At the foot of Mount Tai, within the Gorge, Iron Bull leaped into the air, furiously raising the Demon King's Great Halberd to strike at Miao Guanyin. Miao Guanyin looked up at the soaring Iron Bull, her palms converging as Iron Bull's figure was reflected in the Fury Realm.
Iron Bull struggled, unable to move. He roared and swung the Demon King's Great Halberd, but faced with Miao Guanyin's Fury Realm, he could not resist at all.
Seeing this, the severely injured Yang Sanqian immediately projected his Dao Body. The golden Dao Body exuded a magnificent aura, attempting to interrupt Miao Guanyin's spellcasting. Song Qianqiu stood in front of Yang Sanqian's Dao Body and said, "Divine Hero, do not rush. This big fellow is like an Immortal no matter how you hit him; instead, he grows stronger with each battle. It would be better to see if he can survive after experiencing the Fury Realm."
Miao Guanyin pressed her palms inward, compressing the air. Iron Bull screamed in agony as his skin cracked open. However, at that moment, Iron Bull suddenly fell from the air, and the Fury Realm vanished.
"Hmm?" Song Qianqiu turned his head, looking at Miao Guanyin with a puzzled expression.
On Miao Guanyin's Heart, the Evil Weapon emitted an endless evil force that pierced through. The Sword Body flipped and suddenly shattered Miao Guanyin, while the sword energy simultaneously pierced through Song Qianqiu's body.
Song Qianqiu was greatly alarmed as he rolled over from the ground. He retreated cautiously and said, "You really came after all. What is going on? Where did you get this power?"
I replied, "Song Qianqiu, if I were not suppressed by the Injury of the Dao, even if you were Supreme, I could kill you as easily as slaughtering a dog!"
I raised the Evil Weapon to strike at Song Qianqiu. As he looked at the massive dark sword light descending upon him, blood patterns wrinkled across his body and spread all over him. He broke free from the Evil Weapon's restraint and fled into the distance.
I chased after him. Upon reaching a mountain range surrounded by towering peaks, countless Yin Soldiers suddenly surged from both sides to attack me. Hundreds of spears shot toward me. I chanted an Incantation and unleashed Righteous Qi; my Dao Qi dispersed them like arrows piercing through Yin Soldiers and nailing them into the mountains.
A wave of Clear Light suddenly enveloped me; grass and trees stood still, insects froze in mid-air. Song Qianqiu shouted angrily, "Why are you the only one not under the control of the Great Wilderness Scripture? Why?!"
Earlier, when Song Qianqiu was a master of the Mahayana Realm during the Taishan Battle, I was unaffected by the Great Wilderness Scripture and could move freely. Now that Song Qianqiu had become Supreme, no master within the Time Barrier of the Great Wilderness Scripture could move—this included Miao Guanyin and Old Scholar—but even so, I could still act freely.
Listening to Song Qianqiu's voice coming from a certain direction, I leaped up suddenly; starlight glimmered in my eyes as mountains twisted and giant trees and rocks uprooted themselves. Song Qianqiu hid behind a stone to conceal his presence. I poured all my power into the Evil Weapon while simultaneously activating a hundredfold enhancement of Rift Path. With one sword strike, Song Qianqiu screamed in agony as he was frozen in place by the peculiar power of the Evil Weapon.
With a thunderous roar, the ground cracked open; a black fissure tore through the air as mountains were lifted thousands of feet into the sky amidst rising dust and destruction. Holding the Evil Weapon, I walked into the ruins and discovered Song Qianqiu's body already severed in two within the debris.
Song Qianqiu's eyes widened in shock as he opened his mouth, seemingly asking me why. In a moment of panic, I ignited him with Dao Fire. Amidst the chaos, everything began to blur, and soon, I saw a black sphere rising in the flames, resembling a Dao Fruit but entirely black.
I raised my Evil Weapon and struck at the black Dao Fruit. With a clang, golden sparks flew, yet despite the weapon being perfectly sharp, the black Dao Fruit remained unscathed.
I collapsed to the ground, watching as the black light grew larger, blindingly illuminating everything. The scene shifted, and I found myself inside a bamboo house on Qingliang Mountain.
