“Golden Peng Young Master, what audacity you have to come to my Myriad Spirit Sect and turn the tables! Although you are one of the Royal Trio in the late Core Formation Stage, do you not fear coming here alone and not returning?” The Grand Elder threatened openly.
Golden Peng Young Master laughed heartily, a mocking expression on his face. Just as he was about to speak, a sound of breaking air came from behind him, and Zhao Yang descended behind Golden Peng Young Master. All eyes in the hall immediately turned to Zhao Yang, including Golden Peng Young Master, who turned around with a hostile gaze.
“What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you to deliver the Foundation Pill to Qingxue? Hurry up and get it done,” Ji Wudao suddenly spoke, reprimanding Zhao Yang.
Zhao Yang lowered his head, catching the hint in Ji Wudao's words. If even Ji Wudao was letting him go, and there was a stranger daring to confront the high-ranking members of Myriad Spirit Sect in front of him, he slightly raised his head to glance at the young man and nodded, saying, “Yes, Sect Master.”
As he turned to leave, an abrupt voice called out, “Wait!”
The voice came from the young man behind him.
Golden Peng Young Master smiled and said, “Your acting is quite good; however, you overlooked a detail. You resemble a young boy well enough, but your habits haven’t changed. How could a boy dare to turn around and leave after receiving an order from the Sect Master in the hall? Given Master Ji's attitude towards you, you must be Zhao Yang.”
Zhao Yang stopped in his tracks and turned to look at Golden Peng Young Master, asking, “Who are you? You’re quite clever.”
Golden Peng Young Master humbly replied, “You flatter me. I am Golden Peng, a member of the Central State Royal Family, known as Golden Peng Young Master.”
Zhao Yang nodded and said, “Oh, so it’s you.”
“What’s this? Little brother has heard of me?” Golden Peng Young Master was surprised that his reputation had reached a low-ranking disciple of a small sect.
“I haven’t heard of you,” Zhao Yang replied earnestly. His innocent demeanor made it seem like he genuinely didn’t mean any offense.
“You!” Golden Peng Young Master was furious and pointed at Zhao Yang threateningly. “Are you seeking death?”
Zhao Yang shook his head and chuckled lightly. “I wouldn’t dare. My name is Liu Changxing. It’s truly an honor to meet Golden Peng Young Master today. However, I must go deliver some pills to my junior sister now, so I’ll take my leave.”
“That’s Zhao Yang! Don’t be fooled by this little man!” A loud shout came from Shen Gongye beside Duan Wude. Duan Wude smirked at Zhao Yang with a hint of killing intent.
“Impudent! Do you have any right to speak here?” Ji Wudao shouted loudly. The thunderous sound wave sent Shen Gongye flying back, blood streaming from his ears.
Golden Peng Young Master clapped his hands in approval and leaped in front of Zhao Yang, saying slowly, "What are you all waiting for?!" With a swift motion, he struck towards Zhao Yang. Zhao Yang ducked and darted towards the main entrance of the hall. Golden Peng Young Master pretended to chase after him.
"Stop!" Ji Wudao slammed his hand on the table and stood up, ready to intervene.
Suddenly, Ji Wudao felt a sharp pain in his lower back. To his shock, Third Elder, who had been standing beside him, had thrust a strange ruler that glimmered coldly into his back.
Ji Wudao pushed Third Elder away with a forceful palm strike, but his True Qi surged uncontrollably. He stumbled back and fell onto the throne, rage boiling within him.
Sixth Elder shouted, "Third Senior Brother, have you gone mad?!"
Third Elder laughed heartily and pointed at Ji Wudao, saying, "Ji Wudao, your time has come!"
With a pale face, Ji Wudao coldly asked, "Third Senior Brother, I have always treated you well. Why do this to me?"
Boom!
A Giant Palm came crashing from another direction. Ji Wudao turned to confront it but was sent flying backward. Sixth Elder withdrew his sword aimed at Third Elder and rushed forward to catch Ji Wudao, roaring, "Master Brother, have you lost your mind too? He is our sect leader and our Junior Brother!"
