The strange screeching sound seemed to be getting closer. I turned around and felt as if I had fallen into an ice cellar, cursing, "Damn it." I urged the one ahead of me, Fat Ma, "Hurry up! We're about to get bitten on the backside!" 0

Upon hearing my words, Fat Ma's legs kicked into high gear, moving with a speed that was anything but typical for someone of his size. He quickly pulled ahead of me. 0

I widened my eyes, my flashlight flickering as I ran, and I realized I might not even be able to catch up with Fat Ma. 0

With no choice left, I summoned all my strength to chase after him. The piercing sound echoed in my ears, sending chills down my spine and making me feel as if death was closing in step by step. 0

Fat Ma was still shouting at me from the front, urging me to run faster. 0

We were in a long passageway, with him in front and the Corpse Worms behind us. 0

Suddenly, I felt as if someone was closely following me. I whipped around and shone my flashlight just in time to see a mud figure sprinting away. 0

I was stunned but quickly pushed aside my shock; survival was the priority. I took off running again. 0

The passageway stretched on endlessly, and it felt like there was no exit in sight. 0

I dared not look back; it felt like there were layers of hell behind me forcing me to keep moving forward. 0

Just as I was about to catch up with Fat Ma, a gust of wind rushed past my ear, and a voice said, "Comrade, I'm going ahead." 0

I was taken aback; this was just a mud figure—how could it speak? 0

As I watched the mud figure close in on Fat Ma, I hurriedly warned him. Fat Ma turned around and saw the mud figure too, letting out a terrified scream. 0

The mud figure seemed unfazed and quickly overtook Fat Ma, leaving behind a chilling remark: "You two better run faster; otherwise, you won't make it." 0

Both Fat Ma and I were momentarily stunned but were soon jolted back to reality by that eerie screeching sound, which now resembled a baby crying. 0

We ran quickly without any sense of direction. 0

Suddenly, I shouted, "There's light ahead." 0

Fat Ma wasted no time and dashed toward it. 0

As we approached the source of the light, we realized it was fire, and there were people panting heavily. Without a word, we ran to the fire. 0

Sure enough, the Corpse Worms quickly lunged at us. Just as they were about to reach us, a mud figure grabbed a torch and set it ablaze against the Corpse Worms. 0

The leading Corpse Worm was soon engulfed in flames, crackling and emitting a foul odor. The remaining Corpse Worms, instinctively fearful, retreated. 0

Fat Ma and I were still gasping for breath, our emotions not yet calmed, and we hadn’t even noticed who had started the fire. 0

After a moment, we settled down. Fat Ma said, "What is burning? It smells strange." He stood up and moved closer to the fire, his expression changing as he exclaimed, "Damn, it's fellow travelers! They're burning Coffin Boards." 0

Hearing Fat Ma's words made me finally take note of our surroundings. This was a relatively large tomb chamber, but not far away were neatly arranged coffins. Just when we thought we had escaped from the gates of hell and found some calm, we fell right back into it. 0

The fire blazed fiercely, crackling in the air. At some point, the mud figure had vanished. 0

Fat Ma continued to stare at the fire, murmuring to himself. 0

I whispered, "Fatty, look over there." 0

Fat Ma's gaze shifted and froze for a moment. I noticed his plump belly draw in; he had taken a deep breath. 0

After a while, he said, "Damn, this time we've entered a ghost's den." 0

I couldn't help but take a deep breath myself to suppress my unease as we turned off our flashlights. 0

By the light of the fire, we both moved closer. A coffin had already been opened; it must have been done by that mud figure earlier. 0

But inside, it was surprisingly empty, nothing at all. 0

Both of us stared blankly, unsure of what to say. Apart from the opened coffin, there were nine other coffins neatly arranged, silently lying there and exuding a chilling aura that made our nerves tense. 0

"What do we do now?" I instinctively asked. 0

Fat Ma's emotions were somewhat heated as he said, "Open them all." 0

At his words, I felt a wave of dread. "Open them all?" I repeated Fat Ma's words. 0

Fat Ma shook his head and quickly corrected himself, "No, these coffins shouldn't be opened." Seeing him speak incoherently made me feel uneasy. 0

I asked again, "So should we open them or not?" 0

After a moment of silence, Fat Ma slowly said, "These coffins might be Cursed Coffins," as beads of sweat formed on his forehead. 0

I realized the seriousness of the situation. 0

Suddenly, I thought of the ten corpses hanging outside, and here there were exactly ten coffins. Was this a coincidence? 0

My mind became chaotic; it was my first time in a tomb and so many things were happening, it felt increasingly tangled. 0

Ten corpses and ten coffins—didn’t they match perfectly? Were those ten corpses meant to be placed in these ten coffins? 0

Aside from the one coffin that had already been opened, the other nine should also be empty. 0

I voiced my thoughts. 0

Fat Ma pondered for a moment and said, "Old Sun, you make a good point. It seems I was confused. This place doesn’t seem like one where Cursed Coffins would appear." 0

I heard Fat Ma mention the term "Cursed Coffin" for the second time. 0

Unable to hold back, I asked Fat Ma, "What does 'Cursed Coffin' refer to?" As I spoke those words, an uncomfortable feeling washed over me. 0

Fat Ma seemed reluctant to answer at first but eventually said, "'Cursed Coffin' means it must lead to the Zongzi Corpse Evil" (Zongzi refers to a corpse that has mutated into a Zombie). 0

After hearing Fat Ma's explanation, I felt like I understood something. I then asked him, "Why did you say this is a Cursed Coffin just now?" 0

Fat Ma didn't know how to explain my question and simply remarked that having so many coffins together was ominous. 0

I stared at the coffins, and the more I looked, the more uneasy I felt. 0

Seeing that I wasn't responding, Fat Ma waved his hand in front of my eyes and said, "Old Sun, what are you staring at so intently?" 0

I still didn't reply. 0

Fat Ma continued, "Old Sun, don't think too much. Actually, what you said earlier makes sense; these coffins are empty, so they are safe." 0

I responded, "Maybe they really are empty!" My statement sounded more like a question. 0

Noticing the tense atmosphere, Fat Ma tried to lighten it with a teasing tone. "Old Sun, I've told you before—no matter what comes out of them, with my skills, I can handle any Zombie easily." 0

A growing sense of unreality began to spread within me. It felt as if we were truly meant to open these coffins. Compelled by some unseen force, I blurted out, "Let's open these coffins and take a look!" 0
