Human Sacrifice
"Hehe, do you think we will just hand over the Holy Medicine because you are from Wudang?" I faintly heard the voice of Wu.
With Zhou Manman in tow, we pressed forward and indeed saw Wu Zheng confronting a group of disciples clad in Wudang Daoist Robes. One young man said, "I'm doing this for your own good. You're just a loose cultivator. If you refuse to drink the wine offered, you'll have to drink the punishment wine. Can you protect the Sacred Artifact?"
Wudao: "Whether I can protect it is my own business, so there's no need for you to worry. With so many people here, I have no obligation to hand over the Holy Medicine to you."
In Wu's hand was a purple plant that resembled a human figure. Frowning, I said, "There’s actually Millennium Purple Ginseng among the Holy Medicine."
"Millennium Purple Ginseng?"
Zhou Manman, unfamiliar with Millennium Purple Ginseng, looked at me with a questioning expression. I explained, "Ginseng is one of the most precious medicinal herbs in the secular world. Cultivated ginseng pales in comparison to wild mountain ginseng in terms of efficacy. The purple ginseng is the finest among wild mountain ginseng and is known as Emperor Ginseng. Growing for over twenty years can make someone bankrupt, and a thousand-year-old purple ginseng Holy Medicine is undoubtedly the most precious I've ever seen. Consuming it could easily elevate someone by an entire major realm."
The Soul Nourishing Fruit only allowed me to advance from early Divine Transformation Realm to mid Divine Transformation Realm, while Zhou Manman maintained her status at Foundation Establishment Realm after absorbing the Blue Orchid. However, the potency of Millennium Purple Ginseng is overwhelming; if someone with a weak constitution were to consume it, they would surely explode on the spot. The powerful Spirit Energy could burst the meridians of an ordinary disciple. Such a drug may be too potent for regular disciples, but for experts like Nangong and Dongfang Jiu, it would be outrageous.
In the encircled Mountain Valley, Wu faced off against the Wudang Disciple without fear. Behind him stood the robust Huzi, alongside a massive dead wild boar—seven or eight meters tall—likely a spirit beast that had guarded the Millennium Purple Ginseng, now slain by an unknown assailant.
A young disciple from Wudang exclaimed, "We went through great effort to hunt down this Wild Boar Demon, and you dare to take it from us? You really have some guts!"
Huzi replied, "The Holy Medicine is extraordinary; it belongs to whoever is capable of obtaining it. We took it from the cave behind the wild boar, not from your hands!"
"Hmph! I see you're looking for death!" retorted the young man. "Activate the Seven Star Sword Formation! Kill these two madmen!"
With that command, numerous Wudang Disciples drew their swords and surrounded Wu and Huzi, ready to execute their deadly formation.
With a snort, Huzi said, "Just in time to test what Uncle Yang taught me."
As he faced over a dozen attacking swords, he wrapped his fists in swirling wind and struck out fiercely. The swords bent under his punch and were sent flying back, causing those disciples to stagger. Yet another wave of disciples rushed in as the Seven Star Sword Formation continued its operation.
The dazzling sword light forced Huzi back as countless swords attacked him. Wu maneuvered through the formation and saw that Huzi was in danger; he had sustained several cuts from the swords. "Are you okay, Huzi?"
"I'm fine! Of course I'm fine; it's you who should be worried!" replied Huzi.
Huzi finished, grabbing a long sword with his bare hands and forcefully pulling it into the Sword Formation. He punched one of the disciples on the head, causing the Wudang Disciple's skull to shatter. Another Wudang Disciple filled in the Sword Formation, directing the sword's intent towards Huzi. Wu quickly grabbed Huzi and pulled him aside as the air cracked violently. The Seven Stars formation struck, cleaving a chasm where Huzi had just stood.
Huzi was drenched in cold sweat, realizing that had he been caught off guard, he would have met a gruesome end. This Sword Formation was different from ordinary sword techniques; it required multiple people working together, with countless variations. A moment's carelessness could lead to death.
Furious, Huzi drew a military knife from his waist, intending to slash his palm. Wu stopped him, saying, "You just opened your Qi Sea; do you want to die?"
Wu then bent his fingers and suddenly pressed down on the ground, shouting, "Yin Yang Wuji, Borrowing the Universe Technique!"
A circle of light radiated from Wu's palm, forming a Taiji pattern. The Wudang Disciple within the Seven Star Sword Formation suddenly turned pale as the long sword in his hand felt like it weighed millions of pounds, slipping from his grip and plunging into the ground.
