Jonas felt an indescribable fatigue wash over him, his thoughts sinking into a quagmire that he could not clear. He desperately tried to calm himself and think of a strategy, but the series of supernatural events had far exceeded anything he had ever experienced. Every second felt like a challenge, a war he could not face. He looked around at the mercenaries who had succumbed to madness and the encroaching darkness, his heart filled with despair. 0

Meanwhile, Isabella struggled to rise from the ground, leaning against the wall as she supported herself with trembling hands. Her breath came in quick gasps, her face pale. She knew that if she began to feel like Mocus, with the Black Worm spreading within her, her time was running out. She could not ignore the strange sensation in her chest, a fear that something was slowly consuming her life, making her heart race and cold sweat pour down her back. 0

But she could not stop; she could not give up. Step by step, she made her way toward Mocus's corpse, her eyes fixed on the pool of brain matter on the ground. The black Worms were still writhing within it. She trembled as she reached into her tool bag, pulling out a pair of small tweezers and a transparent test tube. She knew these Worms might hold the key to everything; perhaps they were the truth behind the Super Cell. 0

"Isabella, step back! Don't go near that thing!" Raymond shouted in disbelief as he saw her approach Mocus's body, his voice filled with anxiety and fear. He raised his gun, aiming at the pool of brain matter, ready to shoot at any moment, though his hand trembled uncontrollably. 0

"Those things killed Mocus; do you want to end up like him?" Raymond's voice was laced with anger, his fear and helplessness making him increasingly agitated. 0

But Isabella paid no heed to his warnings; it was as if she hadn’t heard him at all. Her hands shook slightly, but her movements were resolute. She crouched down and carefully used the tweezers to grasp one of the wriggling black worms before swiftly placing it into the test tube. With a sharp click, she sealed the tube shut, trapping the Worm inside, yet that eerie sensation did not fade. 0

"Are you crazy?!" Raymond's roar echoed again; his fear and anger were uncontrollable as he nearly lunged forward to pull Isabella away. 0

Yet Isabella remained unfazed by Raymond's shouts; she held tightly onto the test tube, a glint of near-manic determination flashing in her eyes. She knew this Worm might be the breakthrough for the Light Activation Project—whether through death or success, this was the answer she had to pursue. 0

Raymond yanked Isabella hard, throwing her aside with an uncontrollable fury etched across his face. His grip tightened around her arm as if trying to embed his fingers into her flesh with increasing force. That uncontainable rage churned within him like a ferocious beast ready to pounce on its prey. His expression darkened, eyes filled with wrath and violence; emotions surged like a tide that could not be held back. 0

"Are you insane?" Raymond growled through clenched teeth, almost whispering in Isabella's ear. "What are you doing? Do you want to die that badly?!" 0

Isabella gasped for breath, feeling pain radiate from her arm but stubbornly refusing to resist. She understood that Raymond's anger had nowhere to go; yet at this moment, her rational mind told her that his rage was directed at more than just her—something darker and more terrifying was growing within him. She felt an oppressive force emanating from Raymond as if an invisible power enveloped her in an instant. 0

Raymond's knuckles turned white as his muscles tensed. Deep within him arose a mad thought—he wanted to kill Isabella, to tear her body apart completely and watch her suffer until death took her. This impulse pierced through his mind like a sharp needle. He craved to see her blood spill on the ground, to witness her expression shift from terror to despair before it vanished entirely. 0

The thought coiled around Raymond's mind like a venomous snake in the dark, suffocating him. 0

"Why not just let her die?" a dark voice whispered within him, gnawing at his sanity and urging his hands to move. In that moment, he felt no rationality, only a desperate craving for violence. 0

Isabella stared at him blankly, pain etched on her face, yet her gaze remained resolute. She knew she stood on the brink of life and death, and Raymond was the demon bearing chains. She clenched her teeth, silently resisting the fear that threatened to overwhelm her. Though she could not control the situation, she refused to be crushed by terror. 0

Raymond's breathing grew increasingly erratic as an inexplicable force surged within his chest, almost unbearable. He gritted his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead, rage pushing him to the edge of losing control. He squeezed his eyes shut, forcing himself to calm down, yet his fingers still gripped Isabella's arm tightly, nearly crushing her bones. 0

"Let go, Raymond," Jonas's deep voice came from behind, breaking through the impending fury. 0

Raymond's chest heaved violently as he slowly released Isabella's hand and stepped back, as if awakening from a nightmare. 0

He retreated slowly, his expression dark and bewildered, his mind shrouded in fog. The anger he had just felt and the impulse to kill Isabella had come without warning, like a sudden black tide that engulfed him completely. As he regained his composure, fear crept in; this emotion did not stem from within but felt like an external force beyond his control. 0

"How could I have such thoughts?" Raymond questioned himself. He was not someone easily swayed by emotions, especially after countless brushes with death that had taught him to remain calm in any situation. Yet that intense desire to kill seemed to come from another version of himself. He struggled to comprehend the source of this emotion and dared not delve deeper for fear of sinking into greater madness. 0

His hands instinctively clenched and unclenched as a familiar itch surfaced beneath his skin, as if something were writhing and crawling just beneath the surface. His breathing quickened as he fought the urge to grasp his own arms but managed to suppress it, unwilling to draw attention from others. 0

"No... I can't let them know," Raymond thought grimly. The situation was already strange enough; the group's nerves were like a string about to snap—any slight pressure could lead to complete collapse. At that moment, any excess fear or anxiety could push them toward the brink of destruction. 0

He struggled to steady his breath, silently closing his mouth and making no sound. The doubts and fears within him were suppressed, yet the itch grew stronger. It felt as if something was slowly and silently growing beneath his skin, waiting for the moment to erupt. Raymond clenched his jaw tightly, resisting the urge to scratch at the itchy skin while his gaze darkened further. He knew everything had spiraled out of control, but all he could do was remain silent and wait for what would come next. 0
