Ahead or behind, two paths lay before us. Having come this far, Hills was certainly not willing to retreat. We had little dissent, so we planned to move forward. 0

The unexpected disappearance of Windwalker and the lurking monsters at the top of the tomb passage were hidden dangers in our hearts. Not to mention this strange tomb passage itself. 0

During our discussion, Aran was busy preparing explosives. 0

Although the unknown monster at the top of the tomb passage was terrifying, the Mud Man had discovered its weakness, which made it relatively safe in a way. 0

Fat Ma swaggered ahead, humming a crude tune. 0

“Fatty, keep your wits about you,” I called out as I caught up with Fat Ma. 0

“Old Sun, just relax. You know how I handle things; I've got this,” Fat Ma replied nonchalantly. 0

I couldn't help but smile; it was precisely because I knew his style that I felt the need to remind him. Before I could say more, Fat Ma swayed his flashlight and continued walking ahead. 0

With no choice, I followed closely behind him, and Xiao Nan trailed right after me. The Mud Man followed us three. 0

Hills and his group walked behind us. 0

I held onto my flashlight, my gaze constantly scanning the top of the tomb passage. Ignoring those monsters could lead to fatal consequences. 0

“Brother Sun, what kind of monsters are up ahead?” Xiao Nan asked curiously. 0

“I can't say for sure. Just be careful yourself, Xiao Nan,” I replied. 0

"Yes, Brother Sun, I will," Xiao Nan replied. 0

I counted silently in my mind, glancing at the watch on my wrist. At the current pace, it seemed we would reach the place where we encountered the monster in about ten minutes. 0

Suddenly, Fat Ma, who was leading the way, exclaimed in surprise, "There's light ahead." 0

I immediately looked forward and felt a sinking sensation in my heart; it was that same orb of light that had led us into danger before. 0

"It's a trap," the Mud Man couldn't help but warn Fat Ma. 0

Upon hearing this, Fat Ma's foot, which had taken a step forward, hesitated in mid-air before retracting. 0

I stepped forward and observed with my naked eye, noticing that the beam of light was moving. It was exactly like the situation we had encountered earlier, causing me to feel a sense of unease. 0

White Zhi whispered something in Hills' ear, and Hills' expression changed momentarily before returning to normal. 0

"Let's go," I said after scanning for any abnormalities and finding none. As soon as I spoke, I took advantage of Fat Ma's distraction to pass him and move to the front. From then on, my gaze remained fixed on the top of the tomb passage. 0

The thick and thin layers of green moss covered the top of the tomb passage densely. 0

Five minutes passed just like that. However, I dared not let my guard down for even a moment. Suddenly, I felt a chill at the back of my neck. Startled as if by a ghost, I turned around quickly. Fat Ma stumbled back a few steps with a whoosh and cursed, "Old Sun, what are you doing?" 0

I wiped the water from my neck and looked up at the top of the tomb passage; there was nothing there—just an unnecessary scare. 0

Fat Ma patted his chest and muttered, "Can't scare me away or kill me; my soul won't leave—come back quickly." 0

The Fat Ma was performing a summoning, and I quickly smiled at him to show goodwill, avoiding any unnecessary trouble. Just then, I felt a chill at the back of my neck. 0

The Mud Man pulled me back quickly, causing me to lose my balance and lurch forward, landing on top of the Fat Ma. This time, he couldn't steady himself and fell to the ground, muttering, "Today is just my unlucky day." 0

I scrambled to get up and noticed that the creature at the top of the tomb passage had vanished swiftly like an agile monkey. 0

Xiao Nan looked pale with fear, standing frozen in place. Aran was already preparing to reach into his pocket for explosives. 0

The Fat Ma continued to scold me from the side. I swallowed hard and unconsciously began to repeat some of his slogans in my mind. My pupils contracted and then dilated as I took a deep breath. 0

I collected my thoughts, clenched my fists, and then relaxed them. "We got away," the Mud Man said as I stepped forward. 0

I looked toward the top of the tomb passage and saw that the smooth moss had several new scratches on it. 0

"Brother Sun, you almost got caught by it," Xiao Nan said, her voice trembling with fear. 0

"Xiao Nan, I'm fine. Don't worry," I replied. 0

I continued moving forward, and Xiao Nan hurried to catch up with me. I said, "Xiao Nan, don't follow me. Go with that sister behind us." 0

Hills waved at Xiao Nan after hearing my words. She looked reluctant but ultimately complied. 0

The path ahead was dangerous; I couldn't let her take risks by following me. 0

The Fat Ma hurried up beside me and said, "Old Sun, Fat Master is here to back you up so you won't be scared again." 0

I ignored the Fat Ma, my mind still tense like a tightly strung violin after what had just happened. 0

Tick-tock… A crisp sound echoed in the tomb passage. I immediately turned to look, only to see a droplet of water gathering on the moss, about to fall. 0

I sighed in relief; I was being too sensitive, I scolded myself inwardly. 0

I glanced at the time; eight minutes had already passed. After another two minutes, the monster still hadn’t appeared, but the beam of light continued to move. 0

“There's definitely a little brat up ahead,” Fat Ma said, pointing at the beam of light. 0

