"Guangcai, where's that little fox?" Zhang Xiaoxiao suddenly remembered something and asked.
"It's right here," Zhao Guangcai said, pointing behind him.
Zhang Xiaoxiao followed his finger and saw a snow-white fox crouching in the grass, with a few spots of blood on its body, staring at her with round, glistening eyes.
"Wow, it's so cute!" Zhang Xiaoxiao exclaimed in delight.
She hurried over, crouched down, and reached out to stroke the little fox's head. The fox didn't seem afraid of her; instead, it nudged her hand with its head.
"It's so well-behaved," Zhang Xiaoxiao said with a smile.
"Yeah," Zhao Guangcai nodded.
"Guangcai, can we keep it?" Zhang Xiaoxiao looked up at Zhao Guangcai and asked.
"Sure," Zhao Guangcai agreed without hesitation.
"Really?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked excitedly.
"Yeah," Zhao Guangcai nodded again.
"That's great!" Zhang Xiaoxiao said happily.
"It's injured. I'll go get the first aid kit to treat its wounds," Zhao Guangcai said.
"Okay," Zhang Xiaoxiao nodded.
Zhao Guangcai turned and went back into the house.
Zhang Xiaoxiao continued to pet the little fox's head, feeling extremely happy.
After a while, Zhao Guangcai came out with the first aid kit. He treated the little fox's wounds and then took a thick iron chain to tie it up in the woodshed.
"Guangcai, that chain is too thick. Won't it hurt it?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked worriedly.
"It won't," Zhao Guangcai shook his head and replied.
"That's good," Zhang Xiaoxiao felt relieved.
"Let's go; I'll take you to see a doctor," Zhao Guangcai said.
"Alright." Zhang Xiaoxiao nodded.
With that, the two of them walked out of the house together.
At this moment, night had fully descended, the sky was dotted with twinkling stars, and the moon shone brightly. The village was quiet, with only the occasional sound of a dog barking in the distance. Zhao Guangcai held Zhang Xiaoxiao's hand and walked slowly.
"Guangcai, I feel so happy right now," Zhang Xiaoxiao said with a smile.
"Why?" Zhao Guangcai asked.
"Because you're by my side," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied, looking at him with deep affection.
Hearing this, a warm feeling surged within Zhao Guangcai. He tightened his grip on her soft little hand as they made their way to the Village Health Center.
Meanwhile, on the village road, Zhao Xiaosong encountered the driver, villagers, and the village chief.
"Hello, may I ask who is Sun Qiuhua?" Zhao Xiaosong inquired of the villagers.
The villagers exchanged glances, unsure of who this man in a suit and gold-rimmed glasses was.
"Who are you?" Sun Qiuhua asked warily.
"Auntie, hello," Zhao Xiaosong said with a slight smile.
"Auntie? Who is your aunt?" Sun Qiuhua frowned.
"Of course it's you. I am your nephew," Zhao Xiaosong replied calmly.
"My nephew? When did I have a nephew?" Sun Qiuhua was taken aback.
"Do you remember the the Zhao Family?" Zhao Xiaosong prompted her.
"The the Zhao Family?" Sun Qiuhua murmured those words, her expression changing suddenly.
"Yes, you should remember the the Zhao Family," Zhao Xiaosong said lightly.
"I don't know any the Zhao Family," Sun Qiuhua said coldly.
"Really? You don't know them at all?" Zhao Xiaosong raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know," Sun Qiuhua snorted.
"Then how do you explain that your daughter now has the surname Li?" Zhao Xiaosong countered.
"You..." Sun Qiuhua was momentarily speechless. "You say you're my sister's son?" Sun Qiuhua squinted at him and asked.
"Yes," Zhao Xiaosong replied with a slight smile.