The surrounding rocks trembled as Wu pulled upward sharply. A tremendous force surged through his fist, causing it to swell several times larger. He then roared and unleashed a punch that sent a group of Wudang Disciples flying backward, their bodies exploding in a mist of blood as they were shattered by May Day's fist.
The Seven Star Sword Formation was forced back, instilling fear in the Wudang Disciples and those watching from various sects.
"This is the Ultimate Technique of Yin Yang Gate; this young man is a disciple of Ghost Elder," an elder from one sect remarked.
"Elder, who is Ghost Elder?" someone asked.
The elder replied, "Over a hundred years ago, a sect called Yin Yang View rose to prominence. Its members practiced yin and yang all night long and were known as Onmyoji. These Onmyoji understood the five elements and six paths, mastering the mysterious Bagua to reverse yin and yang and alter life and death. Later, during the Daoist Sect War, the members of Yin Yang View vanished until about twenty years ago after the Death and Life Register Incident when they reappeared. That person claimed to be Ghost Elder, said to be the last master of Yin Yang View. His skills are extraordinary; he moves between yin and yang as if entering an unguarded realm. He later became friends with Divine Hero Yang Sanqian for reasons unknown, but we haven't heard from him since. That fat man just used Yin Yang Gate's secret yin-yang techniques."
"I see now; no wonder he could break Wudang Sect's most famous Seven Star Sword Formation."
In the arena, Wu looked at the remaining Wudang Disciples and said, "I don't wish to have any ties with your Wudang Sect; you force me to kill you at your own peril."
"You kill our Wudang Disciples; we will remember this grudge!" declared the leading Wudang youth.
"Then I have no choice but to kill you too," Wu shot back fiercely at the Wudang youth.
Fear flickered in the youth's eyes just then when laughter echoed from afar. Elder Si Tu Nan of the Divine Serpent Sect approached with a group of people. He said, "With the Wudang Twins absent, I didn't expect you all to be beaten by a fat pig to such an extent that you can't even tie up a chicken. What a disgrace for the Five Major Sects."
Seeing Si Tu Nan, Wu gritted his teeth and said, "Old man, a year ago you took advantage of my youth to hunt us down and caused Douding's death. Now you come here acting all high and mighty; do you really think I'm afraid of you?"
"Oh?" Si Tu Nan's eyes revealed a look of disdain as he said, "Why don't you try your luck against Old Man?"
A year ago, Five Gang had just entered the early stage of the Divine Transformation Realm, but now he was already in the late stage. The increase in power was secondary; the key was his different application of Daoist Arts. Si Tu Nan had previously been at the Core Formation Stage, so how could Five possibly be his opponent?
Five gritted his teeth and declared, "I'll give it a try!"
Clenching his fists tightly, a circle of runes lit up beneath his feet, causing the ground to tremble. Si Tu Nan was forced to retreat as a sharp piece of earth shot up from where he had been standing. Si Tu Nan mocked, "With all these flashy tricks, Old Man could cut you down with a single sword strike!"
Si Tu Nan opened his palm and picked up a sword from the ground, slashing it towards Five. The sword energy surged forth, and Five leaped aside, throwing a punch. Si Tu Nan responded with a punch of his own, and they collided. Five was sent flying back to Huzi's side.
"Are you alright?" Huzi asked.
Before Five could respond, Si Tu Nan swung his sword again. However, before the sword energy could be unleashed, the weapon slipped from his hand and embedded itself into the mountainside.
"Who dares to take Old Man's sword?" Si Tu Nan shouted in anger, looking up towards Mountain Valley.
"I do." A cold voice echoed as a young man dressed in Wudang Daoist Robe appeared.
The Wudang disciples recognized him and shouted, "Eldest Senior Brother!"
The young man nodded and flew down from above Mountain Valley. "It's truly disappointing; before even entering Rear Kunlun, your Third Senior Brother has already been killed by others. Now you're being trampled by all sorts of people, even an old fool with no talent dares to pick up my Wudang's sword."
"Since he dares to use my Wudang's sword, I will naturally chop off one of his hands, regardless of his age." Another cold voice followed as a young man who looked almost identical to Wudang's Grand Disciple descended from above Mountain Valley.
"It's the Wudang Twins, Zhang Xing and Zhang Yue! They were specifically trained by the Wudang Sect Leader for the Star-Moon Secret Classic. The two are twins with a deep connection; their appearances and behaviors are exactly alike," someone whispered.
"How do they differentiate between each other?" another person asked.