At that moment, a droplet of water landed on my eyelashes. I blinked, and the scene became somewhat blurry. Wait! I was startled; it seemed like there really was a figure. 0

I rubbed my eyes vigorously, and once my vision cleared, that figure was gone again. 0

Strange; could I have been mistaken? 0

I asked Fat Ma, “Did you see a shadow?” 0

Fat Ma looked ahead again and then turned to me. “Old Sun, you’ve been acting paranoid lately. You really should get checked at a hospital once we get out of here.” 0

“ Fat Ma, you’re the one who’s paranoid,” I replied. Fat Ma continued to glare at me, making me feel uneasy under his gaze. 0

“I can’t be bothered with you,” I said as I stepped forward. 0

Fat Ma caught up with me and spoke seriously, “Old Sun, I just took a look at your face.” 0

I ignored him as Fat Ma kept chattering in my ear, "Old Sun, your features are well-defined; your nose is a nose, your mouth is a mouth, your eyes are eyes, and you have integrity. What a pity..." Fat Ma's voice trailed off dramatically, like a fortune teller. 0

Unable to resist his incessant rambling, I finally asked, "What a pity about what?" 0

"What a pity! What a pity!" Fat Ma replied in an air of someone enlightened. 0

" Fat Ma, just spit it out. Don't keep me in suspense." 0

Fat Ma immediately changed his tone, grinning as he said, "Cancel all the conditions you mentioned before." 0

I turned to leave. 0

Fat Ma hurried after me, "How about half?" 0

"Half..." I turned back to respond, but before I could finish my sentence, I saw a sinister claw appear above Fat Ma's head. Realizing it was too late to save him, I shouted his name. 0

Fat Ma froze at my shout. However, he was quick-witted; despite the deep gash now on his forehead, he managed to escape. 0

"Damn it! Where did they come from?" Fat Ma yelled in agony, covering his forehead and cursing incessantly. Mud Man rushed up from behind. Fat Ma was furious; once he regained his composure, he quickly grabbed the monster's claw and yanked hard. 0

The creature—let's call it the Evil Spirit—let out a cry as it was torn but remained stuck at the top of the tomb passage. 0

Fat Ma was furious; he was not someone to be trifled with. 0

Holding onto the Evil Spirit's claw without letting go, the creature seemed to panic as its other claw swung toward Fat Ma. However, it underestimated the strength of the enraged Fat Ma. With lightning speed, Fat Ma grabbed its other claw as well. 0

Sweat beaded on Fat Ma's forehead as he cursed, "Dare to bully Fat Master? You'll pay for this." 0

I stood beside the clay figure, dumbfounded. Fat Ma's fierce ability truly left us feeling embarrassed. He held an overwhelming advantage. 0

The others rushed over just in time to witness the standoff between Fat Ma and the Evil Spirit. 0

The Evil Spirit was emaciated, resembling a withered husk, short in stature. In contrast, Fat Ma was broad-shouldered and muscular. 0

I couldn't help but feel a bit of sympathy for the Evil Spirit. 0

Fat Ma gritted his teeth as he grabbed the Evil Spirit. The creature struggled against him. Yet, strangely enough, despite the vast difference in strength, the Evil Spirit wasn't pulled down from the top of the tomb passage. 0

I focused on the Evil Spirit and noticed that as it continued to thrash, its head suddenly elongated by more than a foot, its eyes bulging as it opened its mouth filled with sharp teeth. 0

I was terrified; its speed was astonishing. 0

At that moment, a beam of light shone into its eyes. Seizing the opportunity, I pushed Fat Ma. 0

Fat Ma snapped back to reality and exerted himself even more, causing the Evil Spirit to scream in agony. 0

"Give me a hand, Old Sun," Fat Ma finally shouted, reaching his limit. 0

I responded immediately, stepping forward to help Fat Ma grip one of the Evil Spirit's claws. With both of us pulling together, the Evil Spirit let out a wretched cry. 0

To our shock, its claw was actually torn off. 0

Both Fat Ma and I were stunned, our strength faltering for a moment. Taking advantage of this, it broke free from us, and as it fled, the Evil Spirit cast a resentful glance at both Fat Ma and me. 0

Suddenly, a cold light flashed before our eyes, and the Evil Spirit was struck by an arrow. 0

Whoosh! Two more arrows followed. The Evil Spirit fell dead on the spot. I looked over to see White Zhi holding the Crossbow, pulling it back. 0

The Evil Spirit, slumped against the wall, bled bright red before finally dropping down from the top of the tomb passage after a few seconds. 0

Fat Ma and I hurried forward to examine the fallen Evil Spirit. We noticed its feet had long, sharp claws; it must have used these to cling tightly to the wall and prevent itself from falling. 0

Fat Ma tentatively kicked it, but there was no response. Only then did we dare to crouch down for a closer look. 0

I had never seen anything like this before. 0

At that moment, Hills said, "This should be a special ancient technique commonly known as corpse raising." 0

"Corpse raising?" I asked in astonishment. 0

Hills nodded and explained, "This technique originates from Hunan's Xiangxi region, but raising a child's corpse is utterly against moral principles." 0

"How despicable! It's simply insane," Xiao Nan couldn't help but add. 0