"How about we send Yang Hao's head to Song Qianqiu? That's the only way left," came a voice from next door—Five.
Hearing Five's words again left me numb. It seemed my suspicions were correct; killing Song Qianqiu would immediately return us to three years ago. This time, I realized that the key to resetting time lay within Song Qianqiu—the black substance inside him resembled an inner elixir but was slightly larger than a Dao Fruit.
I quickly calmed myself. First, there were still three days until the grand battle at Mount Tai. On the morning of the third day, Guo Daozhen and Five would set out to kill Song Qianqiu.
As the instigator of this time reset, Song Qianqiu naturally knew what was about to happen. Therefore, Guo Daozhen's plan was doomed to fail, including those who would rush over later like Yang Sanqian and Jiyao. Even if Yang Sanqian had become Supreme, he would still not be a match for Song Qianqiu.
In this world, I was the only one unaffected by the Great Wilderness Scripture. Although I didn't understand why, I alone could confront Song Qianqiu.
However, I was punished by Injury of the Dao; my Qi Sea was condensed, leaving my body weak.
Throughout history, many exceptional talents have suffered punishment for their insights into the Dao. Even those possessing unique Daoist Arts or awakening extraordinary Divine Abilities faced suppression due to their reckless understanding of The Might of the Dao.
The heavens do not allow overly talented individuals to exist; transcending rules leads to bodily rupture and soul dissolution. Yet once such individuals escape the punishment of Injury of the Dao, they can reverse their fate and slay immortals or vanquish demons.
The only way for me to escape Injury of the Dao was through the Ascension Elixir within Zhou Manman.
If I obtained the Ascension Elixir from Zhou Manman, she would die—and that was not what I wanted.
If everyone were allowed to go to Mount Tai, they would all be doomed; no matter what choice was made, someone would die.
The Beast pointed to a large pile of Holy Medicine on the bed for me to take. I noticed a shadow flitting outside the bamboo house and quietly moved to the door, picking up the large Stone Hammer that the Iron Bull had left here.
As soon as I opened the door, I brought the Stone Hammer down on Five's head. He let out a terrible scream, collapsed to the ground, and a large bump appeared on his head as he fainted.
I placed the Stone Hammer on the ground. The others looked at me with a mix of shock and fear. I spoke first: "He wouldn't give me a chance to talk unless I knocked him out. I know your plan; Song Qianqiu already knows it too. Your scheme to swap Dao Bodies and refine Song Qianqiu with the Linglong Tower is doomed to fail. The first person he will kill is Yunxi."
"You eavesdropped on our conversation?" Guo Daozhen asked. "I don't understand what you mean."
I replied, "Song Qianqiu knows the Great Wilderness Scripture's Time Forbidden Technique, and since he possesses my Perfect Golden Core, he will inevitably comprehend Divine Ability in the Dao Fruit Realm. His Divine Ability is time reset; once he is killed, time will rewind back to this moment. Three breaths later, except for Iron Bull, all of you will die."
"That can't be true; are you out of your mind?" Huzi asked in disbelief.
"That's amazing!" Iron Bull exclaimed.
The others ignored Iron Bull and exchanged glances, still skeptical. Dongfang Yuqing said, "I've heard metaphors about time; it's like a line that can stretch or compress but cannot rewind. Did you see an illusion?"
The idea of time rewinding was too far-fetched; after all, besides me and Song Qianqiu, no one else could remember it.
Yunxi said, "I believe Yang Hao is the only one unaffected by the time barrier. If time truly rewinds, Song Qianqiu will remember it, and Yang Hao will certainly remember it too."
I turned to Guo Daozhen and said, "Old Guo, bring me the Zhou Compass."
Guo Daozhen handed me the Zhou Compass, and I adjusted the needle on it. The scene shifted; three breaths ago, everyone was busy. At that time, Taihe Zhenren was still alive, and his figure appeared in the illusion.
"That's not right; it shouldn't be three before, but three after," I said.
The Zhou Compass can locate treasures. It can reveal the history of a place in the past, but it cannot see the future. I had previously tried to move the needle on the compass clockwise to look into future events, but there was no response from the Zhou Compass.