Ji Wudao got up, dusting himself off as he coughed and said, "I want to know why this is happening."
"Why? Since you joined the Sect, Master has given you everything that originally belonged to us. I won't even mention that. He even passed the position of sect leader to you. After becoming sect leader, you have done nothing but neglect your duties and allowed the disciples of the Sect to run wild and fall into depravity. I cannot stand by and watch you ruin the Sect!"
"You old fool! Do you even realize you're blind? Where do you get off saying that?!" Zhao Yang shouted angrily; he had not expected the Grand Elder of the Sect to betray Myriad Spirit Sect.
"Zhao Yang, you little beast! Hand over the Spirit Pearl now! Otherwise, I'll skin you alive and refine your soul until I find it!" Duan Wude shouted coldly.
"The fox's tail has finally shown itself! I thought you could keep pretending to be mute forever. Can't hold it in anymore? I've said before that I won't give the Spirit Pearl to anyone! Whoever I want to give something to will receive it; if I don't give it, you can't take it! Besides, the Spirit Pearl isn't even with me. If you want to kill me, go ahead! Don't pin some baseless accusations on me!" Zhao Yang declared with righteous indignation, showing no fear for his life. His words made everyone question what Second Elder had said earlier.
"Interesting, truly interesting. This kid's personality suits my taste!" Golden Peng Young Master said while fanning himself.
"But I'm not interested in you!" Zhao Yang replied fearlessly, suddenly pointing behind Golden Peng Young Master and shouting, "Watch out for the flying saucer!"
As the Golden Peng Young Master turned around, Zhao Yang let out a quiet laugh and leaped forward, using a technique to strike with lethal force at this seemingly unfathomable young man.
The Golden Peng Young Master appeared unfazed by the deception; without even turning his head, he raised his hand and struck towards Zhao Yang's chest. To the onlookers, Zhao Yang was like a cannonball, launched with a thunderous crash against the throne where Ji Wudao had been seated, shattering it into pieces and embedding half of his body into the wall of the grand hall.
"How powerful!" Blood gushed from Zhao Yang's mouth as he grimaced in pain. However, before he could catch his breath, the blind elder Divine Sense, seated at the side, locked onto him. His cane trembled violently, emitting a grayish-white light that shot towards Zhao Yang. Ji Wudao and the Sixth Elder rushed to help but were already too late.
Dust flew everywhere as Zhao Yang's afterimage shattered. He suddenly appeared before the Sixth Elder and Ji Wudao, grabbing their arms. With a leap, they found themselves outside the grand hall's entrance. The entire hall was over a hundred feet long; this was already the farthest distance Zhao Yang could achieve with Time Walk.
"Huh?" Everyone was startled; this young man's agility could actually evade their Divine Sense! They recalled that just three days prior in the challenge arena, they could still track his movements using their Divine Sense.
Just as several elders were about to pursue, Zhao Yang and the others vanished again, reappearing three hundred meters away in the plaza outside.
As soon as Zhao Yang stopped, he coughed up blood and collapsed to the ground. The rapid succession of three Time Walks had drained his True Qi too quickly, leaving him unable to stand.
"Kid, how are you holding up?" Ji Wudao asked. With the Sixth Elder secretly channeling True Qi to him, he had improved significantly. He felt an indescribable bitterness in his heart after being betrayed by someone he trusted so completely.
"I’m not dead yet! But you should hurry up and get me out of here! Are you going to just sit there after taking a couple of hits?" Zhao Yang replied irritably, feeling a twinge of regret. His chest throbbed painfully; he still felt shaken by that strike from the Golden Peng Young Master.
"Little Long Hair, how can you speak like that?" The Sixth Elder, who always respected Ji Wudao, reprimanded Zhao Yang for his disrespectful words while noticing the long hair behind him.
"It’s fine, Sister," Ji Wudao gestured for the Sixth Elder not to blame Zhao Yang. His complexion gradually returned to normal from its earlier pallor.
