fact that it isolates Divine Sense. As long as Divine Sense can probe inside, breaking the formation would be a matter of moments. After saying this, Zhao Yang stepped onto a floating stone staircase beneath him but suddenly fell through as he approached the high and bizarre dream formation. However, just as he got near, he was met with a repulsive force that blocked his way.

Formations are usually maintained by energy provided by spirit stones, Talismans, or Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures. Some are sustained by spiritual energy left behind by Supreme Beings. "This place is not any of those you mentioned; it is Feng Shui. Moreover, it is an absolute formation of Feng Shui—an absolutely formed land-based formation that has been artificially enhanced to become even more powerful and extraordinarily formidable. It surpasses ordinary formations and is generally not easy to break." Zhao Yang continued from where Demon Empress left off, extending his index finger to tentatively press forward.
Crack—crack—
Two sounds resembling glass shattering echoed through the air. Immediately afterward, the mist dissipated, revealing the lush scenery of Dreamland Manor.
Demon Empress and Bai Xi exchanged glances in disbelief. They had never witnessed anything so peculiar before; every time they attempted to enter the absolute formation of Dreamland Manor, they had to exert tremendous effort. Yet here was Zhao Yang, who effortlessly pierced through the outer formation with just a single finger.