Now, I cautiously adjusted the needle to point to three after. The scene shifted, becoming blurry. Two figures stood at the entrance of the Taoist temple: one was Douding, and the other was Zhou Manman. Douding was crying loudly while Zhou Manman turned and walked into a bamboo house.
Before long, my figure emerged from the bamboo house. Douding cried out, "Brother Yang Hao, you finally woke up! Sister Yunxi and Brother Five are dead."
"How do you know that?"
"Manman just saw it through an illusion. Where is she?"
At the same time, another voice echoed in the scene, distorting as if overlapping.
With a loud bang, the Zhou Compass suddenly cracked open with a thin fissure, white smoke billowing out, faintly shrouded in a layer of thunderlight, forcing me to throw the Zhou Compass to the ground.
Only then did everyone believe my words, their brows furrowed in concern. The only one who could deal with Song Qianqiu was me, but without Zhou Manman giving me the Ascension Elixir, I couldn't resist the Injury of the Dao.
The key to killing Song Qianqiu lay in Yunxi's Tai Xu Ling and Brother Five's Linglong Tower working together. However, facing the unparalleled strength of Miao Guanyin, along with the unpredictable Divine Ability of the White-Robed Old Scholar and countless Yin Soldiers led by the Ghost King, the battle was fragmented; no one could get past Miao Guanyin's challenge.
Guo Daozhen asked, "Why are you the only one not affected by the Time Forbidden Technique?"
I shook my head. "I don't know either. Maybe it's because of my Cultivation Method, or perhaps I've consumed too much Holy Medicine. It could also be due to the treasures I possess."
Guo Daozhen replied, "The Holy Medicine is unlikely to be the reason. As for your Cultivation Method, could it be because of the Martial Dao Classic? If it's about treasures, it must be an Evil Weapon."
The Evil Weapon has always been in my hands. Within the Time Barrier, I am uncontrollable, and naturally, the Evil Weapon is also beyond control. The Evil Weapon is the greatest of all artifacts; perhaps it is because of the Evil Weapon that I am not subject to the Great Wilderness Scripture? But upon closer thought, that doesn't seem right. The Tai Xu Ling is the supreme treasure of the Shuttle, transcending both void and time. In this regard, it surely surpasses the Evil Weapon, which is merely forged from the Ten Famous Swords and lacks such capabilities. It is unlikely that the Evil Weapon is the reason for my situation.
I looked at the Qiongqi lying at the mountain gate and said, "Big Cat, take me to find Manman."
Only then did everyone realize that Zhou Manman had vanished without a trace.
The Qiongqi let out a low growl and flew to my side. I climbed onto its back as it spread its fleshy wings and soared toward the back mountain of Qingliang Mountain. In the distance, on a peak, Zhou Manman was lost in sorrow. When she saw me approaching, she looked somewhat surprised.
I recounted to Zhou Manman what I had previously explained to everyone. Then I said, "The only way to kill Song Qianqiu seems to be for me to obtain your Ascension Elixir. However, I won't let you die; trust me."
Zhou Manman looked into my eyes and nodded. I continued, "After three days comes the Taishan Fengshan battle. Both previous ambushes resulted in total annihilation, and Song Qianqiu has died twice. He must be on guard after learning this situation; even if we make excellent preparations, there will still be casualties."
"How can I help you?" Zhou Manman asked.
I replied, "You need to stay with me. At a critical moment, give me the Ascension Elixir. If necessary, I can kill Song Qianqiu again, but now is not the time. I want to find Old Scholar; he once fought against Song Qianqiu. The Great Zhou Compass is the Daoist Sect's first Sacred Artifact and ignores any constraints of time. If we can obtain the Great Zhou Compass, perhaps there will be a turning point."
After returning to Qingliang Mountain with Zhou Manman, I laid out my plan. Guo Daozhen frowned; clearly, he harbored deep animosity toward Old Scholar and would love nothing more than to kill him. However, even if we were to kill Old Scholar, we would still be clueless about the Great Zhou Compass. Old Scholar had spent decades researching it; if we recklessly obtained it without understanding how to use it, it would be futile.