"Zhang Xing has a red mole on his forehead while Zhang Yue does not. The disciples of Wudang use this method to tell them apart. If you observe closely, you'll also notice that they wield their swords differently—one is left-handed and the other right-handed."
Inside Mountain Valley, Si Tu Nan was mocked by Zhang Xing. "I never expected the quality of the Wudang Twins to be so low. Even your sect leader would have to treat me politely upon meeting; what are you two worth?"
Zhang Yue's face darkened as he smirked slightly. "Even Nangong isn't worth much in our eyes; don't think you're anything special either, old fool."
"Seeking death!" The members of the Serpent Cult shouted angrily as they saw Zhang Yue insult the God Serpent Cult Leader, drawing their swords in response.
Zhang Yue laughed heartily and said, "With you bunch of useless drunks, my brother doesn't even need to lift a finger; I alone am enough."
As he spoke, a white light radiated from him, like the full moon in the sky. He seemed to drift slowly toward the members of the Serpent Cult, who were now charging at him with drawn swords.
As Zhang Yue passed by, their swords twisted unnaturally, and several of them felt as if they were being pulled into another space, their limbs becoming distorted. Zhang Yue snorted softly, and a sword unsheathed from his back with a clang. Before they could react, their heads and bodies were severed apart.
"Pay with your life!" Si Tu Nan roared as he struck toward Zhang Yue with a palm.
Zhang Yue turned to glance at Si Tu Nan. With a flick of his sword, it coiled around Si Tu Nan's wrist like a snake, its tip piercing into his pulse point. Si Tu Nan's face changed dramatically. Beside him, Zhang Xing said, "Brother, Elder Situ is a favored figure beside Nangong Master; killing him will provoke sect disputes."
Zhang Xing retracted his soft sword and added, "What a bunch of useless fools. You members of the Serpent Cult better stick together, especially with Young Master Nangong Lin around. Otherwise, I fear that just one of us could wipe you all out."
"Gemini truly stands out; I admire you," Si Tu Nan said through gritted teeth.
"Elder Situ," called out a middle-aged man from behind in the Serpent Cult.
Si Tu Nan replied, "What good is it to be outmatched? I brought several elders from the Nascent Soul Realm and Guardians along, yet all I find are these useless drunks. It's embarrassing; I might as well not bother with this Holy Medicine."
With a huff, Si Tu Nan led his group of Serpent Cult members away.
Zhang Yue smiled and looked at Wudao. "Fatty, hand over that Millennium Purple Ginseng in your hand, and I'll let you go."
Wudao frowned; it was clear that the Wudang Twins were quite famous in the Daoist World. The elder brother, Zhang Xing, hadn't even made a move yet had already sent the Serpent Cult members fleeing in panic. He certainly wasn't a match for the Wudang Twins.
Wudao glanced at Huzi beside him. Huzi said, "If I use that kind of power, I'll fight them."
Wudao replied, "Forget it; survival of the fittest is only natural. There's no need to risk your life over this."
The Millennium Purple Ginseng was an exceptional Holy Medicine that everyone desired. If the Wudang Twins obtained it, they would undoubtedly become the unrivaled leaders among all sects.
Zhang Yue took the purple ginseng and struck it against Wu's chest with a palm, sending Wu flying to the ground, blood spewing from his mouth.
Zhang Yue laughed heartily and said, "You think you can kill me, a Wudang Disciple, and still hope to survive? That's simply delusional."
"You're untrustworthy. Even if we die, we'll drag you down with us!" Huzi declared fiercely.
"I'd like to see how you plan to drag me down," Zhang Yue replied.
Whoosh!
A Wudang Disciple fell silently to the ground.
Immediately after, another Wudang Disciple clutched his head, his eyes bloodshot, a red dot resembling a mosquito bite appearing behind his ear.
A silver needle, imperceptible to ordinary people, pierced through a Wudang Disciple's neck. It then darted back and forth through the heads of dozens of Wudang Disciples. The silver needle fell to the ground, bent from the impact. Zhang Xing frowned as he looked at the twisted silver needle on the ground. The Wudang Disciples were on high alert, their faces filled with terror as they glanced around.
Then, more than ten silver needles floated behind me. Zhang Xing shouted angrily, "Who dares to sneak attack me in my presence?!"
I smirked coldly as dozens of silver needles scattered across the ground in all directions. In an instant, these silver needles pierced through the skulls of all the Wudang Disciples, destroying their brain centers. All of the over three hundred Wudang Disciples present, except for Gemini, were dead.
